00:32:24where they come out relative to oliver roland who's gone a lap earlier

00:32:30well let's keep an eye on roland because
00:32:32he's coming to turn 13
00:32:34is he going to go for attack
00:32:35yeah he's coming to turn 13 now
00:32:37yeah roland was the pit boost leader as you can see on the bottom left hand corner of your screen
00:32:41so keep an eye out for him later on
00:32:43he's not taking it
00:32:44he's not taking attack mode
00:32:46he's come through which is interesting because ericsson has so does ericsson obviously he's lost
00:32:53probably five six seconds in the stop
00:32:55but um roland has chosen not to take attack mode which
00:33:00maybe would have been enough to jump ahead of these guys
00:33:03yeah we'll wait and see how this works out
00:33:05so the drivers that came into the pit lane at the end of lap 16
00:33:07they're now coming out of it there is oliver roland on the left hand side of your screen
00:33:11and where is he going to emerge in this one
00:33:13he was about 12th or 13th position prior to the pit stops and as it all works out for oliver roland
00:33:17has he lost time net to the rest of the field well he's side by side here with the cupro
00:33:22over dan tictum and tictum trying to defend the line into turn four trying to switch back here is oliver roland on the inside into turn five can't find his way past though at the moment
00:33:32and roland has lost time net to the rest of the field here hasn't he as a result he's lost about
00:33:37two or three places yeah and also that little battle with tictum would have cost him some
00:33:41time as well you really wanted to be able to run in clean air not having to battle and i think uh
00:33:48karun you make a good point that maybe that attack mode would have benefited him yeah i think he would
00:33:53have gained a couple of places wouldn't he because he'd have better traction out of those
00:33:57couple of chicanes okay you lose some time taking into attack mode but yeah i don't know i think he could have
00:34:05potentially again a couple of places well maybe he spent a longer game here because tictum's just
00:34:08gone in for attack mode so roland's cycled in front of the british driver dennison da costa also in for
00:34:13their one and only attack mode in this race meanwhile the sharp end of this gunter versus verlein for
00:34:17the race league gunter in all-wheel drive in attack mode with the outside line down into turn 13
00:34:22verlein defends it but surely he's going to be powerless to the germans charge as we come in towards the
00:34:27final chicane verlein on the inside and gunter goes through for the lead i'm into the systems a lot
00:34:35not only on traction but as well on breaking the same kind of acceleration like in pre-practice
00:34:43so gunter into the systems a lot so basically complaining about some of the software on his
00:34:47car and not giving him the balance that he wants verlein though crucially from the former race leader
00:34:50now into the pit lane at the end of lap 18. so verlein where does he come out tom that's the question
00:34:59isn't it so that the leader the pit boost leader is a taylor barnard he is currently i can tell you
00:35:05on the track map he is down the back straight coming towards turn at 13. so let's keep an eye on that
00:35:13uh versus where the uh porsche comes out yeah well the net pit loss time we reckon about 56 seconds or so
00:35:20in total 34 seconds to come to the stop obviously that's when you're stationary but the total time
00:35:25from the time you go into the pits and the time you exit the pits is about 30 is about 56 seconds
00:35:28as muller very deep down at the bus stop chicane gathers it all up and lives to fight another day
00:35:34that's a warning sign there for the swiss driver in the porsche as verlein exits out of the pit lane and
00:35:40where is he going to emerge in this race well i think coming through the pit exit you've actually the corner
00:35:45is a is a more open radius so you carry more speed than the people coming through turns one and two
00:35:50and he has come out clear of that pack so that pack of cars led now by jake dennis despite the fact
00:35:57that they were in attack mode did not gain enough so um we know that obviously um pascal verlein has not
00:36:07yet taken attack mode and he stayed in front so that it's a net gain for him i wonder if for verlein this
00:36:11is going to force his hand in terms of attack mode because you've got what four cars right behind
00:36:14they're all in the tap mode at the moment they've all got all-wheel drive as gunter is now in yeah
00:36:18verlein has to do it because now he's got free air this is the chance to make hay and gain back
00:36:23position so i'm i'm i'm 100 sure that will be his strategy to take it now but roland is the one to
00:36:30your point tom yeah who's decided i'm going to be the one doing something different i'm going to wait
00:36:34as verlein does take that attack mode as we expected roland is waiting roland is thinking i'm i need
00:36:40to do something different as we talked about earlier there's no point in me doing the same as
00:36:44as everyone in front of me yeah so drive-through penalty by the way for joel erickson pitbull state
00:36:48of charge infraction we saw that when he came into the box he overshot it alby how do you see things
00:36:53playing out we've got muller in the pits you've got the likes of mortara digrassi nato they're all in
00:36:57the box at the moment the only four drivers who are yet to make their stop evans cassidy marty
00:37:01and drug of it what's going out there how do you see things playing out
00:37:08from the over cut he took his attack early made sure you made a lot of lap time up there and then
00:37:13i don't know why porsche didn't take attack with pascal but they couldn't fight back and now gunter's
00:37:18right up the road yeah gunter as you say has gone into net race lead i mean the gap is about seven
00:37:24tenths of a second or so between himself and verlein berlein's in attack mode so gunter i'm sure he's
00:37:28going to have to go for exactly the same strategy this time around there is your effective race
00:37:33leaders in this one gunter who is in fifth position and verlein who's in p6 and verlein is going to be
00:37:37breathing down the neck of that ds penske before the end of this lap he sounded so excited on the radio
00:37:42didn't he when he overdone earlier all that's been undone but here he goes using the attack mode and
00:37:48out drags it down into 13. yeah gunter doesn't go into attack mode i think i wonder if he's used it
00:37:53don't forget oh yes of course of pecky part of course he has yeah so that's the problem is it's left
00:37:56invulnerable then here isn't it yeah yeah i mean that's a contra strategy isn't it they they chose
00:38:01to go first and now for the next four minutes and 30 seconds he's going to see that porsche just
00:38:07disappear up the road and he's under attack from dennis and da costa for the next two minutes so
00:38:12gunter's going to lose out to those two and maybe even tick them and barnard yeah the final four drivers
00:38:18then coming out of the pit lane so they were quite the way down the back of the field the likes of uh uh
00:38:23these four and where are they going to emerge in the race for this one now we can see
00:38:27edwano mortara trying to make some moves there on dan tickton four position that's inside the top five
00:38:33as you've got nico muller so muller just on the fringes of the top ten here and evans trying to
00:38:39challenge muller on the inside into turn four gets the move done in the jaguar and goes through inside the
00:38:44top ten there's moving there as well sebastian bohemi was looking for the pass on oliver roland for 14th place
00:38:51quite a way down the order for oliver roland as we know roland's still yet to take attack mode so
00:38:55every driver now inside the top ten barring eduardo mortara has used their one and only attack mode
00:39:01in this race everybody outside of the top ten barring joel erickson has not used their attack mode
00:39:06and everyone has now pitted so this is now we've had the reset they've all pitted and this is now the
00:39:13established order apart from as you said tom the attack mode differences well the upshot is here that
00:39:18berlein now has a 1.8 second lead over jake dennis and he's got three minutes of attack mode
00:39:22remaining so that so for gunter here he's now going to be vulnerable to the likes of tickton and mortara
00:39:28is there only a few tenths of a second away and indeed tickton going for the move on the inside down
00:39:32into the final chicane so the britain is through on gunter for fourth position and the next target
00:39:38for max gunter is going to be taylor barnard his teammate who's going to be coming through at a vast rate of
00:39:43loss and indeed moves himself up into p5 yeah so good does not doubt here hasn't he that strategy
00:39:48of going for the attack early and then pitting later has cycled him down the pack you know and he's now
00:39:57he's probably going to lose one to nato as well um and he's you know net equal in terms of attack mode so
00:40:04it's not worked out for gunter that that strategy they roll the dice uh try to do something different
00:40:09by splitting it and it's not quite worked out barnard has still got a minute to go so how
00:40:13how far up the pack can barnard get that's a big question now for diazpenski yeah well you've got
00:40:19dan tickton who's in fourth place directly in front of him so you'd imagine that'll be a pretty easy
00:40:23pickings there for the fellow british driver and he's going to try and make this move coming down
00:40:27towards turn 13 tickton defends the line into the hairpin barnard's going to try and sweep around the
00:40:32outside use the extra speed use the extra traction can't make anything stick on the exit of 13 but
00:40:37i wonder how long it's going to be before barnard can get that position yeah tickton is uh defending
00:40:43that well because with the attack mode he should have been able to get the run on him but tickton
00:40:47doing everything using experience to lock down those inside lines not much he'll be able to do on the
00:40:54start finish straight yeah no love lost between these two anyone if you've seen the uh formula e driver
00:41:01series there's a bit of needle between between barnard and tickton from last year but barnard now
00:41:06up into a net fourth place so you've got dennis and the costa up the road who are in second and third
00:41:11they've used their attack mode uh at this point in the race barnard's just coming to the end of it so
00:41:15the problem is it took him a bit of time to get through on that tickton had he done that 20 or 30
00:41:19seconds earlier he might have been able to challenge the position using that attack mode now he's got to do
00:41:24it on pure talent alone i'll tell you what dennis and the costa have done well i think in the whole pit pit
00:41:31boost attack mode cycle because i feel like we now have talked about them being interlinked everyone's
00:41:35kind of done it around the same time yeah certainly that's everyone the top seven um they they're the
00:41:42the ones who've cycled up haven't they team radio it's the second lap i've checked it
00:41:50confirm it for full light time yes yes
00:41:56oh god confirm the average one eight five
00:42:02so tick to how are we not spotting that
00:42:10ticks him again unhappy on the team radio thinks he's going to be left vulnerable in the latter stages of
00:42:14this race and the costa blame him to be either because you've got quite a caught quite a fair few
00:42:19drivers who uh right the way down the road not too far adrift the likes of edward mortara from
00:42:248th down to 17th they've all got an attack mode left yeah i'd like to get alby's take on that victim
00:42:30team radio actually because it sounds like there's a quoted message about the uh the amount of energy
00:42:35usage of some sort of as my my guess but um alvi if you're if you're listening in i don't know if you
00:42:42can all add a bit of light on that yeah i've just been checking the driver radio it looks like a setting
00:42:49thing that whether whether's dance done it or he's not been instructed to do it it looks like he was
00:42:55held back a little bit on energy he couldn't use as much as he wanted to
00:42:59well that's a shame for dan tickton sick place a year so we've got good sir directly behind you can
00:43:04see there in the black and gold ds penske but everybody behind him and one of mortara and the
00:43:10prevailing field have all got their one and only attack mode to use in the latter stage of this race
00:43:14i tell you what on target okay perfect i tell you all i think mortara is in a good place here he's
00:43:25he's gone for attack mode now in eighth place but the field have all bunched up you know we had
00:43:31some gaps developing apart from wehrlein wehrlein has checked out wehrlein is now seven seconds clear
00:43:38of jake dennis but i can see mortara using this attack mode to cycle past everyone apart from uh
00:43:45from wehrlein so let's see how he gets on the pole man of course what a terrible start but let's see how
00:43:50he gets on this is a great battle going on here between taylor barnard and norman natto side by
00:43:53side they've gone they switch positions and switch sides of the road barnard with the inside line natto
00:43:57is gonna get ruffled out of the wall on the outside of turn four and barnard does get the better of the
00:44:03frenchman for third yep some good uh robust racing there they tried to defend it got that little
00:44:10bit of contact but uh in the end had to give up the position and then we can see mortara there still
00:44:17with that just under five minutes of the attack mode ticked him next ticked him we know is already a
00:44:23little bit uh frustrated yeah mortara is going to clear up here isn't he he's going straight past
00:44:27and ticked him and there's going to be nothing that they can do look at this though side by side here
00:44:30between dennis and da costa down into turn 13 dennis defends da costa attacked no positions changing
00:44:35there for the time being but mortara is going to be the man on the move the likewise evans and
00:44:39muller they could bring themselves right into the picture here mortara is through on norman natto
00:44:44for fifth now yeah but i think natto made a mistake there because we saw ticked him defending
00:44:48out of 13 into these last two chicanes it is possible to defend against people in attack mode
00:44:53whereas natto just gave it up and it's allowed mortara to get ahead and now get a run on barnard so
00:45:00they're kind of they're making it a bit easy sometimes um but yeah as i said before i think
00:45:06mortara is going to end up at second place here about four and a half laps that's what we reckon the attack
00:45:10mode is worth over the course of those six minutes so let's see what my tires are hotter than the core of the sun
00:45:16well a nice alan partridge reference from uh dan sickton on the team radio their seventh position
00:45:25he is not happy with the tire pressures and the tire temperatures then quite clearly uh for the
00:45:30british driver seventh position and he could be vulnerable because he's a bit down on energy for
00:45:33the likes of max gunter and he's got a couple of drivers of evans muller and also now john eric
00:45:37burn all in that attack mode here yeah i think he needs a new script writer for his one-liner so
00:45:42i'm not volunteering myself for that job i tell you that for free mortara three and a half minutes
00:45:48left on attack mode then here and he's going to cycle through on jake dennis for second place now
00:45:53down into turn 13 side by side they go and mortara in the nahindra is now back up and into second
00:46:00position so one place behind from where he started if he can now clear off into the distance and create
00:46:05that gap that buffer that will leave him quite nice to the end of the race well we'll do a couple of
00:46:09seconds and the attack modes and he's got three minutes of it so uh karen's going to do the math
00:46:16he's got two laps to hunt down berline but that's not quite going to be enough berline's done a great
00:46:22job to open the gap out watch evans he's the next one along with muller who are going to start coming
00:46:28through this pack dennis p2 is 7.9 seconds mortara 8.5 and p4
00:46:36that's an old message doesn't it yeah look the gaps have come down by a second since then and it's not
00:46:40dennis now it's mortara who's directly behind him yeah he should be within three seconds maybe a bit
00:46:45less of their line yeah but i think the verline is looking good in my opinion berlin because it doesn't
00:46:53added lap we might get one extra added lap uh we see evans as i said before keep an eye out for him he
00:46:58is now cycled up to being right in this fight and he should breeze past taylor barnard and may even
00:47:08get ahead of the costa who is having a go at jake dennis's belt oh dennis there with a look on the
00:47:15inside to costa on the outside then this is great racing between the jaguar and the andretti evans looking
00:47:21to try and attack as well on dennis for the inside line into the penultimate chicane gets it done
00:47:26jaguar's moving up places there at the end of this race this is absolutely phenomenal and look at nico
00:47:31muller as well also trying to attack against the second of the ds penskis good move around the outside
00:47:38yep that's taylor barnard who was making positions on them or trying to at least as well and now barnard's
00:47:43going to be vulnerable here to johnny robert who's also in attack mode muller side by side still
00:47:48then as they come down the start finish straight and muller now is ahead of dennis and dennis is
00:47:52dropping like a stone if you consider that he was in the podium places just a lap or two ago and now
00:47:57he's down outside of the top five yeah just the way the strategies have fallen there's nothing you can
00:48:02do against attack mode cassidy could be on the move here as well he's got four minutes left of attack mode
00:48:06he's got the inside line against dan tictum he's now into the points for the first time in this race
00:48:10isn't it cassidy this is exactly what we're used to seeing from the new zealand driver he just seems to ghost his
00:48:17way up the field he's done an alternate strategy taken that late attack mode and now the field's all
00:48:21bunched up he can take profit of it yeah but he's going to lose big time the championship battle isn't

00:49:16he's making it look easy he cannot be serious for sakes okay okay refocus you're good on energy and
00:49:23only evans and muller you're fighting with evans and muller keep his slipstream with death to go back
00:49:28to the to the gap so castee's sniffing an opportunity of a podium here he's up and into
00:49:35seventh position at the moment he's got de costa and vern in front of him they're not in attack mode
00:49:39right now and of course castee's got about a minute or so left more than evans and muller once they come
00:49:44to the end of their deployments yeah he's got a clear genre hopefully the team will get on the radio
00:49:50a giant burn and say get out of the way your teammates in attack mode he's coming quick
00:49:54roland's really confusing isn't he's not taking attack mode he's languishing down in 17 he's way
00:49:59off the back of the pack he's 24 he's 24 seconds off yeah he's three seconds off the back of martin
00:50:04he's going to be nowhere he's going to be absolutely nowhere he must have an issue
00:50:08to be that far back i wonder if that's as a result of the contact that we saw with him at the barrier
00:50:12of free practice team maybe an undiagnosed issue that's come to the surface he has now gone in for that
00:50:17attack mode deployment but it's six minutes on the clock he's only got two laps left now of this
00:50:22race so that's a bitterly disappointing run for roland the second race where he's going to be failing
00:50:27to score here in formula e yeah so i think now the top four top uh in terms of catching motara i think
00:50:39evans is going to run out of time here because he's out of attack mode and mortara's done just enough
00:50:44to hold about a three second gap it's cassie that you need to watch here he needs to get ahead of
00:50:48january verne they need to be switching those two drivers because cassie's in a different battle now
00:50:52at this point verne lets him through as they come down into towards the bust of chicane and now it's all
00:50:57about casting maximizing that final minute of attack mode if he is going to close up on that battle for
00:51:02the podium with a lap and a half remaining here yeah you can see verlein he's got a good gap there
00:51:08three and a half seconds in turn evans three seconds or so behind motara uh look at this this is
00:51:15getting a bit tight isn't it is that bohemi going past jorik verne two of the most experienced drivers
00:51:20on the grid and bohemi now up into a points but he's already the point but he's now up into seventh place
00:51:27this is a great job from sebastian verne considering he started 18th on the grid he's done exactly what
00:51:32he did in miami a fortnight ago just ghosting his way to the front of the field a different strategy
00:51:37and it's working out very nicely indeed for the swiss driver yeah cassidy needs to get himself into
00:51:43da costa as quickly as possible he's going to get any chance of moving further up it's very tight
00:51:49back there in front of the costa muller just a second in front pascal verlein still with 3.2 seconds
00:51:57over edo mortara the gap has come down quite a bit over the last couple of laps but the lap time's
00:52:02okay for verlein he can afford to just ease off a little bit not worry too much yeah so pepe marty's got
00:52:10three minutes of attack roland's got four minutes of attack so we'll see just just looking at the
00:52:16strategy though i feel like barnard nato and gunter they're the three losers aren't they and the way
00:52:23this you know they were in the top four but nato was leading the race for a big chunk of it and the
00:52:29way they've played the strategy and the attack mode they they're nowhere they're 10th 11th and 12th
00:52:34it's really not worked out for them marty trying to move here on degrassi marty in attack mode this is
00:52:40a battle for 14th place outside line for the spaniard it's not going to be a third consecutive point
00:52:45scoring finish uh for pepe unfortunately here this afternoon teammate tiktum is just up the road in
00:52:5013th so he has really lost out but one more lap to go verlein the gap down to two and a half seconds
00:52:56between himself and pascal verlein last time around a 120.1 for verlein mortara a 1.192
00:53:03it's telling me to live to the middle of the straight
00:53:10how can i really conserve energy
00:53:15and obviously very unhappy about it and i wonder whether that's the falling verlein here then so
00:53:20the gap has come down to two and a half seconds i don't think this would be too much to worry about
00:53:23this final lap but you can see that mortara visibly is pushing however he's coming down to that final
00:53:27percents worth of energy yeah i mean mortara must be a bit confused in the cockpit as to how
00:53:34how that's played out where berlein ends up so far and i'm sure all of these other drivers must be
00:53:39wondering how did berlein end up 7.4 seconds ahead at the end of the cycle and you know that's the
00:53:44debris for later for now though look at this final lap evita simula yeah they have to be really
00:53:49conservative on energy here then aren't they because you can see they're coming down to those final sort of
00:53:53half a percent worth of energy but pascal berlein has absolutely commanded this race from the moment
00:53:59that pit boost strategy worked out for the german driver it is 100th start in formula e and he exits

00:55:59championship lead over from nick cassidy who managed to recover from a lowly grip position to sixth
00:56:05at the chequered flag but it's pascal berline his 100th start and his victory here in saudi arabia
00:56:11uh we just can't get like the first place but i think that it was well executed from everyone today
00:56:23to be honest after that start i thought it was pretty damn good so let's uh yeah
00:56:28it feels like a mega will spin
00:56:32anyway well good job good job tom uh yeah
00:56:37damage limitation wasn't it really from the moment the lights went out for
00:56:44mortara that's familiar voice for me i uh i worked with tom davis back in
00:56:492009 as my race engineer and when i was doing gp2 so uh nice to hear his voice and yeah exactly uh nice
00:56:56to hear his voice and as he said there tom's you know he's a calm cool sensible uh engineer and as he
00:57:03said to edo you know after the start i appreciate you're disappointed for not winning but after the
00:57:07start that was a really well recovered race by uh by everyone yeah phenomenal job from uh edward
00:57:13mortara and for the mahindra team p2 and also mitch evans third place for the uh jaguar driver
00:57:19that's really impressive he started down in 10th on the grid believe it or not that's his was his
00:57:24lowest starting position of season 12 and he recovers to a podium finish so another brilliant
00:57:29strategy called for the jaguars especially with both cars inside the top five but no one could
00:57:33deny this man here his ninth career victory for pascal verlein absolutely sensational job
00:57:41his 100th formula restart as we said and his last three out of four wins have come when starting
00:57:45third on the grid so uh keep an eye out on that stat see whether that's something symmetry that
00:57:51develops over the remainder of this season but that was simply superb for pascal
00:57:57and for edward mortara as well i think he'll be pretty pleased with that all things considered that
00:58:03race could have gone so so differently and for the moment the wheels lit up and the lights went out he
00:58:07was always going to be on the back foot but as we said a great recovery drive from him
00:58:11Pascal verlein down in park fermo then his victory was sensational which evans down there as well the
00:58:26winner from miami a couple of weeks ago a second successive podium for the kiwi and three different
00:58:31manufacturers on the podium also here in jeddah that was an absolutely cracking race it was really tight on
00:58:37energy right down to the very end of that one the pace certainly picked up in sort of the middle to
00:58:43latter stages of it and we saw drivers really beginning to push the limits and well we also
00:58:46saw the gap for pascal verlein's league coming right down to the end of that one eventually it
00:58:50settled around about 2.6 seconds or so at the checkered flag but mortara was definitely pushing on
00:58:57in that challenge for victory in the closing stages you wonder what might have been yeah i think evans
00:59:02he played something starting 10th um you know did did well to use the attack mode wisely late on
00:59:10i think it was a lap later than mortara my memory serves me right so made gains later on yeah so his
00:59:16first podium finish uh sorry his second podium finish in jeddah i beg your pardon and only his second
00:59:22podium finish in saudi arabia in the 14 stars when he finished third back when we raced at diria in 2021
00:59:28in the gen 2 era of formula e and well that was sensational what a drive and pascal just looked
00:59:35completely imperious over the course of that one yeah it was you know he he did the right things
00:59:41early on in terms of being aggressive to get in front of uh of gunter he you know got himself in the
00:59:48into a comfortable position where he wanted to then stayed cool when it came to managing that pace and the
00:59:55energy before the stop and unleashed the pace when he had for a year so uh he did a brilliant brilliant
01:00:01job yeah and everyone and mortara well the beauty of us racing here in jeddah is it's a double header
01:00:06so we get an opportunity to go again tomorrow of course a different style of race no pit boost to
01:00:11worry about on saturday however there is of course uh a different attack mode strategy two attack modes
01:00:17in the race tomorrow and it goes from six minutes up to eight minutes and they've got to do both
01:00:20deployments a bit more of a traditional style of formula e race man who's going to be disappointed
01:00:25is the chap in the background there dan tickton points finish was on the cards for him but it just
01:00:30didn't work out once more i i want to know what happened to natto today because he was leading
01:00:35he's leading in the early part of the race i wonder what happened to him and the two ds penskis
01:00:40because they were three of the top four along with werlein werlein's won it and they've ended up
01:00:4610th 11th and 13th yeah it's incredible how the tables can turn you wonder whether they just
01:00:50expended a bit too much energy in the early stages yeah had to save a little bit later on you know we
01:00:54heard verne's team radio saying about that and we knew it was going to be a tight energy critical race
01:01:00let's go down though and catch up with uh pascal werlein sensational job from the german on his 100th start
01:01:07yes your 100th start in formula e that was a very impressive victory at one point you had bolted
01:01:17you had absolutely bolted five six seconds ahead of the pack put us in the cockpit yeah it was a super
01:01:23nicely executed race um waited a bit with the pit boost but then also with the attack mode and
01:01:29um yeah i think that was the right strategy and basically when we went into the attack mode and after
01:01:35the pit boost i just tried to extend the lead so that no one is in a slipstream anymore and
01:01:40yeah we've managed that in the end i happy
01:01:48in the end yeah i could manage the pace and it was a very enjoyable race i had also good fights
01:01:55yeah pretty tough ones especially at the start but we went through it
01:01:59now we can see the sweat on your brow the pace of that race this was not peloton racing for me this
01:02:07was attacking from the start pushing all the way and then managing it to the finish yeah i think the
01:02:13pace in the race was was nicely managed so the energy management was was there but was not massive and
01:02:19you know we don't see those crazy races which we sometimes have in like in berlin or shanghai and
01:02:24and uh which are not so enjoyable um i rather prefer those races i think everyone does because it's
01:02:31just super chaotic and um yeah also qualifying today was relevant uh which is not always the case
01:02:39so um yeah super happy pace was good um it was very hot sweating a lot but yeah yeah it was nice
01:02:47worth it absolutely it's great to see you guys working hard behind the wheel this takes you to the top
01:02:53of the championship it's still early in this battle but uh another opportunity tomorrow to try
01:02:58and see if you can extend that further uh yeah the championship is not too relevant right now um
01:03:04obviously i wanted that win really badly it's uh uh it's been a while um and yeah great to to
01:03:11bounce back like that well congratulations enjoy the victory thank you
01:03:15win number nine for berlin here in jeddah also the chief the lead in the driver's championship as
01:03:24well to most nick cassidy down to second and he now has a sizable advantage 16 points is now the lead
01:03:32in the driver's championship for pascal berlin how quickly the tables have turned i have to say really
01:03:37good recovery from nick cassidy considering he wasn't in the points for the majority of that race that
01:03:40latest at most strategy at least limited sum of the damage inflicted by berlin and the porsche team
01:03:48here this afternoon mortara also will make some brown as well as nika muller and mitch evans
01:03:52in the championship jake dennis a legacy of finishing ninth also drops down as well as oliver roland
01:03:56failing to score let's catch up though with edo mortara p2 here in jeddah
01:04:01yeah eduardo congratulations podium finish but we saw it got really difficult for you off the line
01:04:08just put us in the cockpit what went wrong there it looked like you only had two wheel drive
01:04:12no not really what happened there but uh i guess that it was nice for the images
01:04:16uh last five places i guess that we will have to investigate uh with the datas actually uh what
01:04:23happened there uh definitely it was not nice and then like i had the cars all around me
01:04:28obviously banging uh banging doors uh not a nice moment uh but it got better uh after
01:04:35well we just missed the the very start of the race there you would just there was a complete
01:04:41burnout of smoke coming off your rear tires so you had to lift out of the power as you went off the
01:04:46line yeah so i i don't know exactly what happened there uh if we had only two wheel drive if if for
01:04:53whatever reason the front the front wheel drive didn't work uh correctly uh it was definitely not the
01:04:58best start uh that we had but uh look the the team has done a tremendous job especially on the starts
01:05:05since the beginning of the year so that one was not ideal but uh it's not the it's not the end of
01:05:10the world and we still finish p2 yeah i like the positivity a difficult start a good finish enjoy

01:05:27challenging start to that race his fourth podium finish in the gen 3 era have all actually come
01:05:32in the last nine races he's been on great form turned 31 years old had a chance to become the

01:05:41sadly it wasn't to be but given the way he is driving it seems like it's a matter of time

01:05:56successive podium here in jeddah mitch uh well great comeback from that 10th place starting position
01:06:03uh there was a lot of action happening the pace was fast all the way through the race you must be
01:06:09happy with the way the strategy played out yeah massively happy um pit boost last year wasn't really
01:06:13my uh wasn't really my thing so i put a massive focus into trying to um yeah make make things better
01:06:20this year and it was all about strategy uh the pace was extremely fast as you say like from quite
01:06:25early on so car balance was critical um i had a good energy kind of management throughout the first
01:06:31phase of the race which allowed me to attack quite hard after the pit stop and sent me some good moves
01:06:35but racing guys like jay you can you can put some faith in them but it was tight because i had
01:06:39antonio right in front of me and i didn't want to t-bone him which was actually closer than i thought
01:06:45but yeah just really well executed great comms in the race bit of management at the end with some
01:06:49some temps but uh overall very happy to get a third after my win last last time out yeah it just
01:06:55feels like you're on a bit of a roll right now getting the win in miami getting another podium
01:06:59here and you've got the opportunity to tomorrow yeah 100 i was i was gutted not to miss to miss out
01:07:04on the jewels today just to start a little bit further up but yeah i was able to recover so yeah i think
01:07:08the one lap pace is going to be a bit of a focus tomorrow and um obviously different race you know a
01:07:13bit more of traditional formula race but uh we're in good shape and we'll try and build build from here
