00:00AI was supposed to make our lives easier, but increasingly software engineers are finding that it's making their lives a
00:05whole lot more difficult.
00:06They say that they're suffering from AI fatigue, but what happens when AI accelerates the pace of your job so
00:12much that it just starts to burn you out?
00:14What software engineers are experiencing could soon become your reality.
00:17That's because they believe what they're seeing right now in tech is what's in store for other industries.
00:22AI has advanced so rapidly in terms of its capabilities of coding and programming that now it's able to build
00:28itself in some cases.
00:30And that sort of capability isn't likely to be limited to tech.
00:33Already, AI companies are aiming to disrupt basic white-collar jobs, including in finance and the legal fields, and there's
00:40likely to be a whole lot more in store.
00:42Engineers are saying that the tools that are supposed to make them better at their jobs are actually making it
00:46more difficult.
00:47But how can that be?
00:48That's because the pace of what they're doing has increased drastically as AI has reached the level of capabilities of
00:54being able to do most of the basic programming by itself.
00:57Before, they may have been able to focus on one or two tasks a day.
01:00Now they're being pulled in a bunch of different directions.
01:03It also means that their day-to-day is far different because instead of just sitting down and programming, they're
01:08waiting for the AI to output the code that then they have to review and edit themselves.
01:13Engineers say the best way to combat this type of AI fatigue is to pace yourself, to take breaks, to
01:19set boundaries, and not be afraid to say no.
01:21It's about understanding that not every single task needs to be assisted by AI, and when you are using AI,
01:27to set helpful timers to make sure you don't go overboard.
