After losing his wife, John Fuller has raised thousands of dollars for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the Tomaree Breast Cancer Support Group and the McGrath Foundation through the Rotary Club of Salamander Bay, and continues to raise awareness in the hope of a cure.

00:02Um, yeah, as I said, 6th of March would have been our 50th wedding anniversary.
00:10Um, Beth and I met through a, we were both, Beth attended Penrith Youth Fellowship,
00:16United Church, I was attending St Mary's United Church and we had a joint get-together at Penrith
00:23and I walked into the room and I saw her straight away type of thing and I just decided then
00:30and there that, um, you know, she was the one for me.
00:34How lucky I was, Beth, we crossed paths that night, um, you know, she was just very special
00:44to me.
00:45I got married on my birthday, yeah, I was 23, Beth was not quite 19, she was 19 in the
00:53May,
00:54and, uh, so, as I said, got married when I was 23, so I knew how many years I'd been
00:59married,
01:00could never forget the date and I used to say that she was the best birthday present
01:04that I've ever had, so, yeah, she was just a wonderful, wonderful person.
01:10We, we never really embraced Valentine's Day because we, we thought that every day to us
01:15is Valentine's Day.
01:17Oh, every day should be Valentine's Day.
01:20You know, look after each other, support each other.
