President Donald Trump warned that failure to reach a nuclear deal with Iran would be “very traumatic” for Tehran, following his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump said he prefers diplomacy but insisted Iran must agree quickly to what he described as a “very fair and very good deal.” Otherwise, he signaled consequences could follow within weeks, stressing that ultimate decisions rest with him.

Referencing a prior military action he called “Midnight Hammer,” Trump suggested Iran had previously missed its opportunity for compromise. He emphasized that while he and Netanyahu had a productive discussion, any potential escalation would depend on whether Tehran accepts U.S. terms swiftly.

00:00Following your meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu yesterday, has your thinking changed at all as it relates to these negotiations
00:07with Iran?
00:07We have to make a deal. We have to make a deal. Otherwise, it's going to be very traumatic.
00:12Very traumatic. I don't want that to happen, but we have to make a deal.
00:17They should have made a deal the first time and they got midnight hammer instead.
00:21And this will be very
00:23traumatic for Iran if they don't make a deal. Look, if they don't make a deal, then
00:28it'll be a different story. But we had a very good meeting yesterday with Bibi Netanyahu.
00:35And he understands, but it's ultimately up to me. If the deal isn't a very fair deal and a very
00:41good deal with Iran,
00:42then it's going to be, I think, a very difficult time for them in the back.
00:50I guess over the next month, something like that. Yeah, shouldn't take, I mean, it should happen quickly.
00:55They should agree very quickly. Yeah.
00:57Mr. President, we might be heading into a partial government shutdown.
01:00When was the last time you spoke with Chuck Schumer?
01:02And do you still feel Democrats are negotiating in good faith?
01:05Well, a week ago I spoke, but, you know, we have to protect our law enforcement.
01:10Actually, the Supreme Court gave a ruling or one of the courts gave a very big ruling on masks that
01:15you
01:15have the right to use them, you know, for personal protection if you want.
01:18So I don't know how that interjects. You know, they want our law enforcement to be totally vulnerable and
01:26put them in a lot of danger. They have some things that are really very hard to,
01:30very, very hard to approve, frankly.
01:33As you know, it only, it's only, we had various of the other bills that's all done,
01:39but we're left with this one. We have to protect our law enforcement. Very important.
01:43Mr. President, why does Prime Minister Netanyahu want you to stop negotiating with Iran?
01:50He is, you're saying, stop entertaining, stop talking to them?
01:55Didn't say that. We didn't discuss that. I'll talk to them as long as I like.
01:59And we'll see if we can get a deal with them. And if we can't,
02:01we'll have to go to phase two. Phase two will be
02:05very tough for them. I'm not looking for that.
02:08Mr. President, there are currently zero Israeli hostages left in Gaza because of you.
02:12Thank you. Thank you for that.
02:14And now that the war is ending in Gaza and Israel, I wanted to ask,
02:18do you believe Bibi bears any responsibility for the security failures that we saw on October 7th?
02:22Mr. President, well, October 7th was a rough time, and I guess everybody's responsible,
02:26which you had to look, but it was a terrible attack. It was a sneak attack.
02:32It was as violent as I've, you know, unfortunately, I've seen
02:36some of the results at levels that probably even you, good reporter, but probably you haven't seen.
02:41It was a horrible thing that took place.
02:44People were surprised. It was a surprise attack. Nobody saw that coming. He didn't see it coming.
02:49Nobody else would have seen it coming if they were in his position. I don't believe.
02:53But I can tell you, he's been a very good wartime prime minister. He's been very strong.
02:58We've worked with him very well. We had tremendous success with
03:02Iran and everything else we've done. And he really has been. He's been, you know,
03:06extraordinary as far as a wartime prime minister. Not easy.
03:10And, you know, you have a president that refuses to give him a pardon.
03:14I think that man should be ashamed of himself, a pardon over this trial that's going on.
03:19The president of Israel, the primary power he's got is the power to give pardons. And he's not,
03:25you know, he said he's given it five different times, but he doesn't want to do it because I guess
03:30he loses his power. I think the people of Israel should really shame him. He's he's disgraceful
03:36for not giving it. He should give it. But Bibi has been a great wartime prime minister. And I've
03:43been the best friend to Israel, I think, that they've ever had. A lot of people say beyond precedence
03:49that they've ever had. And we will continue to be.
04:00And we'll see you in the app now.
