00:00Jackson Hole isn't just for skiers. Here are five things you can do here in the winter.
00:04We're staying at the Rusty Parrot Lodge, a second generation family-owned luxury boutique hotel.
00:08After a fire in 2019, it spent five years rebuilding into a rustic cozy retreat,
00:13making it the perfect home base for your winter adventures. First, we're wildlife viewing in Grand
00:18Teton National Park. We had a naturalist guide from Ecotour Adventures who brought us to the
00:22best spots to see moose, elk, and bison. We could even observe them from miles away using binoculars
00:27and spotting scopes. To get even closer, we took a sleigh ride through the National Elk Refuge. This
00:32is a century-old tradition where you can see thousands of elk that migrate here each winter.
00:36Next is snowshoeing at the base of the mountains. We chose an easy open route that led us to this
00:40iconic barn. Spent a day at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, which has legendary terrain and breathtaking
00:45views. You can also take the tram up to 10,000 feet elevation to see the views from every angle.
00:49After a full day of adventure, head back to the hotel to unwind at the Body Sage Spa, where you
00:54can get a relaxing massage or hydrating facial that's custom for your skin, or enjoy an upscale
00:59dinner at the Wild Sage, where the menu changes frequently to highlight fresh local ingredients,
01:03like this beef tartare with local ranch-raised beef served with a tapioca cracker,
01:08duck with brandy cherries, and a decadent smoked creme brulee to end the night.
