00:00I cooked bacon five different ways, and I'm going to tell you which one's the best.
00:03Starting out with a classic skillet method.
00:05Just place it in a cool skillet, and as it heats up, the fat begins to render out.
00:08The skillet isn't my favorite because the bacon sticks pretty badly,
00:11but the method is straightforward.
00:12Cooking, flipping, often, until it's done how you like it.
00:15It's good because you can gauge the doneness of each piece individually.
00:18The downside is this way requires the most babysitting and makes the biggest mess.
00:21Next, the oven.
00:22Just place the bacon on a parchment-lined baking sheet
00:25and bake it at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, and it's perfect.
00:27I like that you get bacon grease to pour off for cooking later, and the cleanup is super easy.
00:32The microwave is next.
00:33You just place the bacon between two layers of paper towels
00:36and microwave it for one minute per piece,
00:38and then I like to add an extra minute for crispy bacon.
00:41Depending on how many slices you're cooking,
00:42the pieces on the inside are a little bit on the chewy side.
00:45In my house, that works because we are half team crispy and half team chewy.
00:49The updated techniques are next.
00:51First, the air fryer.
00:52Just simply place it in the air fryer at 390 degrees for about 10 minutes,
00:55and you want to flip it halfway through.
00:57I like this way because it doesn't require babysitting,
00:59and it creates crispy bacon, little mess, and nicely rendered fat.
01:02Finally, cooking your bacon in water.
01:04This one feels wrong, but it works.
01:06Starting the bacon in water helps allow the fat to render while cooking evenly before browning.
01:10What I like is that it doesn't stick as much as the original skillet method.
01:13After the bacon is cooked halfway, the water is gone,
01:16and then you just cook it until it's crispy.
01:17When it comes to taste, none are bad because bacon.
01:20But overall, the winning way to cook bacon is in the oven.
01:23It's the easiest, least messy, and best tasting.
01:26Try it for yourself.
