00:00Good night.
00:01Love you.
00:02You changed your diaper?
00:03Yep.
00:04I can smell her.
00:05When you're in the bedroom trying to get a little frisky time and you've got a baby
00:07kangaroo over there, that's a buzz kill.
00:08I love the smell of roo poo in the evening.
00:09I have a pair of my dad's underwear.
00:10Your dad?
00:11And I smell it, like, you know?
00:14Sneaking underwear all together is weird.
00:15But this?
00:16I...
00:17It's mind-buffling.
00:18I usually keep all the mugs out.
00:19Sometimes I like different colors, sizes.
00:21I have to use the bathroom really, really quick.
00:23I don't know.
00:24I'm trying to get a little frisky time and you've got a baby kangaroo over there.
00:26That's a buzz kill.
00:27I love the smell of roo poo in the evening.
00:29I have a pair of my dad's underwear.
00:31Your dad?
00:32And I smell it, like, you know?
00:35Sneaking underwear all together is weird.
00:38But this?
00:39I...
00:40It's mind-buffling.
00:41I usually keep all the mugs out.
00:43Really, really quick.
00:44I probably go to the bathroom about 20 times a day.
00:46And it just keeps, like, right now I have to go.
00:48Excuse me.
00:49Your belly's been okay?
00:50No diarrhea, constipation, anything like that?
00:52I have diarrhea every day.
00:53But I thought that's just, like, a part of pooping.
00:55No.
00:56It isn't.
00:57No.
01:13No.
01:14No.
01:15No.
01:16No.
01:17No.
01:18No.
01:19No.
01:20No.
01:21I have to look around, okay?
01:22Yeah.
01:23All right.
01:25My name is Anissa.
01:26I'm 29 years old.
01:27I live in Tucson, Arizona.
01:28Ooh, this one is really pretty.
01:30When did you order this one?
01:31I got some orders in, like, Friday.
01:34Oh, my gosh.
01:35She is so cute.
01:36I love to go shopping for wigs and hair products.
01:39I'm a hairdresser slash makeup artist.
01:42I still have some in the back.
01:43Yes.
01:44This is lovely.
01:45My friend Monia, she owns her beauty supply shop.
01:49Okay, yeah.
01:50Yeah, this is nice.
01:51Like, and this is, like, 360, and you can, like, put in a ponytail.
01:55Yes.
01:56My dream is to eventually own my own salon.
02:01But I lost a lot of clients because of my addiction.
02:05I'm addicted to smelling my dad's underwear.
02:24Yeah, I'm sorry.
02:25That wasn't, like, for the camera.
02:26Like, I actually had to do it.
02:28When life gets a little bit too stressful for me and my anxiety starts to take over,
02:39snuffing my dad's underwear is just, like, something that I need to have.
02:43I tried to, like, pick up hobbies, take anxiety pills.
02:47It didn't work.
02:48When I'm working with a client, I would tie the underwear, like, around, like, almost like a mask,
02:54like, around my face.
02:56That way, I can just constantly get the smell like it's there.
03:00Because even though I sniff my dad's underwear, I'm still a businesswoman.
03:04I still have to make a living.
03:05Like, I'm still a normal person.
03:07I've been doing this for over a decade.
03:18My dad and my mom separated.
03:20I was around the age of, like, maybe 9, 10.
03:24And it was just my dad raising me and my sister.
03:27Like, you know, he became super dad.
03:30We were given chores, but I was kind of in charge of washing the clothes.
03:34I just started to smell the clothes to see, like, what's really dirty or not.
03:38And everything else just smelled pretty normal to me.
03:41But as soon as I smelled my dad's underwear, it just, it just gave me this instant high,
03:49if you will, you know?
03:50And I just couldn't stop.
03:52Like, I just, the more I did it, the more better I felt.
03:56And, you know, it's just, it's like an intoxication.
04:04Like, I don't, I don't know how to explain it.
04:07These are fresh pair.
04:09When I mean fresh, like, as soon as he takes them off.
04:12So, what I want to do usually is, like, fill it first.
04:16And that's, like, very comforting.
04:17And then, you know, I just take a big sniff.
04:20There.
04:26And just like that, like, I feel the energy rush.
04:35Like, I feel the relaxation, the calmness.
04:39I was caught red-handed.
04:41I was washing clothes, and I just was back there sniffing.
04:45And my sister came in, and she kind of looked at me for a second.
04:49And she was, like, disgusted at first.
04:52Like, but once I talked to her and explained and, you know,
04:57about just, like, where I was at mentally,
05:00she just was like, okay, like, we're going to get through this.
05:03And that was, like, three years ago.
05:06The feeling is so, like, out of this world.
05:10It's like taking that first sip of coffee when you first wake up.
05:13The fumes is grassy, like, you know, kind of earthy.
05:20Like, like a nice soil.
05:23Okay, these are mine for today.
05:26The most I can go without sniffing my dad's underwear would have to be maybe 25 minutes.
05:32And then I start to, like, not feel normal.
05:36And that really gets, like, really stressful.
05:45Yeah.
05:47I just make sure that I have easy access to all the underwear that I stash around the house.
05:53So I have some in the bathroom, in my room, in the laundry room, in the kitchen.
05:58Would you, like, test out other people's underwear?
06:01One, one time I did test out with an ex-boyfriend of mine.
06:06And I was like, oh my gosh, I'm going to throw up.
06:08Like, this isn't, this isn't the same.
06:11Like, it's actually, like, disgusting, you know?
06:16Every three to four weeks, I would try to, like, go out to buy my dad some new underwear.
06:24So he won't realize, like, the missing ones that I have.
06:29Yeah.
06:31Nothing seems to, like, relax me more than the scent of my father's underwear.
06:43And, you know, I just figure since it's not hurting anyone, it's not hurting my health, like, why stop?
06:50The only problem I see about it is that, you know, I haven't been honest with my dad.
07:03Like, I fear that once I do let my dad know, like, what's really going on, he's not going to want to, like, talk to me anymore.
07:12And he just might feel betrayed.
07:14And that's the part that's eating me alive.
07:17Wait, actually, I have to stop, I'm sorry.
07:19I'm going to do this in a while.
07:26Okay.
07:27Marcia, are you hungry?
07:39Is that yummy, huh?
07:40Is that good?
07:41My name is Marcia.
07:42I'm from Seeley, Texas.
07:43Okay.
07:44Can I have this?
07:46No.
07:47Let me have.
07:48And I'm a kangaroo mom.
07:50This is Risi.
08:04She's about nine months old.
08:06She's 15 pounds.
08:08You showing all your glory?
08:11Risi lives inside because she's still a baby, but she has free reign to go anywhere in the house.
08:18The biggest risk right now would be to let her outside without supervision because she does want to roam.
08:24She does want to hop fast.
08:26She wants to stretch her legs.
08:28She will live inside until she gets over 25 pounds.
08:31Right now, she's about 15.
08:37And then we'll put her outside slowly because right now she sleeps in her pouch in bed with us.
08:42On my side, we spoon.
08:44And so...
08:45You all finished?
08:46Yep.
08:47She's all done.
08:48She's ready for night time.
08:49She gonna sleep through the night?
08:50I hope so.
08:51I hope so.
08:52My husband gets lucky because the kangaroo does not sleep in between us.
08:57But we have in the past had the kangaroos in the middle.
09:01And they get up in the middle of the night and they have jumped on him.
09:04And he does not care for that at all.
09:09Do I at least get a kiss?
09:11Yes.
09:12Okay.
09:13Love you.
09:14Love you.
09:15All right.
09:16Love you.
09:17Love you.
09:18These are the kids we've never had together.
09:19But you know what it's like when you're in the bedroom trying to get a little frisky time and you get that knock on the door and the door opens?
09:26Imagine that when you've got a baby kangaroo over there banging its feet against the closet door.
09:33That's a buzz kill.
09:34So it can kind of ruin the moment.
09:37So.
09:38Love you, sweetie.
09:40You change your diaper?
09:41Yes.
09:43You sure?
09:46Well, I can smell her.
09:54Love the smell of rude poo in the evening.
09:58I did not grow up with any exotic animals.
10:01We had one dog and that was it.
10:04Reesey.
10:05Hi.
10:06I was actually looking for a farm animal and I went to a show in Houston and there was a gentleman there bottle feeding a baby kangaroo.
10:18She was so cute I couldn't resist the face.
10:20And so after doing my research, I told my husband, I walked in, I said, we are going to get a kangaroo.
10:26And his reaction was, we are going to do what?
10:29Oh, there we go.
10:31And six days later, we got our first kangaroo.
10:45Reesey.
10:47So this is the kangaroo room.
10:48There is no guest room.
10:50It's just a kangaroo room.
10:54Hang out right there.
10:56She can eat her hay, drink water, hang out, hop around, lay down.
11:01Good girl.
11:03This is her playpen.
11:04She's made a mess.
11:05She gets in her, her tail hits everything.
11:08It is 100% like having a baby.
11:10The whole diaper thing, the bottle feeding.
11:12My kids are grown and sometimes you kind of miss having a little kid around.
11:19She doesn't want it to end.
11:22She wants an ongoing source of fluids.
11:28Okay.
11:30Let's get some diapers.
11:32You okay in there?
11:33Mm-hmm.
11:34Comparing a kangaroo and a toddler to me are pretty much the same thing.
11:38You're doing the same thing.
11:39You got to change the diaper.
11:40So I'm cutting holes in the diapers for her tail so that when I put them on, I can just put them on and then I put them on backwards.
11:46So the tabs, so she can't undo the tabs in front of her because sometimes they like to scratch their belly so she could actually scratch the tabs and get her diaper off.
11:57So I put them on her backwards.
11:59You got to feed them and you got to keep a really watchful eye on them.
12:02I probably change her diaper 10 times a day.
12:06I know.
12:07Nobody likes this.
12:09I know.
12:10Hold on.
12:11No, no, no, no, no.
12:12Come here.
12:16Nope.
12:17Hold on.
12:18Hold on.
12:19Hold on.
12:20Hold on.
12:24I don't care if people judge me or what they think about me having kangaroos.
12:29Aww.
12:31You're so sweet.
12:32And sometimes, you know, I think it's fun to watch my husband go, oh, goodness, a big kangaroo in the house.
12:38I think it's fun.
12:40So in five more pounds, when she gets to 20 pounds, you start weaning her off formula completely.
12:45I can wean her off the bed, too.
12:48Come on.
12:49She's a good little snuggler.
12:51When she gets bigger, I'll stop putting her in bed.
12:53But right now, she's fine.
12:54She's still a baby.
12:55Having a baby kangaroo is a lot.
12:57Would you like to get your bed back for a little bit of time to yourself?
13:01It would be nice.
13:03So there will probably be a conversation about setting the kangaroo out in the yard.
13:08So we'll cross that bridge when it happens.
13:10I absolutely love the taste of coffee.
13:11If I felt sick, then I would go to a doctor.
13:12If you don't feel sick, what do you go to a doctor for if you don't feel sick?
13:13I'm fine.
13:14My children are completely embarrassed by me because I just can't control the hyperness.
13:16Once you stop that, you're going to crash.
13:17You know.
13:18Oh, you're the expert now?
13:19Is that what you're doing?
13:20I didn't tell you because, like, I didn't want to lose you as a friend.
13:21Your dad, I don't know how he's going to feel about that.
13:22But you have to let him know.
13:23I'm so nervous to tell my dad, and honestly, you know, I don't know how he's going to react.
13:50I love to come to diners because diner coffee is the absolute best.
14:15You can't get better than diner coffee in Jersey.
14:18That's it.
14:21If you want to, like, put, like, an order of toast in.
14:24A toast?
14:25Want a toast?
14:26Yes.
14:30I'm Angela.
14:31I'm 45 from the Jersey Shore, and I am addicted to drinking coffee.
14:38Diners are so busy that they don't even realize that they're serving me a lot of coffee.
14:41So it's buy one cup, get the rest free.
14:44It's, like, nonstop.
14:45It's a flow of coffee.
14:48She drank it all.
14:49I had to wait for a new cup because she drank it.
14:50I'm a paying customer, but I have to wait.
14:51Can I have some coffee?
14:52Please, please, please.
14:53I don't really know her name, but I see her.
14:54I already know the drill.
14:55Like, she just comes in, get the coffee, and constant refills.
14:56Honey, can I have another cup?
14:58Honey, can I have another cup?
15:00I usually keep all the mugs out.
15:01Sometimes I like different colors, sizes.
15:02I usually keep all the mugs out.
15:04but I see her, I already know the drill.
15:06Like, she just comes in, get the coffee,
15:08and constant refills.
15:10Honey, can I have another cup?
15:26I usually keep all the mugs out.
15:28Sometimes I like different colors, sizes.
15:32It's a collectible thing, it's like a hobby.
15:33I collect mugs.
15:37If I had a hundred guests,
15:38everybody could have a cup of coffee.
15:41So, a lot of times, I buy a whole bunch of these a week,
15:44and I probably go through three of these a day.
15:47Some people think 10 cups of coffee is an addiction.
15:49Let me tell you, that is nothing.
15:51I could drink 100 cups of coffee a day.
15:54Nobody can drink more than me.
15:56Milk-wise, I'm into the oat milk.
15:59I'm not really into dairy.
16:00I get a tummy ache with that.
16:01But I like to keep, like, French vanilla, hazelnut, sweet cream, all different types of flavors.
16:08Just, it feels like you're getting something that you paid for outside, but you could do it yourself.
16:12I absolutely love the taste of coffee.
16:17It gets me moving back and forth and doing the happy dance, because I love my coffee, I love my coffee.
16:22It gets you excited.
16:24It really does.
16:25I totally like breakfast blend in the morning, and then I'll go to more expressos and lattes during the day, and I'll just keep drinking.
16:33I have to use the bathroom really, really quick.
16:35I probably go to the bathroom about 20 times a day, and it just keeps, like, right now I have to go, excuse me.
16:40And it actually just reminded me, talking about feed just makes you go feed.
16:46Over the years, I feel that my family's invited me less and less places.
16:50And I don't get invited to weddings, had a couple cousins that got married, wasn't invited.
16:55It affected my relationship.
16:57I chose coffee over a man, definitely.
17:03Hi, guys.
17:04Hi.
17:05How was school?
17:06It was good.
17:07It was good.
17:08My children are completely embarrassed by me, yes.
17:11Hey, baby.
17:12Hey, David.
17:15My kids tell me daily to stop drinking coffee.
17:17Too much coffee.
17:18It's too much coffee.
17:19You haven't even eaten anything today.
17:21So what?
17:25It's really hard to go out in public with her because she's really, always really energetic because she drinks so much coffee.
17:31They won't bring me out.
17:32They don't invite me anywhere.
17:33My son stopped playing sports because he didn't want me at the games because I was being too embarrassing for him.
17:37Yelling at the coach or yelling at the other parents or yelling at kids sometimes because I just can't control the hyperness.
17:43You got kicked out the last game for being too loud.
17:46I was, like, excited.
17:47I was very passionate.
17:49My friends, they think it's kind of weird sometimes and embarrassing, but they don't really say it.
17:54But I can tell.
18:08There you go.
18:10All right.
18:11I'm going to eat one second.
18:12What's that?
18:13I mean, we can...
18:14Nothing.
18:15Enjoy the food.
18:16Enjoy your dinner.
18:17Munga, munga, munga.
18:18Tomorrow I'm going to be busy.
18:19I have my doctor's appointment tomorrow for my physical.
18:22Maybe you should go with him.
18:24If I felt sick, then I would go to a doctor.
18:25If you don't feel sick, what do you go to a doctor for if you don't feel sick?
18:28I'm fine.
18:30Mom, if, like, a whole bunch of doctors and a whole bunch of scientists did research to
18:35tell you that only, like, five cups of coffee is good a day, who are you to tell them?
18:39They went to college for it.
18:40Did you?
18:41It's okay to be addicted to coffee.
18:43It's just water and coffee beans.
18:45That's all I'm doing.
18:46I guess the only problem about drinking coffee is, like, I don't sleep.
18:49I don't eat or sleep.
19:00You're very energetic because you have caffeine running through your veins.
19:03And once you stop that, you're going to crash, you know?
19:06Oh, you're the expert now?
19:07Is that what you're doing?
19:08We're really worried about you.
19:10In all seriousness.
19:16I'll go to the doctor. How about that?
19:18And I will prove to you that I can drink coffee all I want and I'm fine. I'm fine.
19:23That's all we wanted.
19:26I really don't want to go to the doctor, but my kids suggested it.
19:30And I love my kids more than anything in this world.
19:32I think they're trying to prove to me that the coffee is hurting me.
19:35But at the end, I don't think that it's going to make that much of a difference.
19:56Oh, my gosh.
19:58Hi.
19:59How are you?
20:00Oh, my gosh.
20:01Oh, my gosh.
20:02It's so good to see you.
20:04Monia, she's one of the only best friends that I have.
20:08I've known her for about a good five years.
20:12I'm so happy, like, you know, that you decided to meet me here, you know,
20:16because it's a lot of things that, you know, I got to get off my chest to you.
20:20I feel like it's very important to let my friend Monia know about my addiction
20:24because it's been going on for so long, I'm just, like, waiting to get caught.
20:28Monia, she's a true friend, and I hope she'll be here to support me.
20:32It's kind of hard to explain, like, you know, I just, like, hope that, like, you know, well, I can show you.
20:39So, um, I have a pair of my dad's underwear, and...
20:49Your dad?
20:50Yeah.
20:51And I smell it, like, you know?
20:53It helps me, like, it's a coping mechanism for me.
21:00So, um...
21:01Sniffing your dad's underwear?
21:05Like, sniffing underwear altogether is weird.
21:09But this, like, I...
21:13It's mind-buffling.
21:15Why your dad's underwear?
21:17So, it was something, like, that was so innocent at first.
21:21So, for me, I was just, like, when I first smelled it, like...
21:25I don't know how to describe it.
21:26Like, do you know, like, when you're so tired in the morning,
21:30you gotta go to work, and that first sip of coffee?
21:33Yeah.
21:34Right.
21:35So, it's kind of like that, and...
21:37It was just, like, so magical.
21:40I mainly do it when I have anxiety.
21:44So, that's, like, you sniff your dad's underwear to cope.
21:50I know it's weird.
21:53But, um, if you don't want to be my friend, like, I understand.
21:56But I just thought that you deserved to know the truth.
22:03Listen, this is weird, okay?
22:06This is...
22:07I know.
22:08I never would expect that.
22:10But we all have our problems, right?
22:13Right.
22:14And I really appreciate you telling me this.
22:16Yeah.
22:17It's personal.
22:19And I would not abandon you.
22:22I love you.
22:25I didn't tell you because, like, I didn't want to lose you as a friend.
22:29Like, you've been such a good friend to me.
22:31Everybody else, like, has, like, abandoned me,
22:34or, like, just basically, like, kicked me to the curb.
22:37Like, you know, that's too weird.
22:38I would not judge you.
22:40Well, I mean...
22:41I don't know how your dad...
22:43Well...
22:44Like, if he hears that, I don't know how he's gonna feel about that.
22:50But I know one thing for sure.
22:52You have to let him know.
22:53I'm so nervous to tell my dad.
22:56And honestly, you know, I don't know how he's gonna react.
22:59Like, now that you've told me...
23:02Right.
23:03...you will tell him, and all together, we will try to figure this out.
23:06I don't think that this is gonna be easy, but it's worth a try.
23:12My dad, he's a great dad.
23:14And, you know, just hiding this from him for so many years,
23:18it just always felt unnatural.
23:20And I just finally had enough of hiding from him.
23:23And I'm just gonna let him know.
23:25I hope that you can look past this and still see me as your daughter.
23:34You know how you always say, like, what happened to my underwear?
23:37Like, where's my underwear going?
23:39And how, like, I always ask, like, to wash, like, the clothes and stuff.
23:43So you stealing my underwears to keep them with you?
24:08There's Dab Dab and Snoopy's.
24:10Look!
24:11Can you go say hi?
24:13Huh?
24:14I have three kangaroos, and two of them live outside.
24:17I have Daphne, and she's approximately three years old.
24:21I have Snoopy.
24:22He's about a year and a half old.
24:24And then I have Reesey.
24:26Can you say hi, Snoopy?
24:27Oh, real kisses.
24:29How sweet.
24:31Oh.
24:32So we're slowly introducing Reesey to the older kangaroos.
24:36Hi, Princess Daphne.
24:38Hi.
24:39Watch out.
24:43Okay.
24:44Hi.
24:45No, no, no.
24:46It's gonna be very hard when I move her outside, just because she's, you know, the baby.
24:54She's been my, you know, everything I do every day revolves around her.
24:58But just like with your children, you raise them from babies and you get them out of the house.
25:02And that's the end goal with her as well.
25:04You're furry.
25:06You furry.
25:07Can I have kisses?
25:08Once I get used to her being out there, it'll be, it'll, it'll get easier.
25:11I know Snoopy and Daphne will ultimately protect her as well.
25:16Hi.
25:17Hey.
25:18Give me a kiss.
25:19Give me a kiss.
25:21Yep.
25:22Come here, Daphs.
25:23Right here.
25:27Whole new meaning to double fisted.
25:30Having a baby kangaroo is a lot.
25:32Aw.
25:33Good girl.
25:34They're not for everyone.
25:35Good girl.
25:36Good girl.
25:37I know the joy that all the kangaroos have brought to Marsha and I.
25:41I wouldn't give that up for the world.
25:43Not at all.
25:45She likes it outside.
25:46I'll leave her out here.
25:48Should I get my bed back tonight?
25:50No.
25:51It's still too early.
25:52You don't want to leave her out tonight?
25:53I'm not leaving her out tonight.
25:54Come on.
25:55Or for the next months to go.
25:58Way too early.
26:02Oh my God.
26:03That's the first time she tried to lay down like the other Vic Bruce do.
26:06Yeah.
26:08She did it.
26:10Oh.
26:11Oh my God.
26:13That's like a huge moment when they do that.
26:14Like when a baby takes their first step?
26:16Yes.
26:17Yeah.
26:18The longest I've been away from Reesey is probably four hours.
26:22I don't want to be away from her that long.
26:25Mike, he is just so kind and giving and loving that he will just go along with me.
26:31And once Reesey lives outside, we'll have more freedom unless we get another baby.
26:36Would you get another baby, King Rue?
26:38Absolutely not.
26:42Maybe.
26:43And I may change my mind.
26:46Can I have kisses?
26:47Hey.
26:48I love you, buddy.
27:01Hey, good morning, Dad.
27:02Good morning.
27:03How are you?
27:04It's good.
27:05How you doing?
27:06I'm good.
27:07Where are you off today?
27:08You going to make me a cup of coffee?
27:09No.
27:10Do it yourself.
27:11Wow.
27:12Right now I'm just like super nervous because I'm about to make a cup of coffee.
27:14So, I'm about to give a break.
27:15No, I'm about to give a break.
27:16I'm about to give a break.
27:17I'm gonna attack her.
27:18There's no big one.
27:19I can't tell you I'm about to give a break.
27:20I know.
27:21OK, I'll carry a break.
27:22I'm about to be in control.
27:23But what do you want to get a break?
27:24I'm about to lose.
27:25I'm going to figure out all of the time.
27:26I'm about to...
27:27I'm about to give a break.
27:28You're about to give the break.
27:29And I'm about to go to my mom and a little door, like brother.
27:32I'm about to give a break.
27:33What do you want to get the break?
27:34No, do it yourself.
27:35Wow.
27:36Right now I'm just like super nervous because I'm about to reveal to my dad that I'm sniffing
27:44his underwear.
27:46Honestly, I don't know how my dad's going to react.
27:51Like he's very unpredictable.
27:53I'm ready to tell my dad because I'm sick and tired of how it's just been impacting
27:57my life and right now I'm just ready for a change and I'm ready to take this load off
28:02my shoulders.
28:04All right.
28:05What's going on?
28:07Okay.
28:08Well, I worked up this courage to tell you what I've been doing and I apologize that it took
28:19this long and when you and mom split up like...
28:23That was many of years ago.
28:25Yeah, I know.
28:26But it still affected me and basically...
28:31What affected you?
28:33Her leaving, her abandoning us and basically, you know, I hope that you can look past this
28:40and still see me as your daughter but I have something that I want to show you.
28:48Um...
28:49What is that?
28:53It probably might look familiar to you.
28:57What are you...
28:58It's a pair of your underwears.
28:59What are you doing for my underwear and your bra?
29:03Uh, well, you know, I...
29:05What are you doing?
29:06What are you doing?
29:07Don't...
29:08What are you doing?
29:09Don't...
29:10What are you doing?
29:11What is this?
29:12I'm smelling your underwear.
29:16I've just, like, been stealing...
29:21Like, you know how you always say, like, what happened to my underwear?
29:24Like, where's my underwear going and stuff like that?
29:27And, like, how, like, I always ask, like, to wash, like, the clothes and stuff.
29:34And, um, I...
29:35So you stealing my underwears to keep them with you?
29:41Um, not, like, to only keep it with me.
29:44I smell them.
29:45I love the way that they smell.
29:46That's weird.
29:47That's weird.
29:48Why don't you just wash your own stuff and smell your own stuff, then?
29:51Uh, I don't wash them.
29:54And you're super nasty, then.
29:56Like, what are you doing?
29:57Well...
29:58It's weird, like...
29:59The thing is, I understand.
30:00It's weird.
30:01I just love the scent of you.
30:02No, that's weird.
30:03I love the smell of your underwear.
30:04That's...
30:05Look, honestly, you need to go see a doctor behind something like that.
30:08Like, I'm super upset about this, too.
30:10Well, I'm planning on seeing...
30:11I understand, but, you know, you're still my dad, and I'm returning every single pair.
30:15I'm gonna be honest with you.
30:17Yeah, and I...
30:18You need help.
30:19And I'm your father.
30:20Yeah, let me show you something.
30:21You're not supposed to be doing that.
30:22No, I don't want to see nothing no more.
30:25I was trying to figure out where all my underwear's going.
30:28And then you say you smelling...
30:30You sniffing my underwear?
30:32Well, only...
30:33Yeah, only the front part, not the back.
30:34Only the front part?
30:35Yeah.
30:36Like, how is you smelling my used underwear?
30:39Well, it makes me literally feel comfortable.
30:42Like, just...
30:43Nah, you got some...
30:44There's something internally wrong with you.
30:46Like, your fumes is intoxicating for me.
30:48Like, not in a weird way, you know?
30:49Anyway, I don't want to talk about this no more.
30:52This is disgusting.
30:53Are you serious right now?
30:54Like...
30:55You need help.
30:56You need help.
30:58I would expect him to react that way.
31:06You could die from drinking too much coffee?
31:07Yeah.
31:08She's gonna end up in the hospital.
31:10Her organs are gonna shut down.
31:11And it's not gonna be good.
31:13This is nuts.
31:14If your cholesterol is high, blood pressure is high,
31:15you're setting yourself up for a heart attack or stroke.
31:17You can talk to on your own.
31:18This is gross.
31:19This is gross.
31:20This is gross.
31:21To get out of the heat.
31:23You've got to sleep.
31:24If your finger mumble, the kraut, the kraut.
31:27I'm sure you do not know.
31:29You're sans milk.
31:30This is gross.
31:31You're not in trouble.
31:32But I'm sure you've got to sleep.
31:33With that, I'm sure you have to go to sleep.
31:34I'm sure you know.
31:35If I could sleep.
31:36You're just...
31:37You're using gross.
31:38I'm sure you need to sleep.
31:39How many years ago she said?
31:41When she was 15, 14?
31:43She's smelling my dirty underwear, the crotch.
31:49I don't want to have anything to do with that at all.
31:53Hello?
31:54Hello, hold on first.
31:55Hello?
31:56She even knew about all of this, right?
31:59You asked her not to tell me?
32:00Yeah, I asked her not to tell you.
32:03I'm out here talking.
32:04I didn't want to tell you because I knew.
32:05Like, I just had a feeling your reaction would just be like,
32:08what the ?
32:10I wish you would have told me, but.
32:12I know, I should have told you.
32:14Yeah.
32:17I told her, it was disgusting, yes.
32:20She needs to get help, honestly.
32:27I'm gonna get the help that I need, you know.
32:29I just, I just thought, like, it would be better,
32:34like, to, like, tell him no, but I didn't know,
32:37like, you know, he was gonna be embarrassed about it.
32:40So.
32:43I'm just happy.
32:44Like, I told him and I got it off my chest
32:46because, like, I couldn't hold it in any longer.
32:49So, like, that part is over with.
32:51Now, like, repairing my relationship with my dad
32:55and seeking therapy is the next step for me
32:58because I just want, like, some type of normal back in my life,
33:05like, after all these years.
33:06It's gonna be a sip before I go in there.
33:24Fine.
33:25Shut up.
33:26I know.
33:26Thirsty as hell.
33:27Oof.
33:28I'm so thirsty.
33:29I'm just gonna take one sip.
33:36Wait, let me put it in my cup.
33:37No.
33:45Hi.
33:46Hi, checking in?
33:46Yes, for Dr. Shaw.
33:47Oh, OK.
33:48Did anything change with the insurance?
33:49Everything's the same.
33:50Beautiful.
33:51Do you guys have any, um, coffee?
33:53We do not.
33:54We have water.
33:55Would you like water?
33:56No, I'm OK.
33:57Just checking.
33:58We'll be with you shortly.
34:00I feel like drinking coffee.
34:01It's not affecting my health.
34:02I wake up every day.
34:03I'm functioning.
34:04I get things done.
34:06All right, you guys can come right in here.
34:08But the other day, everybody was getting on my case.
34:10I agreed to go to the doctor.
34:12I'm going to prove to them that I'm fine.
34:14I'm, like, shocked you're here because that's why I came.
34:16I didn't think you were actually going to go.
34:18It takes forever in a doctor office.
34:20I wish they would hurry up.
34:22If the doctor asks me, I'll tell her how much I'm drinking.
34:25But it's really, like, to me, it's silly just
34:27to put a number, like, 50 on it.
34:28If she asks me am I drinking coffee, yeah.
34:30If she asks me when, I'm going to pretty much say all day.
34:34Hello.
34:35Hi.
34:35How you doing?
34:36I'm Dr. Shah.
34:36Nice to meet you.
34:37Nice to meet you.
34:37I'm Angela.
34:38Angela, right?
34:39So, Angela, what brings you in today?
34:41Well, my kids just wanted me to just, like, get a physical,
34:44I guess.
34:45OK.
34:45Things have been good.
34:46Yep.
34:47Normal diet, exercise, all that stuff.
34:49Yep.
34:50Yeah.
34:52But they think I drink too much coffee.
34:56OK.
34:57How much coffee are you drinking, if you had to quantify it?
34:59More than 10.
35:00More than 10 cups?
35:01Yeah, way more than 10.
35:02Way more than 10, yeah.
35:03OK.
35:04I think I've had almost 100 cups of coffee a day.
35:06So you're just, like, drinking the coffee all day long?
35:08All day long.
35:09That's super excessive.
35:11The science says that four cups is probably the max in a day for a person of normal size.
35:19Anything above that, you can put yourself into, basically, caffeine toxicity.
35:23Caffeine toxicity?
35:24What's that?
35:25So, basically, it can increase your heart rate, increase your blood pressure, it can mess with
35:31your digestive system, your belly's been OK, no diarrhea, constipation, anything like that.
35:36I have diarrhea every day, but I thought that's just a part of pooping.
35:39So that's not normal to have diarrhea every day?
35:42That's not a normal way to defecate or whatnot?
35:44Yeah, no.
35:45Oh, wow.
35:46Yeah.
35:47Technically, caffeine is a drug.
35:48In small doses, it's OK, but over time, and the amount that she's drinking, definitely
35:55she's addicted to it.
35:56I think you just have to kind of push in the morning to see how far you can get without
36:01drinking a cup of coffee.
36:02It's reversible.
36:03I think so, yeah.
36:05But still, over time, if you keep this up, then it's not going to help.
36:09You could die from drinking too much coffee?
36:10Yeah.
36:12So if Angela doesn't stop drinking the amount of coffee that she's drinking, she's headed
36:17to a really bad place.
36:18She's going to end up in the hospital, her organs are going to shut down, and it's not
36:22going to be good.
36:23Let me take a listen to you.
36:24Would you mind taking this off for me?
36:25Mm-hmm.
36:26Good.
36:27Good.
36:28Good.
36:29Okay, so your blood pressure is actually a little bit high.
36:41Getting 160 over 90, which is pretty high.
36:43So it sounds like the coffee is already causing issues with your blood pressure then.
36:48Because that's a high blood pressure, 160 over 90.
36:51We usually would like people to be 120 over 80-ish.
36:54This is nuts.
36:55Try to decrease the amount of coffee and let's see what happens.
36:59Cholesterol is high, blood pressure is high.
37:01You're setting yourself up for a heart attack or stroke.
37:06So we definitely have to be more careful.
37:08Like I said, you don't have to be terrified to drink coffee, but not in excess.
37:13Two or three cups a day.
37:14Very good to meet you.
37:15Good to meet you too.
37:21Livia was right at the doctor's office and all, but it really doesn't mean like I'm going
37:24to stop drinking coffee, and even the doctor said that.
37:26I just needed to slow down.
37:28Right now, today, I am not willing to completely cut off coffee from my life, but I'm willing
37:33to stop drinking so much at night, and I think that will help the sleep and the appetite,
37:37and then everything's going to fall back in place.
37:41I told you so.
37:42Even though I hate the thought of talking to a person about my problems, I'm at least
37:57trying to get better, you know?
37:59My dad's underwear, the fumes, it just was intoxicating.
38:12Hi.
38:13Hello.
38:14Hi.
38:15Nice to meet you.
38:16I'm David.
38:17I'm Anissa.
38:18Anissa, come on in.
38:20You get the big comfortable chair.
38:22Oh, yeah.
38:24I think that seeking therapy will help my relationship with my dad.
38:28Even though, like, I hate the thought of talking to a person about my problems.
38:32I'm just going to put the effort in and try, because I do love my dad, and I just want to
38:37let him know that I'm at least trying, like, to get better, you know?
38:41Yeah.
38:42So, tell me a little more about yourself.
38:47Well, I've been through, like, trauma with my mom leaving at a young age.
38:53She left?
38:54Okay.
38:55Yeah.
38:56How old were you about?
38:57I was nine.
38:58Nine?
38:59Okay.
39:00I didn't know how to, like, you know, release.
39:03Right.
39:04You're nine.
39:05Right.
39:06So, a couple years later, I was 14, and, you know, I was doing the laundry.
39:12Okay.
39:13And one day, I just happened to, like, come across, like, my dad's underwear.
39:18The fumes, like, it just was intoxicating, and I just believed that it calmed me down.
39:25Fast forward, I just, like, kept up what I was doing, and I just, like, in my brain,
39:30it was like, you can't stop.
39:32And this described to me she had an addiction of smelling her dad's underwear, and I've never
39:36encountered that one before, but I've encountered so many others very similar to that.
39:41None of this is anything that you control.
39:45The subconscious is in charge of your life, and that's the one thing I want you to realize.
39:49None of this is your fault.
39:51Okay.
39:52This is something your subconscious held onto and did it for a good reason.
39:57Something like, Mom isn't here to reassure me when she's not here, I'm going to make sure
40:02Dad stays with me in the form of whatever, right?
40:04Right.
40:05That can be an obvious answer.
40:06Yeah.
40:07What we want to do is begin to let go of that old programming and create new healthy programming
40:12for that part of your subconscious that you want to achieve.
40:15Okay.
40:16Hypnotherapy is talking to a person's subconscious mind.
40:20I work with people that really need to change the old addictions, the old behaviors, and
40:26subconsciously we can begin to affect that change with hypnosis.
40:32Okay, once you move something, take your glasses off.
40:35Turn these on and we'll adjust the volume and the voice.
40:39Okay.
40:40It's beginning to relax.
40:45You just naturally continue to release all those negative behaviors of the past.
40:52By accepting these powerful positive suggestions, you create new healthy habits of success.
40:58I do think it's possible for her to kick the addiction.
41:03Imagine the relief knowing there's nothing wrong with you and these issues were not really
41:08yours, they were your subconscious programming.
41:10And that's what I wanted her to come away with was that sense that now she can take charge
41:16and do something about it instead of being a victim to it.
41:19Easily and naturally opening your eyes, wide awake, feeling great, wide awake.
41:25Okay.
41:34Here.
41:36Whenever you're ready, you can take off the headphones.
41:39Are you able to relax?
41:41Yeah.
41:42I was asleep.
41:43I think like that part of my mind was like sleep, but I can hear you.
41:48Yes.
41:49That's exactly right.
41:50I kind of got startled too.
41:51Like I forgot that I was here, you know?
41:54Yep.
41:55That's perfect.
