00:00If you're just joining us, no LeBron James, no Austin Reeves, no Luka Doncic, no DeAndre Ayton, no Marcus Smart.
00:06But we've got guys like Rui Hachimura.
00:09Rob?
00:09Yes, we've got Rui, who's been shooting the ball extremely well.
00:12You've got Luke Kennard, who's been playing, you know, starting back up.
00:16So it's going to be fun.
00:17It's going to be a fun watch.
00:18So just don't tune out because the starters in there.
00:20You might see something extraordinary.
00:22You've got Jake Laravia in the starting lineup.
00:25You've got Jackson Hayes, that guy right there.
00:27Kobe Bucking.
00:28You've got Nick Smith, Jr.
00:30Yeah.
00:31Plenty of opportunities.
00:32I think, you know, people need to tune in because we haven't really seen much of Kobe.
00:36I'm really excited to see what he can do in the starting lineup and having some minutes
00:39because there's been such great talk about him.
00:42And also, you know, my guy, Les Rave, is going to be out there.
00:46He's capable of doing big things, but this is the guy I'm more excited about seeing.
00:50I think sometimes we forget that he won us a game, Ale.
00:54You forget about that in Portland.
00:56Nick Smith, Jr.?
00:57I know.
00:58He won us a game.
00:58Are you giving away your take your shot?
01:01No, I didn't say that.
01:02Don't be telling the people who I'm going to get.
01:04I'm taking my shot.
01:05But I just think, you know, don't underestimate the people that are going to be on that floor
01:10because they're professional athletes.
01:12They're pro basketball players for a reason.
01:14So the game plan is going to be very different.
01:16We kind of talked about it at the top of the show.
01:18But biggest keys for the Lakers?
01:20You know, it's almost like they should do a Nolan Richardson mindset.
01:26You know Nolan Richardson?
01:27He was a coach of Arkansas.
01:29They had 40 minutes of H-E-L-L.
01:30That's what they used to call it.
01:31They need to just go out and just play fast, play furious because they've got nothing to lose.
01:34And I think for them, if they play good defense and not worry about whatever outcome, because
01:38they're not predicted to win, they don't think they're going to, you know, the other team
01:42doesn't think they're going to win.
01:43So just, you know, go out there and smack them in the face.
01:45Next thing you know, you walk out there saying, yeah, we beat the Spurs, who had a second
01:49best record in the West.
01:50Question for you.
01:51It's my job.
01:5352 games into the season, Lakers 32 and 20.
01:55Do you think they still have something to prove?
01:57Four teams better than them in the West.
01:59You know, you, as an NBA player, if you're not number one, like Ricky Bobby said, you ain't
02:04first, you're last, you always got something to prove.
02:06And that's the thing, if you have to have that mentality, no matter who you are, who you
02:10playing, you've got to have that mentality.
02:13Are you laughing because I said Ricky Bobby over here?
02:16I'm laughing because Brett laughed at me for saying I got a question for you because
02:19that's my job.
02:20Just keeping it real.
02:21I don't even know who that is, by the way.
02:22You don't know who Ricky Bobby is?
02:23No.
02:24Talladega.
02:25Talladega Knights.
02:25There you go.
02:26One of the best movies I've ever seen.
02:28But yeah, it's, you know, so many teams out here are good.
02:31You think about, they just played the Thunder, you know, SGA, and that would have been a
02:34great opportunity to get that win.
02:36They didn't get it.
02:37Now you're going up against, you know, San Antonio's first, second best record in the
02:41West, and you don't have your starting lineup.
02:43Hey, go out and shock the world.
02:45That's what I say.
02:46That's the fun part about it all.
02:47Hey, I love when the starters didn't play.
02:49I mean, I got more shots.
02:51And so I just had, I feel like I was back in high school when I was the man.
02:54You would.
02:54You would never like it easy.
02:55And it is that time, that point of the show.
02:58Take your shot.
02:59It's brought to you by Mercury Insurance.
03:01Rob, you're going to speak for 75 seconds.
03:03I got it.
03:04And you're going to let the world know why Nick Smith Jr. is your take your shot pick.
03:10I like this kid a lot.
03:12You think about when he was in Charlotte, what he was able to do when he got the opportunity.
03:17Sometimes you just need someone to let you in the house to eat.
03:19Hey, JJ, let this guy in the house and eat.
03:22When you did up in Portland that time, he saved your butt by coming out because he has a type
03:27of game that's kind of herky-jerky alley, and so it's hard to guard.
03:30He's going to hit you with a little, you know, penetration.
03:32He's going to hit the little 10, 12-footer.
03:34He can hit the three.
03:35But, you know, I do have a 1B, though.
03:37Can I do my 1B?
03:38Yeah.
03:39My 1B is Rui.
03:41Rui.
03:42All right.
03:42After you in Gonzaga, big guy, look around.
03:45You be like, hey, Rui, go out there and do something.
03:47You know, this is your team now.
03:49All the starters are on the bench.
03:50So go out and do your thing.
03:52I think the biggest thing for Rui, too, is that you don't just need him offensively,
03:55but you're also going to need him defensively tonight.
03:57And here's my pick.
03:59Who do you call him?
04:00Let's rave.
04:01Let's rave?
04:01Yeah, let's rave.
04:02You're so mad that I had to choose someone besides Luka or LeBron.
04:07I was happy.
04:08And I chose my favorite option there in Jake LaRavia.
04:12Obviously, aggressiveness is the mindset when it comes to Jake.
04:16You know, he can get buckets, which is what the Lakers are going to need tonight.
04:19All right, Lakers and Spurs coming up.
04:20Time to head back downtown.
04:21Bill McDonald, Stu Lance have the call.
04:23Billy Mack, take it away, my friend.
04:25What did he say?
04:25You let go.
04:27We are live from Crippero.com.
04:28We're in a great look at it right now in Los Angeles.
04:31Spectrum Sportsnet, as always, is proud to present the NBA.
04:35This evening, the Lakers are taking on for the final time this year, the San Antonio Spurs.
04:42Hello again, everybody, and welcome.
04:44Well, have you ever had tickets to a Broadway play?
04:46And when you get there, it's all the understudies performing.
04:50None of the stars are going to beat it.
04:52That's what we've got tonight for the Lakers.
04:54It's going to be crazy.
04:55Lots and plenty of opportunity for some others, but the entire starting lineup not playing tonight.
05:01Great analogy because you're absolutely right.
05:03No starter for the Lakers in the regular lineup will be in uniform tonight.
05:09There's 100 points right there that the Lakers are going to have in street clothes.
05:13Boy, what a lineup it is, but it's not a lineup tonight.
05:17So what's going to have to happen?
05:19Hey, that's why they have more than five players on the team.
05:22Next man up mentality, that's in effect in a big way tonight.
05:26Just go out.
05:27Have some fun.
05:28Nobody expects you to do much, do they?
05:30That's when you can loosen up.
05:31Just go out and play.
05:33Everything becomes easier for you.
05:35Next man up, who's it going to be?
05:37It has to be all of the above because no one man is going to be able to handle this Spurs team.
05:43Stu, on the other side, the exact opposite.
05:46Everybody healthy.
05:47Everybody's suiting up.
05:48Everybody's playing, including Wimbenyama.
05:52Wimbenyama.
05:52Well, he's the reason why we're here.
05:54I mean, just the reason why this is a special ticket tonight is Victor Wimbenyama.
05:58This is a young man that, I mean, he does things that nobody his size has ever been able to do before.
06:04I mean, he is just a remarkable talent.
06:06Average in 24 points on the year, and that doesn't even begin to describe his impact.
06:11What he does on the defensive side is maybe more impressive.
06:15Then they've got another youngster named Stephon Kasser.
06:18Oh, I mean, coming off of a 40-point triple-double.
06:21What?
06:2140-12-and-12 came in as a defender.
06:24He's showing everybody he's got more to his game than just defense.
06:29Let's have some fun tonight.
06:32See if the Lakers can pull off a huge upset with the Spurs in town.
06:37And we've got the tip and the starting lineups when we come back after this.
06:41All five starters are out.
06:53We've talked about the game plan.
06:55Rob, you said that these are the nights you used to love, but how do you stay within the game plan and not trying to do too much?
07:02Well, the thing about this, you stay within the game plan, you just move the ball more.
07:07And when you move the ball more, because you think about it, it sticks with Luka, it sticks with AR, it sticks with LeBron.
07:12But now these guys are depending on each other because there's no really creator out there who's going to penetrate and kick.
07:18It's like, you've got to penetrate, kick, move the ball.
07:21It's not the shot, not the first pass.
07:23It's the second pass that's going to create the shot.
07:25So for me, it's going to be all about team basketball tonight.
07:28And that's how you're able to get maybe a career high.
07:30So we're going to end up with a career high tonight, watch.
07:32How about the discipline that's going to be required defensively?
07:35You know, it's going to be a team effort, especially when you've got someone like Wimby.
07:37You're going to have to, like, pack it in and say, you know what, we've got to live and die with something.
07:42And I think you look at how this team plays, meaning the Spurs, they live and die with the three a lot.
07:47I know you can say Castle, they scored 40 points without only making three threes.
07:51But still, though, Wimby, he takes a lot of threes.
07:55Fox takes a lot of threes.
07:56So they just got to bear down.
07:57Ooh, unlike the Wildcats did last night.
08:01We'll be back here at halftime.
08:03Sorry, producer Polanski.
08:05Sorry the game, everyone.
08:07Yeah, that's a thank you.
08:08I said it.
08:10Lakers basketball is being brought to you by Jack in the Box.
08:14Jack's bringing back his classic chicken supreme.
08:17Now in a meal starting at 549.
08:20Well, some rain's coming.
08:24Not only the next day or so, but next week, but comfortable inside, of course, here.
08:29Hopefully we're going to have a sellout tonight.
08:31San Antonio and the Lakers for the final time this year.
08:34San Antonio trying to win the season series with a victory.
08:38This is the starting lineup.
08:40Yeah, you got Jake and Rui.
08:42Jack's back and in the middle.
08:44Luke Kennard gets a starting opportunity tonight.
08:46And Kobe Bufkin, who just signed, will be in the starting five.
08:51For the Spurs, get used to it.
08:52This is their regular five.
08:54Champagny and Vassell has been around for a while, obviously.
08:58And De'Aaron Fox, who's had some huge games during his career against the Lakers.
09:03Lexus, keys to the game.
09:04And Stu.
09:05No secret about keys to the game tonight.
09:06It includes everybody.
09:09I mean, everybody has to rebound.
09:11Everybody has to help out defensively.
09:13You got to limit the turnovers.
09:15And then, more importantly, just play loose.
09:18I mean, they're not expected to win against this lineup.
09:20Right.
09:21Just go out, have fun, and just relax.
09:23And you never know what might happen.
09:25I'll tell you what.
09:26Even Stratham would be tough to beat the Spurs.
09:28They're really good this year.
09:30There is Michael.
09:31Let's talk about Kobe Bufkin a little bit.
09:32How about that?
09:33Well, look.
09:33Kobe Bufkin was tearing up the G League for the South Bay Lakers this year, Billy.
09:38And that certainly contributed to the Lakers bringing him up for the rest of the season.
09:4215th pick going back in 2023 with Atlanta.
09:45This is his first career start.
09:46And certainly here for the Purple and Gold.
09:49Now, talk about the South Bay Lakers.
09:50All right.
09:51How about this?
09:5128 points.
09:5252% from the field.
09:5443% from three.
09:56And then he defends as well.
09:57Right.
09:58Over one block and one steal per game.
10:01And so, that's the thing.
10:02Once you get all of the ball handlers back, right, eventually, and maybe even next game,
10:07you'll see Austin Reeves and soon enough, Luka Doncic, LeBron James, Marcus Smart, right?
10:12The guys that make the plays.
10:13Well, Bufkin won't have the ball as much in those situations.
10:16But can his defense translate?
10:18Can he get better to be that point of attack guy that the Lakers are also looking for to
10:22have a little bit of help there?
10:24That's all coming potentially in the future.
10:26But tonight, he's got to do the offense part, too.
10:29And it's not an easy one to get to San Antonio's first team.
10:32But, hey, what better spotlight?
10:34What better chance to show what you can do than right here for Kobe Bufkin tonight?
10:37Well, it's going to be fun for him.
10:39And, of course, the next opportunity, Cooper Flagg and Dallas will be here on Thursday.
10:44And that will be the final game before the All-Star break.
10:48And San Antonio, they begin their rodeo trip tonight.
10:53In fact, they will not be back in San Antonio until the first week in March.
10:58They will play a couple of home games in Austin, though, right after the break.
11:02But first things first, here's the first possession.
11:05It belongs to De'Aaron Fox, former Clutch Player of the Year in the NBA.
11:09Drive, kick, Champagny hits.
11:11And that's what he does so well, knocking down threes.
11:14Yeah, I mean, in first possession, they get a spot-up three.
11:17I mean, if you're on the weak side defending, you're not a shot blocker.
11:21You're not in the help scenario, so you've got to be more attached to your man.
11:25That's Julian's 39th start out of 53 games this year.
11:28Here's Luke Kennard.
11:30Of course, first week in a Laker uniform.
11:32Arabia down the middle he goes.
11:33He's got Wembe Nyama right there and it forced him to try to make a move.
11:37He didn't want to, and it's knocked out of bounds.
11:40All right, J.J. Redick and the Lakers.
11:41He's exactly the same record as last season, 32 and 50.
11:48So this same pace going in.
11:50They're just doing it a little bit differently, obviously.
11:53It's going to be interesting to see.
11:55I don't know how we're going to count it, but how many times Wembe Nyama makes a Laker change their mind?
12:01You know, they'll drive.
12:02You know, a lot of times you like to drive and really attack that rim.
12:06See how many times they drive and kick.
12:08Did I say 32 and 50?
12:09They have 52 games played.
12:11Oh, and he'd throw it down, Jackson Hayes.
12:14Of course, they're 32 and 20 and fifth in the West.
12:17Here come the Spurs, 36 and 16 on the season.
12:21Much different, much better than last year.
12:23Here's Victor underneath, and he gets fouled from behind.
12:28Yeah, that was a nice little play there as they got into the seam and found Victor running the baseline.
12:33Two free throws as the Lakers get their first two points on the lob to high-flying Jackson Hayes as he does what he does quite a bit, and that's get the dunk.
12:45Now, Wembe's played in two of the three games against the Lakers this year, and he's been held under 20 in both of the two that he has played in.
12:54And here's Mitch Johnson.
12:56They are a season-high 20 games over 500.
13:01He's getting plenty of contributions.
13:03Four different high scores in their last five games.
13:07You said held under 20?
13:09Yeah.
13:10He scored under 20.
13:11Yeah, well, there you go.
13:12I don't know who's holding you under 20.
13:17Might be a different story tonight.
13:19We'll see.
13:22Bucking on the outside.
13:24He's one of three southpaws now on this Lakers team.
13:28Wembe to the dribble, and he ain't get there.
13:30One, two, three big steps, and he scores.
13:34Well, he rebounded the ball defensively.
13:37Took it the length of the floor for a layup.
13:40Somebody get in his way.
13:41Stomp the basketball.
13:43Steve's first rule is really missing.
13:46Weekside rebound taken by the Spurs.
13:48Castle, as you mentioned, coming off of that remarkable triple-double anchored by 40 points.
13:55Rookie of the year, Stephon Castle.
13:58Wembe Yama, the spin and the slam.
14:02Can he make up some distance with his one or two steps?
14:078-2 out of the gate.
14:09Tall order for the Lakers, and that's probably a pun intended with Webby.
14:14Oh, nice play by Bucking.
14:16Yeah, the offhand scoring in the layup.
14:19Yeah, did a great job keeping the defender on his hip and then using that offhand.
14:23Wembe for three.
14:24He's starting to shoot more threes.
14:27I think it was a factor that he really wanted to score more in the paint at the beginning of the year,
14:33and he was doing just that, but he's firing away from three-point land a little bit more regularly now.
14:40Bumpkin with control, LaRavia trying to lose his man Champagny.
14:45Jakes, if he gets on a roll of shooting, even in the hot and cold for sure this year.
14:50Rebound to Wembe Yama.
14:53Got to stop the basketball.
14:54He's going to do it again.
14:56Over to Castle.
14:57Castle.
14:58Other side finds for a quick passing underneath.
15:01And we're going to get a whistle.
15:03Well, to start the game, we've only played a couple minutes,
15:06and Wembe's already put up a couple of nice-looking plays.
15:10Drop steps.
15:11Doesn't take much to dunk when you're that tall,
15:15but his ability to stretch the floor and play defense,
15:18I mean, he can do every facet of the game.
15:21He's going to fire up another three.
15:22Frozen rope is nothing but net.
15:26Yeah, you bet he's shooting more threes.
15:28How about that?
15:29He is four for four and two for two from three.
15:32He's got 11 points already.
15:35Kennard trying to become the top three-point shooter yet again.
15:39He's already done that twice.
15:41In his career.
15:43Wembe, how hot is he?
15:44He's going to try to get to the rim,
15:45and he runs into Jackson Hayes, and a foul is called.
15:4914-4.
15:53We're going to have our first substitute already for the Lakers
15:56as Drew Timmy is about to check in.
15:59You know, Jax just picked up his second personal foul.
16:04You mentioned it, Stu.
16:05The leading scorer in Gonzaga history,
16:08and Drew Timmy will be coming in.
16:10Victor on the line this year.
16:12Free throw shooting, 81%.
16:14How about this right now from Cerritos Auto Square?
16:18The Cerritos Auto Square sold so many cars because they have low prices,
16:21and they have low prices because they sell so many.
16:24Excuse me.
16:25They put, uh, well, Timmy was coming back, and all of a sudden now it's Maxie.
16:29You come back here, so it's Kleeba.
16:31That was a nice fake.
16:32Yeah, so Kleeba is coming in.
16:34He's had some nice games recently.
16:36Getting an opportunity.
16:39Of course, played all those years with Luka.
16:42Again, if you're just tuning in, all the stars.
16:45Well, I'm not going to disrespect anybody out on the floor for the Lakers,
16:49but the main stars.
16:50How about that?
16:51For the Lakers, not in uniform tonight.
16:53Led by Reeves, LeBron, and Luka.
16:57Rui going to shoot a three.
16:59That's going to clank off the back iron and the window.
17:01Picked up by the Spurs.
17:03Wembenyama again.
17:04Boy, he's playing point guard.
17:05He's playing everything so far.
17:06That would have counted had it have gone,
17:08and he's going to go right back to the free throw line,
17:11or he's three for four already.
17:13Well, you can't let him get to the free throw line
17:16before you decide to make him change direction.
17:18Make him change a little bit outside the three-point line.
17:22Then, you know, maybe kick it and set up your half-court defense.
17:25All right, Wembeny on the line.
17:27We're going to throw it down to Mike.
17:28I know it's a long laundry list,
17:30but give me some updates on the guys that aren't playing tonight.
17:34Yeah, let's see how we do here, Billy.
17:36Like, the bottom line, right,
17:37if you think about the next game on Thursday,
17:40the Lakers would hope to get everybody back,
17:43with the exception of we'll see about Luka, right?
17:45He's still day-to-day.
17:46He, of course, hasn't played for a couple games
17:48with that mild hamstring strain.
17:50J.J. Redick did offer, though, that that day-to-day listing is literal,
17:53so we'll see how he feels tomorrow.
17:55As for Austin Reeves, this was always the plan.
17:57He wasn't going to play both nights of the back-to-back.
18:00We're turning from that calf injury.
18:02LeBron, we know that there are some back-to-backs at his age
18:04and all of the wear and tear that he's going to be out.
18:07And then Marcus Smart just tweaked a left ankle,
18:10or I shouldn't say left ankle, tweaked an ankle last night.
18:12But that's also considered kind of a minor thing.
18:15So hopefully we'll get everybody back.
18:17Oh, wait, there was one more, Billy.
18:18DeAndre Aiton.
18:19He had the knee.
18:21He missed a game, the previous game to this one,
18:24but he would have a chance to play on Thursday as well.
18:26My friend, you did well.
18:27Okay, I'm going to go get some water.
18:27You did very well.
18:30Take the rest of the half off.
18:31Get a defensive three-second violation for the Spurs,
18:36and Luke Kennard knocks down the technical.
18:38The Lakers down by 12 after just under four minutes.
18:44First game this year between the two.
18:46San Antonio won by just a bucket.
18:48Then back in December, Lakers won at 132-119.
18:52Back on January the 7th was probably the best defensive game
18:56for San Antonio all year.
18:58And they held the Lakers to 91 when you look at the defensive efficiency numbers on that one.
19:04There's a play, a turnover that Victor caused.
19:07Reached out with that long arm and knocked the ball free.
19:10Lakers had 15 turnovers last night.
19:13Again, they were in the game nearly the entire way as Bumpkin hits for three.
19:19They may, Bumpkin might have to go for 30 or so tonight to keep the Lakers anywhere near.
19:24Wemby looking for more.
19:26He's got 17 straight points.
19:3017 of the 20.
19:34Victor Wemby-Yama.
19:35L'Orabia with the answer back.
19:38A little string music from three-point land.
19:41I said it earlier, I'd be very surprised if Victor played more than 20 minutes.
19:46Fox puts a great move on underneath, and he will go to the free-throw line right now.
19:50So the Lakers are going to be, what, out of fouls now?
19:53Is that number five?
19:54Or they might be number four.
19:56Boy, they were quick to put that up on the board.
19:58Nice to see Jake L'Orabia knock down a long ball.
20:01He had been struggling for quite some time from behind the arc.
20:05So anytime you can get one to fall, it helps your confidence quite a bit.
20:08Well, for De'Aaron, his scoring has continued to go down every single month.
20:13So he's looking for a little breakout game here in early February.
20:17How about this right now from Carl's Jr.?
20:20For a limited time, by one Carl's Jr. famous star single, get a second for this one bump.
20:28Quick start for this Spurs team, led by Victor Wimbanyama, who is, he thinks he's Luka.
20:34What, these big first-quarter outputs here?
20:37Yeah, Luka, of course, makes his mark, sets the tone about every night,
20:41no matter who it's against for the Lakers.
20:44So Luka still the leading scorer in the NBA.
20:47Kennard has got Wemby right in front of him.
20:49Now he waits and has a little bit of room.
20:52So Wemby kind of fell back, and he went around Castle and scored.
20:55I think Castle just relaxed and allows a step-through kind of shot there for Luke.
21:01And Spurs alone in second place in the West, four-back of OKC,
21:06and trying to dunk that one that time.
21:09And he's just going to go march right back to the line.
21:12I'll tell you, once he gets anywhere close to the paint area there,
21:15it can be a dunk.
21:17I mean, he's so long, and then when he leaves his feet,
21:20he's like plastic man.
21:21And the Lakers down by nine.
21:28Timeout.
21:29Luka received the player of the month.
21:33Western Conference, January.
21:35And, of course, Luka, what a month he has had.
21:39And the Taco Bell take, it leads us right to it.
21:44And with or without Luka, or with and without Luka.
21:48How about those numbers, Stu?
21:50Yeah, well, you can see the value that he possesses.
21:53I mean, when he's with them, they have a pretty good record.
21:57When he's not, you know, they're just a mediocre five and five.
22:00So, got to get him back in the lineup as fast as possible.
22:06Again, we don't know about him for the next night,
22:08and whether or not he will play in the All-Star game for the World All-Stars.
22:15That World All-Star team is, oh, my goodness.
22:20They're all healthy and playing.
22:21Oh, my goodness.
22:23That is quite an array of talent.
22:26So, Wembenyama looking for more.
22:29That makes it 18 in the first quarter.
22:30You know, the highest score first quarter this year,
22:35individually in the NBA.
22:37No, it's not Luka.
22:37It's James Harden, who dropped 27 in a first quarter earlier this year.
22:43How about Cleveland Cavalier now, James Harden?
22:46If Victor plays the whole first quarter, he could have it easily.
22:52He's just scoring it.
22:53You are right.
22:54He could go 30 if he plays and gets the opportunities.
22:59Because we're not even halfway through the first quarter.
23:0124-13.
23:03Glad you're with us here on Spectrum Sportsnet on NBA TV tonight also.
23:08Here is Kennard.
23:10Right back out for LaRavia.
23:12It's a pick.
23:13He's going to try to get to the rim.
23:14Again, patrolling under there is Wembenyama.
23:17He's not going to get it over Victor, but a foul on Steph Castle.
23:21I mean, again, I talked about how many times Victor makes players change their mind.
23:25And, you know, a lot of times when you're struggling from the outside, you just want to get the ball and drive into the paint.
23:31But I don't know if you want to try that too many times with him there.
23:34Well, tied for first in total blocks with 103 with Jay Huff.
23:38And he's done it in 15 less games.
23:43It's pretty remarkable.
23:44At tonight's game, Easter Seals Disability Services and the Lakers are teaming up to celebrate the disability community.
23:51Say disability with pride.
23:55Their best bet now is to try to.
24:00But the Spurs surround Victor with so many good offensive players that if you send that second, possibly third player to him, you just ask him for it.
24:10And he's got another lob in a layup.
24:13And there's a career high any quarter for Wembeny.
24:17And Stephon gets the assist.
24:19Long shot, long rebound.
24:20Here they come.
24:21The right-hand side.
24:23It's Castle coming off that big-time triple-double.
24:25Out for Champagny.
24:27Champagny drive, kick.
24:29Victor for three.
24:30Wemben on the way.
24:31Oh, that rolls around.
24:32It spills out.
24:33I think he even has the Laker crowd.
24:35I was going to say that he makes every shot.
24:37There was a definite gasp from the Laker crowd when that one went out.
24:42Arabia deep and down.
24:44Fresh snow for Jake.
24:46And that's two for Jake from long distance.
24:48Here's Victor down the middle.
24:53He goes.
24:54No resistance.
24:55Zero resistance.
24:5723 first quarter points.
25:00And that noise you hear is everybody communicating throughout the NBA community right now.
25:05Are you seeing this?
25:07And there's over five minutes still to play in the quarter.
25:10Here he goes.
25:11The middle man with the dribble after a Laker turnover.
25:15Champagny.
25:16He's going to try to get into the paint.
25:19He does.
25:19He throws it up and misses.
25:20But we've got a foul.
25:22Called by Scott Foster.
25:24A couple of subs coming back and coming in for the Lakers as I see Vandy over there.
25:30And is that Nick Smith Jr.?
25:33Going to get an opportunity.
25:34Boy, he has played very sparingly.
25:37He had a nice little run a month and a half or so ago.
25:42That's a pretty good scoring games.
25:45San Antonio shooting 72 and a half percent.
25:48And they've made nine out of 11 free throws.
25:52So they've shot many more free throws than the Lakers.
25:55In fact, the other night, OKC does what they do very well.
25:59They got to the line and shot more free throws than the Lakers did.
26:04And that was last night.
26:07119-110.
26:08A game that was close right up until the end when Jalen Williams said,
26:12No, it's our game.
26:1410 in the decisive fourth quarter for Williams.
26:18Vando on the outside finds Rui amongst the leaders in three-point shooting in the NBA.
26:24And he settles for a two right there.
26:26Not a bad two-point shooter either.
26:28Just doesn't take a whole bunch of shots.
26:31As we say, she'll probably shoot more off.
26:33And Castle goes right to the rim and scores.
26:37Boy, the Lakers have no defense right now.
26:39I mean, absolutely none of them.
26:42San Antonio is 9 for 12.
26:45And they got an 11-point lead.
26:47Led by as many as 13.
26:49Lakers have not led so far.
26:52Rui mid-range.
26:53In and out.
26:53No.
26:55And it's off the leg of Keldon Johnson.
26:58Longest tenured spur.
27:00In for Wembeyan.
27:02The turn.
27:03The shot.
27:04The soft touch.
27:05And two more.
27:0625 in the first quarter.
27:08He's two away from Harden.
27:10He's the next dead ball away from getting to the sideline, though.
27:13So, you've got to hurry and get.
27:16There's the whistle.
27:17I think 25's enough.
27:20You know what?
27:20He's on pace to catch Will.
27:22I'll tell you, if he played 45 minutes, he's catching two tonight.
27:30He has just been unstoppable.
27:33Doing anything he wants, any time that he wants.
27:38Remember when I said he hadn't scored 20 against the Lakers this year?
27:40Yeah, and I said, nobody held him.
27:43He was under 20 against the race.
27:47He's special.
27:50Drew Timmy now does come in for the Lake Show.
27:54Barnes, boy, they have so much good depth.
27:56Their roster construction has really been something to behold over the last year.
28:02And they kind of saw this coming.
28:04That they would be a contender this season.
28:06Here's Nick Smith Jr. leading in and scoring.
28:09Good play by Nick.
28:10Nice job.
28:11You see that?
28:12As soon as Victor goes out of the game, they venture into the paint a little bit more freely.
28:16Why not?
28:16And Nick Smith Jr. gets his first scratch of the game.
28:203.36 to go here in the first.
28:22It's been all Spurs.
28:23They lead by 11.
28:30World-famous Laker girls during the timeout.
28:33Lakers are down double digits.
28:35This Amazon prime player is world-class Victor Wimbanyama.
28:40I mean, it's been, you talked about a guy scoring points.
28:44He does it so easily.
28:45And you look at what he's done on the year.
28:47You talked about the block leaders.
28:49He averages just under three a game.
28:52And I can't even count the number of shots that he alters.
28:56And he's had himself quite a start to this one.
28:5925 points already.
29:01It takes most players the entire game to get 25 points.
29:05And he's got 25 in only eight minutes.
29:09He's had his way against a shorthanded team.
29:12I'm not going to take anything away from that.
29:15But he's just a talent.
29:18Well, he has 15-plus points, 10-plus rebounds, and 3-plus blocks in a game.
29:2313 times this year.
29:25And 8 times he has 5-plus blocks in a game.
29:29Just going back to that blocks graphic.
29:33And Spurs have it with Harrison Barnes.
29:36He turns and scores.
29:38Of course, very good three-point shooter, Harrison Barnes.
29:41But he wanders into the lane and scores.
29:44And he did that move.
29:44And a lot of players have that exact move.
29:46But I haven't seen many of them show me the counter to that move.
29:51So if I'm defending him, I know what's coming.
29:53And I make him show me the counter.
29:55Now they foul Luke as he goes into the rim.
30:00And foul's going to be on Keldon Johnson.
30:04Or is that Champagny?
30:05I think it was on Champagny.
30:09So Kennard, obviously a great shooter.
30:11No matter where he is on the floor.
30:19You know, there's a stat about driving.
30:21And do you get to the rim?
30:23When Wemby was in there, the Lakers drove to the basket.
30:27But had to kick it out 5 separate times.
30:31When they wandered in there as Luke knocks it down.
30:34Yeah, that's what Luke can do.
30:35You know, he's known as a three-point shooter, which is justified.
30:39But he does put it on the deck a little bit, which helps open up some of his scoring.
30:44And he is thrilled to be a Lakers.
30:46He said there's no bigger stage in the NBA than right here.
30:49One of the purple and gold.
30:51Offensive rebounds.
30:52That was an issue last night against the Thunder.
30:55And Johnson's got it and scores on the putback.
30:57Yeah, just because you're not guarding the guy with the ball, you can't relax.
31:01You've got to always be a leery of what you have to do to get position.
31:06He gave up 14 offensive rebounds on the last game.
31:10By the way, Cornette is in there.
31:12Luke, Luke Cornette.
31:13That's good defense.
31:14Nick Smith Jr. missed a shot and got back and comes away with the steal.
31:19Yeah, that's good hustle.
31:20Now Timmy's underneath, goes over Luke Cornette and scores.
31:28By the way, in the games that Cornette started this year, 22 of them, they're 18-4.
31:34Look at this.
31:34All alone, Champanning.
31:36Nobody there for the Lake Show.
31:38That was just a lack of communication between Vanderbilt and Kennard.
31:44Vanderbilt nearly ran with it.
31:46He's underneath, trying to work Cornette.
31:48Now it's Dalton Kinect finally getting an opportunity early in the game.
31:53And he gets the friendly bounce.
31:55Good follow-through by Dalton.
31:58He's had six DMPs in his last 11.
32:02This one might have hit the line.
32:03It did.
32:05So 39 put up by San Antonio, shooting 68%.
32:10There's an asterisk beside that, though.
32:13Victor, here's the asterisk.
32:15He's got 25 of the 39.
32:17And he's 8 out of 9 from the floor.
32:196 out of 8 free throw shooting.
32:21You know the Lakers are shooting over 50% when you look at it.
32:24They are pushing 30 right now here in the first quarter.
32:29You know, defensively, this San Antonio team has been getting better.
32:34At times, you've been able to go and get them a little bit.
32:37That one does not settle in.
32:39And here's what the Spurs want to do, too.
32:41They want to push the pace.
32:43That's one thing for sure that they are urging and focusing on is pushing the pace a little bit.
32:50Well, it's so much easier to score when you're in transition, some kind of early offense,
32:55than it is to walk it up and have to face a five-man set defense.
32:59So, most teams would like to play or score under those circumstances.
33:04You know, when you talk about the Spurs defense, again, it's improved.
33:08They're third overall on the year.
33:10Don't get me wrong.
33:11They're one of the best defensive teams in the year.
33:13But they had a little bit of a stretch where it wasn't happening for them.
33:17Look at this effort.
33:18Look at this effort by Keldon Johnson.
33:20Yeah, he just manhandled the backboard there.
33:23He took it away from a Laker.
33:25You know, the Winter Olympics going on.
33:26That's former Olympian right there, Keldon Johnson.
33:30Summer games.
33:32Nick Smith, Jr.
33:34Corner of the key.
33:35Boy, that's a good shot for him.
33:37That spills out.
33:37Taken out by Johnson, who has definitely been a factor here in the first quarter
33:42after coming in off the bench.
33:44Harper, the rookie.
33:45He'll be in that skills challenge competition at Intuit Dome this weekend,
33:53playing along with his father and his brother.
33:56Should be an interesting combo.
33:58Keep it in the family.
34:00Well, the Spurs are going to the line again.
34:02They've been there for, this will be their 13th and 14th.
34:05Eight of those by Victor.
34:08By the way, it's called the Shooting Stars competition.
34:12And Dillon, of course, one of the top draft picks out of Rutgers.
34:18Ace Bailey, the other one.
34:24By the way, Jake LaRabia.
34:25Lakers already very shorthanded.
34:27But Jake's got three fouls in the first quarter.
34:31Not good for the duration of the game.
34:34Well, Kleber's got three.
34:36How did Kleber get three so quickly?
34:38I know exactly how.
34:39I know exactly.
34:40He played five minutes and picked up three.
34:43Yeah, he was one of the victims of Victor.
34:4643-28.
34:50Ball will be out of bounds.
34:51Leon Wood will hand the ball to Dalton Connect.
34:55Cal State Fullerton.
34:56I remember the day, Stu.
34:59Would watch Leon tear it up.
35:02Leon was quite a player.
35:04Quite a player.
35:05And so is a gold medal winner.
35:11Representing the U.S.
35:14Vando.
35:15Right in front of the Spurs bench.
35:19All right.
35:19Shot clock is at 17.
35:20Game is at 31.
35:22Take it away by De'Aaron Fox.
35:24And he will throw it down softly.
35:27So 45 first quarter points put up by San Antonio on 68% shooting.
35:34The Lakers with four turnovers.
35:37Number four, Dalton Connect right near the timeline.
35:42You're going to get a foul.
35:43Now, Kelton Johnson used two hands.
35:45They had a foul to give.
35:46That time.
35:47So, gets the whistle for the foul.
35:48Lakers have it with a three-second differential game to shot.
35:53Well, seven different Spurs have scored in the quarter.
35:57The thing is, one dude has 25 and the next highest has six.
36:01Now, the Lakers are beating Victor 28-25 then.
36:05Smith Jr. gets into the key.
36:08That's a nice shot.
36:09Nick Smith.
36:11First play with Charlotte last year.
36:14They've got time with five, with four, three on the way.
36:17Not going to get there.
36:18The quarter should end.
36:19Oh, that's going to count.
36:21What a play by Cornette.
36:23Boy, not giving up at all.
36:25And Luke Cornette on the follow.
36:27And they put up 47.
36:28You know, you look at the scoreboard.
36:30You say, wow, we shot a really decent percentage from the field.
36:33Put up 30 points of our own.
36:35But the opposition put up 40.
36:38That's going to lead by 17.
36:45Nissan.
36:45At Nissan, we make cars that thrill.
36:48Experience the thrill for yourself today.
36:51Shop NissanUSA.com.
36:55Up here.
36:57Down the freeway.
36:5847-30.
37:00Lakers down big.
37:02This is, in fact, the biggest lead of the game.
37:06Most points the Lakers have given up in any quarter this year.
37:0947 right now.
37:10And it's the most they've given up in the first quarter since 2022.
37:14And if you missed it, you missed a whole lot.
37:16Those are Victor's numbers.
37:18Wemenyama in eight minutes.
37:20And Bronny James starting the second quarter.
37:23Getting an opportunity.
37:24He should play big minutes tonight.
37:26He finds Vando.
37:27Now to connect.
37:28Cash and shoot.
37:29Won't score.
37:30Cash trying to keep it alive.
37:31That time was LaRavia.
37:33And at the other end, Halab at the jam.
37:36On the break.
37:37And Harper finishes on the assist from De'Aaron Fox.
37:42Right now, this is a clink.
37:44Here's a behind-the-back pass.
37:49And it's kicked.
37:50A kick save and a beauty.
37:52Another look at the fast break by the Spurs.
37:56They get the easy dunk as De'Aaron Fox sets it up.
38:03And we look at the totals.
38:04Eight different Spurs have scored.
38:08And LaRavia with those three fouls.
38:11Taking it out.
38:12Jake was two for five for the floor.
38:14Had eight points in the first quarter.
38:17Oh, good move that time.
38:18Blocked by Cornette.
38:20Boy, the initial move by Vando.
38:22Thought he was going to free himself.
38:23Lakers can't get back.
38:25And they are streaking down the floor.
38:27And Harper finishes again for Fox.
38:30Not can't.
38:31Don't.
38:32They could.
38:33They didn't.
38:35Fast break points.
38:36Nine for San Antonio.
38:38Connect short.
38:40Rebound Cornette.
38:4151-30.
38:44Lakers 100 points a game on the bench.
38:50But they got to play defense.
38:51Here's Fox.
38:52That's tapping.
38:53It's taken by Connect.
38:56Second year in the league.
38:57Now Drew Timmy.
38:58He's open if you watch it.
39:02And he shoots it over the big fella.
39:03Can't score.
39:04Harrison Barnes with the rebound.
39:06And Wendell Yama will be coming in at the next whistle.
39:09It's old Jackson Hayes and Kobe Bucket.
39:11Bryant on the outside.
39:16Carter Bryant.
39:17And another slam dunk in the paint.
39:21That is 30 paint points for San Antonio.
39:24And the Lakers badly needed that.
39:26That was just a simple pass and cut.
39:28And the defender just relaxed and got beat on the play for the easy, easy do.
39:35So with 10-20 left to play, the Lakers are looking at a terrible scoreboard.
39:41By Shakey's Pizza Parlor.
39:47Serving up handcrafted pizza, crispy fried chicken, and famous Mojo potatoes since 1954.
39:57Downtown LA City Hall in the background.
40:00It's a beautiful shot with the fountain.
40:0253-30.
40:03All right.
40:04Here's the deal, Laker fans.
40:05You know the drill.
40:07Tacos are on the line still if the Lakers can somehow win.
40:11You're going to score two free tacos with a drink purchase from Jack in the Box tomorrow.
40:16This is Mount Everest they need to climb tonight.
40:20And we'll see how they do.
40:22Ten minutes to go in the second quarter.
40:24Rui is out there along with Bronny, Jack, Jake, and Kobe Bucket.
40:29LaRavia with the left hand, and he scores.
40:32This is going to ride with Jake, I think, as long as he can.
40:34Yeah, I mean, he's got three fouls.
40:36He's the only guy out there who's got right now as much time, maybe him and Rui.
40:41Now, Steph Castle, six assists, no turnovers.
40:44Fox has four assists, no turnovers.
40:48That might be on, was that on Jake, or are they going to call that one on Buffkin?
40:52It's going to be on Buffkin, I believe.
40:55No, it's on LaRavia.
40:56That's four.
40:58Because he's the guy that tripped him.
41:00Jake is the guy that tripped him up.
41:01That means Wambinyama is right back to the free-throw line.
41:12Well, he averages 24 a game, 11 rebounds.
41:15Shooting 51 percent, 36 percent from downtown.
41:24And that one settles in as a team.
41:27San Antonio.
41:29They're right around the middle of the pack shooting free-throws.
41:32They are very good at taking care of the basketball, though.
41:36And it's showing here tonight they've only turned it over one time.
41:39And they're in the top five in the NBA in that stat.
41:46Ball inbound now to Buffkin, who was signed to a 10-day contract.
41:51Now has a two-way deal secured.
41:56Hayes.
42:00Buffkin's going to let it go.
42:03And he's still going.
42:04Yeah, air ball into the first row.
42:08Normally where Will Ferrell sits.
42:10I don't know if he's here tonight.
42:13Now down the middle.
42:14Fox, Wambinyama.
42:15Is he going to try it again?
42:16Oh, look at him.
42:17He's just holding it like a loaf of bread as he moves in there towards the rim.
42:22I can grip the bat.
42:23Yeah.
42:23I'm like, yeah.
42:24Four on one.
42:26And they're going to let Fox score.
42:27LaRavia had to make a decision.
42:29He goes, all right, Paul.
42:30I think I'll take Wambinyama.
42:32That wasn't going to work anyway.
42:34It really didn't matter.
42:35Jake couldn't do anything with either decision.
42:40Another steal.
42:41Another turnover.
42:42This time.
42:43Oh.
42:44Wambinyama.
42:45What a play.
42:46Off the glass.
42:48Well, you see how much he ran down the floor.
42:51He was the only spur that came down thinking that it was just going to be an easy win for Darren Fox.
42:57I think what we learned with Reeves last week, that doesn't count officially as an assist.
43:02I mean, although it was a spectacular pass.
43:05And then here's Jack scoring.
43:06Man, this is all-star game type stuff that's going on right now.
43:12Now the outside hitting the three.
43:14I mean, they can do absolutely no wrong.
43:16No wrong against this makeshift Laker lineup tonight.
43:19They might put up 90 in the first half.
43:22Here they go again, pushing the pace.
43:25Doesn't matter who's in there.
43:26All the way blocked that time by the Lakers and out of bounds.
43:31Another look at that play from Darren Fox.
43:33Throws it up off the window.
43:36That was some play.
43:37I'm assuming that he was trying that.
43:39Oh, yeah.
43:39It was a bad shot otherwise.
43:41No, he was trying it.
43:43That was some play also by Victor not giving up on it and just continuing to run down the floor for his 29th point of the quarter.
43:51Well, it was the same thing before when they decided to pick up Wambinyama.
43:57Bupkin stayed with Wambinyama and the Fox said, I don't want to lay it in.
44:01I want to give it to my big guy.
44:04He's got 29 points in, what, 10 minutes of play?
44:08There's Bronny.
44:11Yep, on a 9-for-12 shooting night.
44:13Nobody else in double figures.
44:16Canard nearly loses it.
44:17Somehow gets it to Jackson Hayes.
44:19He doesn't even want to challenge.
44:21And he doesn't score.
44:22That's a good play by Hayes.
44:24A little head fake throws Victor just enough so he can get that shot up and over the top.
44:30Yeah, it gives Jack's credit on that one.
44:31Wambinyama guarded by Bronny.
44:33And Bronny fouls him or no.
44:35Offensive foul.
44:42I like the fact that Victor didn't complain on the call.
44:46You see how he kind of hooks the arm of Bronny a bit there.
44:50And his shoes have been very good at calling that particular kind of foul.
44:54Bronny has now appeared in one more game than he did all last season with his appearance here tonight.
45:02Luke finds Jackson Hayes.
45:04And the Lakers turn it over for the seventh time.
45:07Going down the middle.
45:09Here's Barnes going to shoot a three.
45:10And he hits it.
45:11And that is their sixth three-pointer.
45:16Lakers have made three.
45:19Points off of turnovers.
45:2110 for San Antonio.
45:22They have 65 points with still seven minutes to play.
45:26Bucking in and out.
45:27No.
45:28Taken out by Wambinyama.
45:30This will be extended garbage time.
45:33Bryant.
45:34Unless the Lakers get their act together.
45:36Trying two in a row.
45:38They don't get there.
45:38And the Rui's got it.
45:39The Lakers were out, rebounded by a healthy margin last night.
45:44And then lost to O. Casey.
45:45Again, that was interesting because there was no Luka and no Shea.
45:49So the two MVP candidates did not play.
45:53And Kennard hits from 15 feet.
45:57Out of Duke, just like his head coach, JJ Redick.
46:03Castle surveys the floor out on top.
46:06Standing on the logo.
46:07Wembe comes all the way out to the three-point line.
46:10Dumps it into Castle.
46:11They go into the corner.
46:12Three-pointer's going to be short.
46:15The Lakers have an opportunity.
46:17We are exactly, in a couple of seconds, halfway through the second quarter.
46:22Just a little change of direction that time by Bufkin.
46:26Got Castle out of position and he committed the foul.
46:32Now the Lakers in the fifth spot in the West.
46:35Half game back at Houston.
46:37Half game up on Minnesota.
46:39In fact, the logjam one-and-a-half game separates the three through six seeds right now in the West.
46:47And the Lakers have won eight out of 12 coming in tonight.
46:53How about this right now from Kia?
46:54You know, I've talked periodically this year about point differential.
47:10The Lakers have been in negative country as far as that's concerned.
47:14They are finally in positive land.
47:16But if this maintains, they're going right back into the negative look.
47:22Vassell with a hook pass.
47:25I was going to say, Vassell now has a rebound and an assist.
47:28He had gone seven minutes early and hadn't put up a stat.
47:31But he picks up an assist right there.
47:33That was during the time when Wembe Nyama was doing everything himself.
47:38Luke's got it for the lake show.
47:40Kennard finding Hayes, turning, shooting, not getting.
47:44When Wembe Nyama has his sixth rebound.
47:48Castle right back for Wembe Nyama.
47:50He's thinking about the three.
47:51This is big on Little right here.
47:53He goes in and scores again.
47:55That's 31 in the first half.
48:01Mike, what about the point differential I was talking about?
48:04Well, I like when you start to get into that, Billy.
48:07You know that very well.
48:08I guess I would just say this.
48:10This is the kind of season where you almost have to just not consider the point differential for the Lakers specifically.
48:17Only ten times this year have LeBron, Luka, and Austin Reeves shared the court for a game.
48:23Therefore, they're using so many different lineups that are just not optimal that it probably is a little bit more telling to just look at their win total.
48:30And, in fact, towards that end, it's impressive.
48:33And, Billy, with a 30-point differential right now, that right there takes you, like, three net ratings points down.
48:39You know?
48:39And so one blowout can ruin that whole thing.
48:41It's sometimes we can focus on it a little bit too much.
48:45Is that music to your ears, too?
48:46No.
48:46What I'm saying is we're actually overrated sometimes?
48:49I'm just trying to figure out what point.
48:51Do you get an award for point differential?
48:52Well, no, listen, Mike is a big Premier League guy, and I love the Premier League, too.
48:57Fulham is my team.
48:58Man U is his team.
48:59And goal differential means everything.
49:01Doesn't mean a darn thing in the NBA, but most of the teams, when they're playing well, have a big-time-plus point differential.
49:09And how about Jack's hitting a three?
49:12Jackson Hayes, top of the key, wide open, as Victor thought, hey, he's not going to take a three.
49:17He never takes a three.
49:19Well, he did this time, and Lyme drives it right through the hoop as the Lakers still trail, though, by a bunch.
49:33A lot of points, and a lot of those points have come on the inside.
49:36Points in the pain, and they've had their way, whether it's Victor or whomever.
49:41They've been doing a good job of attacking the glass, driving in, getting layups, and, of course, when you give up offensive rebounds,
49:49you're going to really be under the gun.
49:52Well, on the year, the Lakers average more points in the paint than San Antonio per game.
50:00Only a couple of more, but that puts the Lakers in the top ten.
50:04San Antonio in the middle of the pack.
50:05The Lakers have James, Kennard, Hayes, Smith, Jr., and Hachimura.
50:11Here's Rui, two on one.
50:13He goes all the way.
50:14Great play.
50:15What an effort.
50:16What an effort to deny him.
50:18What a great play by Castle.
50:21He came all the way back, challenged, blocked it.
50:25And the referee, Leon Winsons, you stay back there.
50:29Oh, wow.
50:30This is a super play.
50:32Look at this.
50:33Look at that elevation.
50:35Nothing but ball, but then the hard fall, and he's still laying on the floor.
50:40But that's just a sensational defensive play by Stephon Castle.
50:44Think about that.
50:45He is selling out like that with his team up 70-47.
50:50That means it doesn't matter what the score is.
50:52You're out there playing 100%.
50:54That's what you're supposed to do.
50:56Yep.
50:56You don't read the scoreboard.
50:58You're on the floor.
50:59You play as if the score is tied.
51:01Boy, that's some play.
51:03But Mr. Floor, again, is going to come away victorious.
51:08Oh, look at that.
51:10Rui was actually going to try to flush that with his left,
51:13but Castle was up a little bit higher.
51:16Makes a clean block, but then lost his balance on the way down.
51:20And he hits the floor.
51:22And you're talking about a huge part of this team.
51:26Huge.
51:27Stephon Castle.
51:30Maybe Mr. Floor didn't do all the damage as we maybe got a little poke in the eye on the play.
51:37Now, this is great news.
51:39At least he's up.
51:40Yeah, you're right.
51:42That might happen also.
51:43All right, we got a moment.
51:50I want to remind everybody, it just feels different here at Crypto.com Arena.
51:53Don't miss your opportunity to catch the Lake Show.
51:56The best place to get 100% verified game tickets all season long in the Lakers Ticket Exchange.
52:01It's the official resale marketplace of the Lakers.
52:04Lock in your seats now at Lakers.com slash Ticket Exchange.
52:08Lakers are in the midst of eight in a row at home and 15 out of 18 here at Crypto.com as Stephon goes back to the locker room.
52:18And holding his right hip area, too.
52:21So, Mr. Floor, again, comes away with the win.
52:25And that's, but still, that was just a sensational play defensively by Stephon Castle.
52:34By the way, Laker fans, can I go back to Jackson Hayes' three?
52:38Yeah, you can't.
52:40He hasn't missed this year, Stu.
52:41He's two for two.
52:44Just doesn't qualify.
52:46Not quite yet for the leaders.
52:48Yeah, just doesn't qualify.
52:49That was his second attempt and second make.
52:51Levern Yama, guarded by Kinnard.
52:56Look at this mismatch.
52:57Hello.
52:59I mean, I don't understand why they're switching that play to begin with.
53:02I mean, not that anybody can do a, you know, stop him when he's that deep.
53:06But you've got to put somebody like Jackson Hayes on him and keep him on him if you can.
53:10That's now 38 paint points.
53:13Rui.
53:16Overwimping Yama.
53:17Jackson tries to keep it alive.
53:19And not, not on the right-hand side.
53:21This is Bryant.
53:22Carter Bryant has eight points already in the game.
53:26Wimping Yama.
53:27Overwimping Yama.
53:27Overwimping Yama.
53:28Overwimping Yama.
