Using this method showed “the largest improvement in memory” anyone has ever found, according to one expert.

00:00The stronger your sense of smell, the more that you can train your olfactory system,
00:03the better you can sort of thicken your hippocampus.
00:06Right. Which is where the memories are stored.
00:08Correct. And so Alzheimer's like, you know, I think we've talked about Alzheimer's before
00:12in this show where, you know, the mechanism there is like when the hippocampus is like
00:17a little less thick. Yeah.
00:19You know, to put it very simply, it's kind of when that starts to degrade is kind of when the
00:23memories start to go. And so in this study, they did a bunch of research to see that like,
00:27is this true where if you can kind of train your olfactory system, you can smell a bunch of smells,
00:34you can, that leads to memory gains. And that is true by 226% in one study.
00:39Which is a lot.
