00:00UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi Today said that the party remained open to welcoming back
00:06former members, including Hamza Zainuddin, who is reportedly facing the possibility of
00:11expulsion from Bersatu. Zahid said that the Rumabangsi initiative provided an open platform
00:17for anyone wishing to return or join UMNO, whether individually or as part of a group,
00:22Utusan Malaysia reported. He added that UMNO is a place for party members or whoever champions
00:28the interests of the Malay community. The Rumabangsi initiative includes a special panel
00:34that will review and greenlight the return of individuals who left the party but are now
00:38seeking to return. The MPs who switched camps include Hamza, Sabah Bersatu chief Ronald Kiandi
00:45and Wanita Bersatu chief Mas Ermiyati Samsuddin. Hamza, the Bersatu deputy president, has been
00:52summoned to appear before the party's disciplinary board over complaints alleging attempts to
00:56sabotage the party's 2025 annual General Assembly and undermine its leadership.
01:02Speculation has also mounted that Hamza could be sacked as the leadership tussle between him
01:07and party president Muhyiddin Yassin intensifies.
