11:31This is as a teenager.
11:32I had chronic asthma, and I was looking to get well.
11:36I didn't know how.
11:37I was taking my medication, but I was still getting sicker.
11:41So I went on a healing retreat.
11:4324 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, my life had transformed because of food and herbs, plant-based living.
11:51Back then it was called vegetarian lifestyle.
11:53It wasn't vegan.
11:54Vegan just showed up 15 years ago, thereabouts.
11:57So that's what got me on my path because I got healed through food as medicine, yeah.
12:04Now for newcomers in this space, what's the difference between vegetarianism and veganism?
12:11Well, it's just another level because vegetarian back in the day, you were plant-based then.
12:17It was all vegetables, but then some lacto-over-vegetarian would have eggs and they'd have milk.
12:23So now veganism is the same really as vegetarian lifestyle, plant-based living, but everyone's not living plant-based even as vegans.
12:32Some are eating heavy cooked foods, junk foods, processed, all natural, so-called natural healthy food, but it's all not.
12:40So that's where the education comes in at, to learn how to eat to live, really.
12:44How to eat to live.
12:47Well, you are doing just that because you look fabulous.
12:51Good thanks.
12:52And you look fabulous.
12:56And I have a lot of questions that I want to personally ask you and I'm going to also stick to script here.
13:01What advice would you have for people who say they would like to eat plant-based but are also concerned about what to consume from day to day, being able to find the right foods, also budgeting.
13:15We hear that, you know, vegan food can be expensive sometimes.
13:19What are your thoughts on that?
13:20And plus those that travel as well, how do we do that and be successful and stick to it?
13:26Well, you know, traveling has got to be coming very easy.
13:30You know, after COVID, you all got through that.
13:33Well, there's plant-based foods no matter what restaurant you go to most, and that's just a fast food restaurant.
13:39So you can ask for the side dishes to become the main dish because you're just looking for vegetables and whole grains and nuts and seeds and herbs and all that.
13:49So you can actually go to most restaurants and still get what you need to be able to travel healthy.
13:54I mean, I came in yesterday, and my sisters, they have for me avocados and greens and cucumbers and lettuce and parsley.
14:01So you can have vegetable soups and vegetable broths and give okra.
14:05You can have, you know, so it's all there.
14:07Nature gives us an abundance of vegetables to consume.
14:11Yes.
14:12And I know sometimes planning ahead of time has a big component in whether we stick to something or not or whether we're ready to execute and sometimes plays a part in us giving up or folding.
14:28So how would you say we can step into this space and be consistent and not fold?
14:34Well, the reason why we did the seven-day, actually, is because if you heal in community, you really don't heal isolated.
14:41You can read the books.
14:42You can go to the workshops and the classes and you go home.
14:45And if you're all by yourself and you don't have sister friends or your mate walking with you, you're going to fall off.
14:51So find someone that you can connect with.
14:54And if you can connect everyone here, they're sitting next to someone, maybe that's a divine reason.
14:58You can do a work of healing together.
15:01So if you can unify in wellness, then you can be accountable to each other.
15:05If you fall off, you help the other one come on.
15:07Go to the health food stores together.
15:09Go to the farmer's market.
15:10Become food co-op members.
15:13Have meals together.
15:14Go out to restaurants, vegetarian restaurants together.
15:17And that community inspires you because you are, you're not only what you eat, but you're who you're with.
15:23Because whoever you're with, if they're eating junk and processed, you're going to want to have a little bit of that, a little bit of that here because you're five more growing.
15:30You know, so, yeah.
15:33Now, can you break down when the journey started for you?
15:37How long have you been vegan?
15:39Have you been through different tiers of eating?
15:42And how did it start for you, like, chronologically?
15:46Okay.
15:47Well, I started this at age 16 years old.
15:50And I started young, but I was very sick young.
15:53I was sick from age 7 to age 16.
15:57And I went on a healing retreat.
15:58So I'm 54 years in.
16:00And I'm not going to stop.
16:02And I encourage you, once you get on the path, do not stop.
16:05Because if you stop, you're going to get sick again.
16:07You get a little bit of junk food, a little bit of meat, a little bit of dairy, fried foods.
16:12All of those habits start kicking back in.
16:15So it's really a way of life.
16:17It's not something you hit and miss.
16:18And so from the moment that I started, first of all, I was so sick.
16:21When I got well, I made a vow to my own self.
16:24I don't want to get sick like that again.
16:26So I had to continue.
16:28The lifestyle is the power.
16:30And so through the decades, I kept going.
16:32But I didn't know what really kept me going?
16:34Communicating.
16:35Sharing.
16:36Helping others.
16:37So when I would see other people get well and I encouraged them, it got me deeper.
16:42I'm deeper now than I've ever been in my life.
16:44You know, you just keep going.
16:45And so it's a joy.
16:47So we understand, you know, you can feel better, of course, physically when you're consuming
16:52certain foods that are healthier for you.
16:53But what are the other places in life that the difference showed up that you can share
16:59with us?
17:00Well, you know, what you eat is what you become.
17:03You vibrate.
17:04We're actually energy fields.
17:06So when you're eating low, you attract negative people.
17:10You get into arguments.
17:11You get confused.
17:13You go through moods of depression.
17:15You're not confident.
17:16But when you eat healthy, plant-based sun, it's literally I'm asking you to eat plant-based
17:20sun foods.
17:21So from the sun photosynthesis into the plant, you take that in, you're eating sunlight.
17:27And when you eat sunlight, you become radiant.
17:30You become vibrant.
17:31You become Maya.
17:32You become healthy.
17:33You become yourself.
17:35So I would say raise your frequency if you want to have healthy relationships.
17:41And let's begin forward.

17:46Now, I know a lot of people, including myself, are very familiar with your very first book.
17:54Can you break down your headspace of when you were birthing this creation?
18:01Wow.
18:02That's how I think about it.
18:04So I want to encourage you.
18:06If it's in you, you can create it even if you don't think you can.
18:09It was someone who asked me, could you write, I know, Bob Law, Night Talk, back in the day.
18:16I came on the radio several times and I'll be talking about the healing and you can use
18:20plant-based to get rid of drugs, alcohol, fast process, toxic relationships.
18:25He said, can you just write this down?
18:27Could you put this in a book form?
18:29I said, a book form?
18:30I said, okay, I'll think about it.
18:32I came back on the radio a month later.
18:34I'm still hyped about the healing.
18:36He said, can you write as a book?
18:39I said, okay, uh-huh, yes.
18:42No clue.
18:43I came back on the third time, three strikes, you're up.
18:48He said, Queen of Four, guess what?
18:49Queen of Four's going to write a book.
18:52And I was, the next day I was on my bike.
18:53I'm a biker, still am.
18:55And people said, hi, Queen of Four, from their cars.
18:57You're writing your book.
18:58I said, I'm writing my book.
19:00That's how it happened.
19:02So that's how it all started for me.
19:05I just had to learn how to become a writer.
19:08But you inspired to make the impact on someone that probably encouraged you and put the thought
19:15in your head.
19:15They saw it before you saw it.
19:17Yeah, I had no clue, but I've had a clue.
19:20Because the creator gives us all a gift.
19:23When you clean up, you actually hear your gift.
19:26And then you're able to listen and follow your gift.
19:28I call it impeccable listening.
19:29So the book, it took a year.
19:32And I would get up at 4 o'clock in the morning.
19:34That special time, you want to get a gem, a jewel, you get up.
19:39Because the natural living allows you to rise up early and get in tune.
19:42So I heard the voice, how to write the book, what chapters, how to answer, what kind of
19:47recipes, who's going to need it, our people.
19:50And I wrote for my soul.
19:52I was writing my own life experiences of what was successful.
19:55And I recorded in the book.
19:56So it's been out for about 35 years.
19:59And going strong.
20:00Congratulations.
20:03I love it.
20:03And so many more books.
20:05Sacred Woman.
20:07Sacred Woman was a seven-year journey of meditation, visualization, detoxing, standing on my head.
20:15Because I had a channel.
20:16It was a channel from the most high.
20:18And it did come.
20:19I did studies.
20:20And you have to study.
20:21You have to practice.
20:22You have to put in the practice.
20:22So that book came out.
20:24And it's amazing to me.
20:25Because people buy the book.
20:27They love the cover.
20:28And then they look at the book and say, okay, this is a little bit deep.
20:32And I said, the only way you're going to really get the book is to live it.
20:36So we have a Sacred Woman Rites of Passage training that connects to the book so that you
20:41can be walked through and you have mentors.
20:43And we really walk you through.
20:44Become your own healer.
20:45That's what it's about.
20:46Well, amazing.
20:49Has anyone in the audience participated in Miss Queen Afua's detoxes, detox challenges,
20:57the products?

21:00Because I have tried them.
21:02I'm currently on them.
21:03I'm on a tour of 27 dates and beyond.
21:07Wow.
21:07And I must take them because, you know, being on the road or just traveling or just going
21:11through everyday life.
21:11What tour are you on?
21:12What is your tour?
21:13Queens of R&B tour with all of the ladies, SWV, Escape, 702 total.
21:19But being on the road is very taxing.
21:22Yes.
21:23You can get constipated, you know, get into a lot of processed, unhealthy foods, even if
21:28they're vegan.
21:29And vegan doesn't necessarily mean healthy as well.
21:31That's true.
21:31That's true.
21:32So, I take your products on the road and they do wonders.
21:35I even share them with people because they make a difference in my life, especially the
21:38green juice in the morning.
21:40Please, please expand because that's something that we need to know.
21:43And that's not something that I had growing up.
21:46You know, I grew up on a lot of things that were not healthy for me.
21:51And I feel the difference now in my 40s.
21:54Yes.
21:55And this takes my health and even my clarity mentally to another level when my gut is cleaner.
22:01I'm ecstatic about the fact that you are outwardly saying this is my lifestyle and you're on tour
22:07as an artist because it works together like hand in glove.
22:10The greater your health, the higher your frequency of your message getting out to the people.
22:15So, thank you for representing us on the highest level.
22:18I'm very proud of you.
22:20I'm still full.
22:21And I'm a work in progress.
22:22Well, we're all a work in progress.
22:23You know, because I love my processed vegan food, too.
22:27And, you know, the restaurants and the Uber Eats and all that kind of stuff.
22:30Oh, yeah, you can pull that.
22:31Well, you know, your team has to support you.
22:34They have to.
22:34When I came in, I said for the first time, I said to my team to move to Merit, I said,
22:40I'm starving.
22:41I never said I'm starving in my whole life.
22:43I saw a few grapes here.
22:45And I saw a cherry, a strawberry.
22:47I said, oh, my gosh, most high.
22:48I had some tea.
22:49I'm good to go now.
22:50Because, you know, with the higher your frequency, you don't need a lot, but you need
22:53everything real and healthy and organic and natural.
22:56And it really can carry you through.
22:58So, your food is going to carry you through.
23:01And that's what has happened for me.
23:02And it can happen for all of us.
23:04It can take you through.
23:06We're nearing the end of our conversation.
23:09And I think if you could give words of advice on the impact of holistic healing, because
23:17it is a difference between vegan lifestyle, and they intersect, but holistic eating, but
23:24also living, what would those words be to all of us so that we can take these gems with
23:29us and apply it to our lives daily and empower each other, but also elevate together?
23:34I would say, I'm working on a project now, but I've been doing it since the 80s, actually.
23:42And it's wound care love, wound care healing.
23:45When the book Sacred Women came out, 45% of black women have fibroid tumors.
23:50Now, that was in 2000.
23:52And 2024, 90% of black women have fibroid tumors.
23:57And now, the fast food industry has increased.
24:01And the health of black women has decreased.
24:03And there's a marriage between the two that's making us sick.
24:08So we actually have to detox the cravings.
24:11We have to clean up our blood through taking the fruits, the berries, the cherries, the strawberries.
24:16We have to clean up our colons, eating our ochre and our flaxseed.
24:20So actually, food is medicine.
24:22We have to cleanse our bodies because women are suffering due to a lack of knowledge, a lack
24:27of knowledge.
24:28So we're bleeding heavy, and we're clotting, and we're attracting toxic mates.
24:32And all we have to do is begin to cleanse because if you have a fibroid, you will be
24:37called maybe five years from now to have a hysterectomy because you don't know what
24:41to do.
24:42So I'm saying if we really take our work seriously and commit today, let today be the day of your
24:48commitment.
24:49Right?
24:49Stop being on the edge, one foot in, one foot out, because that one foot out can cause you
24:55to have surgical procedures, have an ovary removed or fallopian tube removed, and it's
25:00not necessary.
25:01So if we take our healing in our own heart, in our own hand, and let me support you, let
25:06us support you in your wellness, your consultations or your trainings.
25:10I have some wonderful things for you today, only 40 of you.

25:18I have a holistic school so that I can actually hold your hand, keep you inspired, keep you
25:23going forward, and keep you in a circle of other like women and men who want to heal
25:28thyself.
