00:00Six departments in Colombia were placed on red alert due to flooding caused by heavy rain.
00:06The Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies reported that the red alert has been extended
00:12due to extreme weather conditions and flooding in strategic watersheds in the departments of Córdoba, Cesar and Tokia, Chocó, Cauca and Nariño.
00:21The Institute also reported that around 50,000 families have been affected, while 9,000 homes have been destroyed.
00:30In this context, Colombian President Gustavo Petro stated that over 35,000 hectares were flooded and around 300,000 people were affected.
