00:00It's very hard to find a black doctor who takes your insurance that's in your actual zip code
00:04where you don't have to travel hours to get you, that's accepting new patients.
00:08Those are big barriers.
00:09So for us, we use technology to make black doctors ubiquitous.
00:12So the doctor just needs to be licensed in your state and on our platform and then you can see them.
00:15So our group, OB Care, we're actually having groups of black women throughout the whole state of California
00:21doing pregnancy together.
00:23So we're building community virtually through the doctor but also through each other,
00:26through lactation consultants, through group therapy every month
00:30and taking them all the way to one year postpartum with that.
00:33So before, you wouldn't have access to that without technology, number one.
00:37But number two, the other thing we're able to leverage is legislation that made it
00:41so that everyone has to have access to their results.
00:43So we're able to spy on the care they're getting and it's like,
00:46oh, they didn't tell you about baby aspirin to prevent preeclampsia?
00:49Red flag.
00:50And so we're able to tell them, you need to start baby aspirin to prevent preeclampsia.
00:54That's like a very easy intervention for prevention.
00:57And so we're able to kind of make sure people's labs are okay
01:00because also there are studies showing that black patients are less likely to have their results
01:04actually reviewed with them via physician.
01:06Even though they're ordering them, they're not actually talking to them about it.
