00:41Hello, welcome to From the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from De Lesos Studios in Havana, Cuba. We begin the news.
00:58The current authorities announced a plan of strategic measures to confront the oil blockade carried out by the United States.
01:06The plan focuses on optimizing fuel resources, prioritizing vital services for the population and accelerating the move toward energy sovereignty with renewable sources.
01:14It also decided to concentrate administrative activities from Monday to Thursday.
01:18In light of this, the government reaffirmed its commitment to social welfare and national security, ensuring that basic health services will remain a priority,
01:26with an emphasis on medical emergencies, material and child health, and the cancer program.
01:35In other topics, delegations from Colombia and Ecuador met in Quito to discuss bilateral relations in the areas of security, border control, energy, and trade.
01:44Colombia and Ecuador held a high-level meeting to address the recent bilateral crisis and seek solutions in security and trade.
01:50It should be noted that the meeting, which was held behind closed doors, was in response to the escalation of tensions following Ecuador's imposition of tariffs on Colombian products.
01:59For its part, the Colombian delegation, led by its foreign and defense ministers, seek to restore binational exchanges and normalize relations in the border area.
02:12And Venezuela's acting president, Delsi Rodriguez, met Friday in Caracas with Spain's former prime minister, José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
02:20The meeting was reportedly held to exchange views on the progress of the government efforts in favor of the national reconciliation and political dialogue.
02:27The program is part of the Bolivarian diplomacy of peace, aimed at boosting fraternal relations, dialogue, and solidarity with all political sectors in the country.
02:35The Spanish former prime minister also participated on Friday in a session of the Program for Democratic Coexistence and Peace, launched by the acting president on January 23rd.
02:44The project was conceived in a spirit of patriotism and anti-colonialism, aimed at strengthening stability, social harmony, and political dialogue in the nation.
02:57Mexico's attorney general's office reported on Friday the discovery of a body matching the description of one of the ten missing minors in Sinaloa, as well as the arrest of four individuals.
03:07The attorney general's office and the security cabinet's work in the northern state led to significant advances in investigation, including the location of bodies and human remains.
03:16The prosecutor's office said that it's possible the body is one of the missing persons because it has characteristics that match.
03:23They are working to confirm the body's identity.
03:25Although they have both occurred after searches and food work in Concordia, where evidence is being processed and searched for any element that may clarify the facts it's being considered.
03:35And in Colombia, a coal mining department of Cundinamarca exploded due to methane gas leak inside the mine, leaving seven miners buried and many injured.
03:48After approximately 24 hours of rescue were led by the National Mining Agency, the Civil Defense Corps, the Technical Investigation Corps, and the National Police, four bodies were rescued, and the search continued for three bodies located at least 170 meters deep.
04:02Captain Álvaro Farfan, the Far department's departmental delegate, said that high levels of methane were detected in the mine and that two back holes were used to improve ventilation.
04:14The National Mining Agency stated that they are investigating the cause of the incident and will take measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
04:23Moreover, in Colombia, a rejection of U.S. foreign policy was felt in the country's capital, where social movements denounced actions that threatened regional peace.
04:36Social and human rights organizations protested in front of the U.S. Embassy in Bogota.
04:41The protesters rejected the interferential and imperialist attack by the Donald Trump administration, which is evident in its participation in the Palestinian genocide through the massive sending of weapons, military funding, and political support to the Israeli Zionist regime.
04:54In addition, the protests condemned all forms of foreign intervention that violate the sovereignty of peoples, highlighting the aggressive policy of the U.S. administration as a threat to peace and the self-determination of nations.
05:06In Puerto Rico, on Friday, Family Secretary Susan Roy-Cuertes denied that there is a child abuse crisis in the country, despite several recent cases that have come to light.
05:20The officials state that official statistics on substantiated cases have remained stable and that there has been no increase as confirmed by the figures.
05:28In a press release, she clarified that this does not mean they are downplaying the situation, as it has always been an extremely serious matter.
05:35The Secretary of the Department of Family Affairs maintained that official statistics do not reflect an increase in substantiated cases of abuse.
05:43She rejected the idea that there is a social crisis, despite claims from various sectors, after several cases were reported in the media.
05:58And in Panama, exhumations have begun to identify the victims of the 1989 U.S. invasion.
06:04In a historic event for memory and justice, Panama's Truth Commission began exhuming the bodies of victims of the last U.S. military intervention in Panama, which took place in December 1989.
06:14The invention, called Operation Just Cause by the George Bush administration, led thousands of Panamanian civilians dead.
06:21This action seeks to clarify the crimes identified that disappeared and bring truth to the families who, for more than three decades, have demanded justice for one of the most brutal and least recognized military aggressions of U.S. imperialism in Latin America.

08:52This diplomatic deployment coincided with the arrival of the French Consul General Jean-Noel Poirier, who also took up his duties in Nook.

09:13And on Friday, February 6th, the European Commission proposed the 20th package of sanctions against Russia, targeting strategic sectors such as energy, finance and trade.
09:22The sanctions are expected to take effect on February 24th, which marks the fourth anniversary of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.

10:14Medals will be awarded for the men's and women's sprint events and the mixed relay.
10:19Additionally, new medal events will be introduced in other sports, including women's double luch, women's large heels sky jumping, the mixed team skeleton event, men's and women's dual moguls freestyle skiing and the alpine skiing team combined event.

10:46Over 70,000 spectators backed the San Siro Stadium and millions worldwide witnessed the rejection of the United States,
10:52which contrasted with the heartfelt applause for the Venezuelan athletes.
10:56This reflected Italy's widespread rejection of President Donald Trump's administration's imperialist actions,
11:01including this military aggression against the Bolivar nation, threats to invade Greenland, and the recent genocide on measure to cut off fuel supplies to Cuba.

12:59The government of Venezuela committed to Bolivarian diplomacy of peace strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms and expressions as it constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security.
13:12And Hezbollah condemned the terrorist bombing of the Khadija Tulkubra Mosque in Islamabad during Friday prayers.
13:25The group emphasized that this extremist ideology does not target a specific group but strikes anyone who stands for truth against falsehood, regardless of religion, gender or ethnicity.
13:34Hezbollah called for Arab and Islamic cooperation to eradicate this criminal ideology and remove its perpetrators from societies.
13:41In his statement, Hezbollah offered condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the wounded a speed of recovery and called for security and stability for the Pakistani people.

14:13He warned that if confirmed, such actions would raise serious concerns under international humanitarian law.

16:11The New Year transforms Vietnamese nurseries into galleries showcasing the Khai Han techniques, a century-old art that shapes Mandarines into impressive sculptures.
16:24Artesanos del Caikan artisans transform fruit trees into sculptures in gardens in Venn Giang, Vietnam.
16:35These living decorations are part of the Tet rituals, the Vietnamese New Year, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune to welcome the arrival of spring. Some nurseries stood out with representations of horses up to 3 meters tall.
16:56Venn Giang is a town known as one of the largest ornamental plant centers in Vietnam. For its residents, fruit trees like Mandarines are not mere objects they are part of a ritual, where living matter is shaped to attract good wishes.
17:14To create these sculptures, we began planting the old mandarin trees in pots at the end of last year. We took care of them and by the 8th lunar month, we started bending them and shaping them into horses.
17:28Once the desired shape was achieved, we placed them on a long base and sculpted the pot according to our vision, with the help of artisans skilled in design.
17:37The technique used by the artisans is Caikan, which is guided by four fundamental values, antiquity, valuing the exposed roots, uniqueness, creating original and creative shapes, beauty, giving the pieces visual harmony, and cultural expression, integrating the nation's spiritual and philosophical values.
18:02More than simple gardening, it is a multi-year effort of patience, where the artisan carefully guides each branch to ensure the tree produces ripe fruit, fresh shoots, and vibrant flowers, exactly in time for the lunar new year. A true expression of the world view and identity of the local people.
18:21This year is the year of the horse, so the gardeners have created beautiful bonsais shaped as the horse of success, and horses pulling gold ingots. I think these artisans are exceptional, as they have brought to life splendid works of art that reflect the rich traditional culture of our nation.
18:44The majestic horse figures mark the way to Tet, a time when the trees symbolize abundance, their fruit foretells prosperity, and their growth represents the continuity of the nation's culture.
19:03And the 2026 Rotterdam International Film Festival establishes itself as an essential platform for Asian genre film, using action and martial arts to explore political and resistance subjects.
19:22The festival highlights productions that combine popular genres such as order and action with local realities.
19:29It distances itself from Western stereotypes about Eastern cinema. Special emphasis is placed on Southeast Asia, with notable presence of countries such as Indonesia and India.
19:39Highlights include Blazing Fizz, which represents the evolution of extreme action, and The City of Warriors, which uses the action in the walled city of Kowloon as a metaphor for cultural resistance.
