00:00One of the things that was really important to us was to highlight how Essence has been so intentional about exposing their audience, the world, the country, to black beauty, to black fashion, to black models, and how instrumental it was.
00:21And so what you'll see when you watch the series, which starts August 18th, is that throughout the five-part series, we really do take a moment to zero in on the models and the advertising.
00:36And some of the really brave instances that happened were when Mr. Ed Lewis and his counterparts took stands to make sure that the black women from the 1970s to the present saw themselves and could see all of our beauty in so much diversity and just full out.
01:02So that's something that you'll see throughout the series and we're really proud of.
