00:00So I think, you know, everyone talks about, you know, America's not doing great in terms of maternal mortality.
00:04However, when you look at black women, and we started in California, you know,
00:08California has the lowest maternal mortality rate in the country.
00:10However, when you look at black women, black women are four to six times more likely to die.
00:15And a new study came out showing that if you're a black woman who's in the wealthiest quintile,
00:19you're more likely to die than the poorest white woman.
00:22So there's, that's inequity, that's disparity.
00:25And so for me, I think about as an OBGYN, how do I meet that problem?
00:29And that's why our problem is about being accessible, or we fix that problem by being accessible,
00:33like where the cost of a copay, $50 to have a second opinion with a black doctor for 20 minutes.
00:37We don't do insurance because that's a way to create that barrier.
00:41But also, it's affordable so that anybody can afford it.
00:43And we have a free visit fund for if you can't afford $50 because it's everyone.
00:47It's the rich person down to the poorest person.
00:49We all have the same issue. We're all in it together.
