00:00The Tower of David Jerusalem Museum wanted to become the new gateway to the Old City of Jerusalem,
00:06allowing people to really come into Jerusalem and dive deeply into the history covering 4,000 years.
00:14And we worked with a huge team of people, of course archaeologists, historians, designers, architects,
00:23but we also worked with clergymen from Jewish communities, from Christian communities and from Muslim communities
00:31in order that we are able to tell the story of Jerusalem through original artefacts
00:39and through immersive and interactive technology in the most respectful way.
00:43I hope that people leave the museum with much more knowledge of the complexities and of the beauty of Jerusalem,
00:55how it has remained a city of inspiration, of prayer, of hope.
01:01And I hope that by coming through the Tower of David, perhaps they'll be also able to see that it's not all divisive,
01:09but that the Tower of David bridges these cultures, these heritage,
01:16and that we can look at Jerusalem in a more golden light.
01:22And in fact, the Tower of David has created a program called Diversity,
01:28and that's with a C, not with an S, that takes young people and looks at Jerusalem today
01:34and unravels the questions, you know, people come here and Jerusalem has so much media on it
01:40that they think it's, that the Old City, for example, is an enormous, enormous space.
01:44The Old City itself is less than one square kilometer.
01:48And it is layers upon layers of history, and people can understand that physically
01:52from coming to the Tower of David.
01:55You can literally see those layers, you're literally walking through those layers of history.
01:59But I think when time is given to understand the long time period,
02:07then you come out with a much better, more interesting and deeper knowledge
02:15and hopefully love of Jerusalem.
