00:00The Knicks fall to the Pistons.
00:04It is over.
00:06The Knicks did not have a good showing.
00:07The Knicks were without two of their starters in this one,
00:10Carthy Towns and also OG and Inobi.
00:14Josh Hart left this game with an injury.
00:17The Pistons were without Jalen Duren.
00:18Deuce McBride also out for a long period of time.
00:21Deuce McBride out for a long period of time.
00:23There's some conflicting information that I've heard on Deuce McBride
00:27that I'm going to start with here.
00:28I meant to mention this during the game.
00:30There was a report from The Athletic that he would be out six to eight weeks.
00:34However, I can tell people that we here at The Post have talked to some people
00:40who are doctors, and they said sometimes with that injury,
00:43the herring sports hernia, that could sometimes be 10 weeks to 12 weeks,
00:50doctors have told us here at The Post.
00:52So I can see that.
00:54So we'll see.
00:55I think the six to eight might be a little optimistic.
00:57I hope it's six to eight, but that is a little optimistic.
00:59It could also be just a reevaluation period.
01:01And it could be that, too.
01:02So, you know, you hope he's right by then.
01:04But not a good night for the Knicks in Detroit.
01:07They lose to the Pistons for the Pistons second time this season, blowout fashion.
01:11Guys, what I will say to this is, personally, do I think this is a big deal?
01:19No, but I'm also the person that doesn't overreact about a lot of stuff in the way I think a lot of people who watch basketball and the NBA do.
01:26Would you have liked a better showing?
01:30Sure.
01:31But all things considered, with the roster that was out there tonight, I'm not losing sleep over this one.
01:40No, I'm not losing sleep.
01:42I will say this.
01:43I do not like the level of confidence that maybe the Pistons are gaining now versus the Knicks.
01:51I feel as if with the way that they performed so far this season as a whole and the way that they perform now two times against the Knicks,
01:58it's going to give them an added level of confidence going into a potential playoff series against the Knicks.
02:03So I'm not a fan of that.
02:05But with that being said, you have to consider who has been out there or who's not out there for the Knicks.
02:12I think the Knicks are just fine.
02:14I would also say there's a lot to still be learned from this matchup as well because Jalen Munson has yet kind of struggled.
02:22This is the second time he struggled against the Pistons this season.
02:26First game, he had six turnovers.
02:28I don't know the final stats of tonight's game, but he clearly struggled again tonight.
02:32The Knicks need to always, every team needs to be in the lab, but I think I kind of like when teams expose what the Knicks do wrong.
02:45And the Pistons expose faults in the Knicks' offense.
02:51They've done it.
02:52And so now, regardless of who was in and out the lineup, they've exposed some things.
02:58And so it's only going to make the Knicks better.
03:00At the end of the day, I'm always going to – nothing happened at the trading deadline to make me feel like the Knicks don't have the best roster in the Eastern Conference.
03:12And as long as I hold on to that belief, I chalk it up as a learning lesson.
03:18I think you're looking at this pretty rationally.
03:21I don't think everybody else does that.
03:22And I understand that people will say, look, the Knicks tonight, they scored 80 points.
03:27They had 80 points.
03:29It is their lowest scoring game in quite some time.
03:33I think last night 73 against the Sixers.
03:36This was years ago.
03:37So it's been a long time since the Knicks have scored this low amount of points.
03:42Jalen Brunson was not good tonight.
03:44Okay?
03:44Nobody can say that.
03:45Am I killing Jalen Brunson, who just had a 42-piece against the Denver Nuggets, one of the best teams in the NBA?
03:52Absolutely not.
03:53He was 4 of 20, he was 0 of 8 from downtown, terrible.
03:58He actually did not have a turnover tonight.
04:03One of the things I saw from him –
04:04Didn't feel like that.
04:04Didn't feel like it.
04:05One of the things I saw from him in the Denver game is he had four turnovers in the first quarter, I believe,
04:10and then only had one the rest of the way in that one.
04:13Jalen Brunson, 12 points.
04:14Jalen Brunson usually figures things out.
04:17Brian mentioned during the game, Mikkel Bridges was the best player.
04:20Knicks lose 118-80.
04:2180 points for the Knicks.
04:22That's not saying much.
04:23Not tonight, at least.
04:25Like, I tend to look like you at stuff and say, games like this, fans can get mad because they want things to be perfect,
04:37but it all comes down to end day.
04:38How do you respond?
04:40Now, we'll get to more, and they got a game on Boston, and we'll see what they can do against Boston and all that on Sunday.
04:46But, yo, nothing's perfect.
04:49Sometimes you've got to get exposed.
04:51You know what I mean?
04:52Sometimes you've got to get exposed, and then you've got to respond.
04:55I think there's some people who would say, this happened already.
04:58Yeah, but the circumstance matters, right?
05:04I get it.
05:04It's easy to jump on, oh, they got blown out, LOL Knicks, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
05:08I think 70-point differential with the Pistons or something along those lines.
05:11And those numbers are what people are going to hop on.
05:13I don't know how much you take out of a game with no cat, with no deuce, with no OG.
05:19What are we doing?
05:22Like, there's only so much I can take out of that.
05:24Tip your hat to the Pistons, great game played.
05:27You did what you're supposed to do after losing to the Wizards the night before.
05:32We understand.
05:33Yeah.
05:34Brian, are you concerned about the Knicks, who now have won eight out of nine games,
05:39or does this ring the alarm time?
05:41For you, are you ready to trade Jalen Brunson in the offseason?
05:45You know what I mean?
05:46Start Tyler Kolek.
05:47What are you doing?
05:48No, I think if you had concerns, all of which we do to varying degrees,
05:55I don't think tonight is the reason you're concerned necessarily,
06:00just because of the shorthandedness of the team.
06:02I think it's just in general.
06:04You have questions about the team's defensive ceiling.
06:06You have questions about the team just gelling offensively consistently,
06:09despite their offensive talent.
06:11But tonight it's a little bit different because you don't have four of your best players
06:17finishing the game because Josh Hart also got hurt with an ankle injury
06:20and left prematurely.
06:22Deuce is out for a while.
06:23Cat's out.
06:24OG's out.
06:25Jalen Durant's out for the Pistons, and that's meaningful because he's been all-star level
06:28and their second-best player.
06:30But you'd probably, if you want to take away something from a game,
06:33you would take away more from the first game.
06:35But we also outlined during this show, regular season last year,
06:40you got your ass whooped by the Cavs, you got your ass whooped by the Celtics,
06:42and then in the playoffs, we saw what happened with the Celtics for different reasons,
06:46I would say, stylistically.
06:48But here, tonight specifically, I'm not freaking out about it.
06:54It's not good.
06:55Nothing about this is great.
06:58But if I'm going to remember something going into a playoff series,
07:02this isn't necessarily going to be part of it.
07:05I give the Pistons credit more than anything else because they're not playing with their food.
07:08They have a team who's shorthanded, who's missing some important pieces,
07:13and they're like, okay, we're winning by 40.
07:15We're not underperforming the way a lot of other teams in the NBA would do this.
07:19And you see this throughout because a lot of teams are injured,
07:22a lot of teams have guys on the injury report on a night-to-night basis,
07:25and they're always playing shorthanded.
07:27And the Knicks are going to be doing more of that now that Deuce McBride's out
07:29for an extended period of time.
07:31But they're taking advantage of that and being like,
07:33yo, we're not going to just mess around and lose this game,
07:37especially coming off of a loss to the Wizards at home last night.
07:40On the second half of a back-to-back, they basically took it out on the Knicks.
07:43This felt like the game they wanted to get up for.
07:45They didn't particularly care about last night.
07:47So if anything, I just give credit to the Pistons for being really, really good.
07:51I think they're an awesome, awesome team right now,
07:55and they have to prove it in the playoffs.
07:57And I think even last year in the playoffs,
07:59they played well in that series against the Knicks.
08:02I think they can take another step this year.
08:04Yeah, we'll see with that.
08:05I would love it.
08:06You had a good poll.
08:07Can we put up another poll in the chat?
08:08But are you concerned following this Knicks' second loss to the Pistons,
08:14second blowout loss to the Pistons, yes or no?
08:17Are you concerned, yes or no?
08:19Would like to hear from the people what the concern level is.
08:23Josh Hart, you mentioned, rolls his ankle in this one.
08:27That could be concerning.
08:29That, I think, could be concerning.
08:30He's had a few things this year.
08:30You talked about Harrison.
08:32He's missed a couple games.
08:33You talked about how good he was playing before.
08:34That he had the three straight games of 20-plus points before the Wizards game.
08:39He's played really good basketball.
08:41He's been an energizing buddy for his team.
08:43He's been knocking down his threes this year.
08:45He's done the things you were talking about.
08:47If they're without him, Boston and beyond,
08:50or maybe through the All-Star break,
08:51how concerned are you about that?
08:55Seattle 1 to 10, how concerned are you?
08:57A 5.
08:58Okay.
08:59Yeah, because even if he misses the Boston game, what does that mean?
09:02They lose a regular season game to Boston?
09:04What did losing to Boston mean last year?
09:08Absolutely nothing.
09:09It meant going to the Eastern Conference Finals.
09:12I will say this.
09:13I'm always going to flip it to a positive side.
09:15If they don't end up playing, if he can't play, Josh Hart can't play.
09:20Hopefully that's an opportunity to play Mitch and Kat together.
09:26I know Mike Brown has started to kind of put that in the rotation.
09:30Let's see what that looks like as a starting lineup.
09:32Because, let's face it, when you're going against potentially the Cavs,
09:36when you play against potentially the 76ers,
09:38when you play against other teams in the Eastern Conference,
09:42you might want to flash that double big lineup.
09:44Let's say the Knicks go to the NBA Finals.
09:47You might want to flash that double big lineup against OKC with Chet and Isaiah Hardenstein.
09:52You might want to flash that double big lineup when you go against the Nuggets with Jokic and Aaron Gordon.
09:57So, when a team is this good on paper and you have an injury or two during the regular season,
10:04that's not catastrophic.
10:06This could be a blessing in disguise.
10:08Let's mess around and see what we got.
10:10I like looking at it like that.
10:11You can experiment with some things.
10:13And Mike Brown has shown the willingness to do that, like to experiment with some things.
10:17So, we will see what goes on here.
10:22I do think, you can't run away from this.
10:26I thought this was a big weekend for the Knicks to show what they have.
10:30But you and even I, when we came into the building today, we were like,
10:32ah, man, like no cat, no OG kind of takes a little bit out of this.
10:37Also, with the deuceness of him not being there, takes out of it here.
10:41But, it's Boston.
10:44It's New York-Boston on Sunday.
10:45You know, you want to see a bounce back.
10:50The Knicks generally this season, despite that 2-9, except for that 2-9 stretch,
10:54have been a team that's bounced back pretty well.
10:58Do you expect them to show, depending on who's out there too, we don't know.
11:03We'll see what the injury reports are tomorrow and stuff.
11:05Do you expect them to bounce back with that kind of fight on Sunday?
11:07I do.
11:08I mean, I would expect Cat would be back as well.
11:12And I would like for him to take advantage of Nikola Vucevic.
11:20Yeah, I don't think this is the type of team that, this is not the type of team that I think is going to take a spanking like this.
11:26Well, and they got spanked tonight.
11:28Look back to last night.
11:31The Pistons guys got upset by the Washington Wizards, and they came out with a level of intentionality tonight.
11:38I think the Knicks come out with some intentionality on Sunday against Boston.
11:42Whether they win or lose, I don't think they're going to tolerate getting destroyed, which is what happened tonight.
11:49It's funny because this game is interesting to me, Brian, because I thought initially, despite who they didn't have,
11:55they came out with some good energy defensively, and then it just all fell apart.
12:00Yeah.
12:00You know, it just all fell apart.
12:02Did you look at it?
12:02I don't think, sometimes I think effort gets used lazily when we talk about sports.
12:08I don't think this had anything to do with effort.
12:10They were just out-executed, and they were out-talented.
12:16Sometimes that happens.
12:17They just, Detroit has more talent with what they had in their roster, despite not having Durant tonight than they did.
12:24Would you like to see certain people be better?
12:26Yes.
12:26Yeah.
12:27I don't think, again, I don't think when you're watching a lineup of Brunson, McHale, Mitch, Josh Hart,
12:35and I'm forgetting the other person who was there, but basically, like, you know,
12:38you're more of your core guys, and Cade's off the floor, and Durant's out,
12:42and you're losing those minutes that are led by Tobias Harris, essentially, and Asar Thompson, and Ron Holland.
12:48That's probably not ideal.
12:50So, there are-
12:51And Harrison warned about those minutes, too.
12:53Yeah, and there are pieces of this where, look, I have questions about, in the playoffs,
12:59this team is going to be able to throw a lot of size onto Jalen Brunson.
13:02Size and switchability from a defensive standpoint, and if you're going to have Jalen Brunson play
13:09inefficiently, if they play each other in the playoffs, from an offensive standpoint,
13:13then other guys have to step up offensively, consistently.
13:18So, like, I have questions about the matchup from that perspective, but we're not even there yet.
13:21As far as tonight, we'll see.
13:23And as far as Sunday, Boston won that game against the Heat tonight, where they were getting destroyed
13:28early on, they came back and won the game, 98-96, speaking of old-school basketball,
13:34low-scoring basketball, and unders.
13:36The Celtics, 36-15 in the third quarter against the Heat, third quarter for the Heat,
13:42as their fans call it.
13:44Nikola Vucevic, who Harrison just mentioned, 11 points, 12 rebounds off the bench,
13:49also four assists in 28 minutes, was a plus 11.
13:52Namias Keita, 2 points, 11 rebounds in the starting lineup in 22 minutes.
13:57Jalen Brown had a big night, customary.
14:00They shot 28% in one from three.
14:01I think that might have more to do with how disjointed the Heat have been as of late.
14:05Kalil Ware played 10 minutes, so it looks like that's going on.
14:06How many threes did Boston end up hitting in that game because they were struggling?
14:0910 of 36, and he were 13 of 40, so 32% to 28%, not a big difference from the field,
14:15not a big difference either.
14:17I want to watch the game and see what actually happened there.
14:19I know Wiggins, Bam, and Powell were cooking early, but then ended up fading away,
14:24and their bench seemingly didn't do anything.
14:26But Boston's coming in also healthy.
14:29Like, Jason Tatum's their only injury right now in the injury report,
14:31and they've figured out ways to win.
14:34This is not last year's team where they were just three-point crazy.
14:37And granted, they were shredding regular season teams last year
14:40and obviously the year before.
14:42But this year, they're more balanced.
14:46Jalen Brown, obviously, like, he'll take some threes.
14:48Derek White will take some threes, but they have a little bit more
14:51of a physical defensive presence now, and they can switch.
14:54They have guys that can switch on defense also, like Hugo Gonzalez, by the way,
14:59who's a rookie who's playing really well defensively this year for them.
15:02Jordan Walsh has done it in spurts as well.
15:04And Sam Houser, people think because he's, like, you know, a white dude,
15:08like he can actually defend a little bit as well.
15:11Jalen Brown, obviously, Derek White, obviously.
15:14Vucevic, I don't know how much he's going to help him defensively,
15:16but I do think he'll be re-energized.
15:18Like, I think you'll get a better version of him than what you've seen
15:21from the Bulls last couple years.
15:22So that matchup is fascinating to me.
15:24I hope the Knicks are healthier for that because I actually want to see
15:27where both teams are coming away from tonight.
15:30Yeah, I'd definitely like to see that.
15:32Looking at some of the stats in this one, we talked about Jalen Brunson,
15:36his 4th 20.
15:37Mikkel Bridges, Brian said he was the best player.
15:407 of 16 tonight, 19 points.
15:42A team high, 19 points for the Knicks.
15:43Knicks only had 3 players in double figures.
15:45Bridges, Brunson with his 12.
15:47Jordan Clarkson, 11 points off the bench.
15:49However, I will, we should note, that was an adventure
15:52with Jordan Clarkson in his minutes off the bench.
15:55A lot of garbage time tonight.
15:56A lot of garbage time tonight.
15:58A lot of garbage time.
15:59Tyler Colick had 19.
16:00Kevin McCullough Jr. had 19.
16:01He did?
16:01Minutes, minutes, minutes, not points.
16:03Oh, I was like, what?
16:04Minutes.
16:05Be very clear.
16:06Pacom Dottier got 7 minutes.
16:08Trey Jemison got 7 minutes, so it was good.
16:10Josh Hart, we talked about him leaving the game.
16:11No update on him yet.
16:13Mitchell Robinson, this is a stunner.
16:15Only 3 rebounds in this game tonight.
16:18In 20 minutes.
16:19RIP to everyone who took over 10.5.
16:21Yeah, Mohamed Diawara did not pull out that win.
16:24Didn't pull out the over either.
16:25Nobody won anything betting-wise today, right?
16:27Well, no, you.
16:28You got that under.
16:29Well, it was a part of a parlay.
16:31Ah, so you did not win.
16:32Mohamed Diawara missed all his 3s,
16:34so he didn't get the 5.5 points.
16:35Josh Hart got hurt.
16:36Didn't get the 7.5 rebounds.
16:38So, nobody, no.
16:40Well, I mean, I'll win in some of these other games
16:42because I don't know if you've seen the Pelicans
16:45and the Timberwolves,
16:46but Anthony Edwards is 33 points,
16:48and we have time left.
16:50So, yeah.
16:51I would have won,
16:51except Mikael Bridges missed his only free throw
16:53when he had three free throws at the line.
16:54He only had two of three.
16:56I would have had 20 points.
16:56I would have had 20 points.
16:56I would have had two threes.
16:59Let's see.
17:00Yeah.
17:00Nothing in this next game.
17:01All right, so none of us won there.
17:03The Knicks didn't win here.
17:05Look at some of the comments,
17:07the comments that you guys have to the game.
17:09We have Greg Filmstuff says,
17:12I'm not concerned,
17:13but if people want to crash out,
17:14then crash out.
17:15Sounds like Greg.
17:16I know some of y'all will crash out.
17:18Jake Lomazo, 8867,
17:22says,
17:23Knicks aren't winning the finals this year.
17:24We have too many guards and less wings for the bench.
17:26That's not good enough,
17:27and we have no defensive mentality anymore.
17:31Did we watch the last game?
17:32I would say worry about getting to the finals first.
17:36But also, like,
17:36the Knicks just played defense
17:37really good the last eight games.
17:40I know this is going to sound crazy,
17:41people,
17:41even though they gave up 127 in Denver.
17:43If you looked at their defensive effort
17:44against the number one offense in the league,
17:46it was really good.
17:47Like, you can't have watched the last eight games
17:50before to say the Knicks had no defensive mentality.
17:52Now, you might tell me
17:53how they looked against in January,
17:55and that didn't look great for most of January.
17:58They've been better than an average defense recently.
18:01Like, I still don't think they're great.
18:03I still think there's a higher ceiling they can get to.
18:05Let me ask you this, Harrison,
18:06since we have this.
18:07I've been saying all year,
18:08and then I kind of backed off of it for a little bit.
18:10Ryan knows this.
18:11Knicks can be a top eight to ten.
18:14I said they need to be a top eight to ten defense.
18:15Do you think they can get there?
18:17They're about 13 right now
18:18heading into tonight's game.
18:20Do you think they can get to top ten,
18:22into the top ten?
18:23You said they're 13 right now?
18:25Yep.
18:26In defensive range.
18:27They've largely been below that.
18:29They've been 17, 19 a lot of the year.
18:31At the bottom part of that losing stretch they had,
18:34they went down to, I think it was 19, 20.
18:37Yeah.
18:37They've shot back up.
18:38Do this eight.
18:39I think they can.
18:43It's going to be tough.
18:47But we'll see what Jose Alvarado could do.
18:50Right?
18:50But we'll see what maybe some lineups can look like
18:56with Mitch out there more with Cat.
19:00You seem like Mike Brown's starting to play it a lot more in that.
19:03When they get to the second quarter,
19:05you're seeing Mitch come in and play with him a little bit more.
19:09So there's an opportunity there.
19:13And frankly, with all the teams that are going to be tanking,
19:15the Knicks might smack around some teams and creep up there.
19:17Because there might be about 10 to 12 teams
19:21that are just no good during the second half of the season.
19:23So there's an opportunity.
19:26I would also say this, too.
19:27When it comes to defensive rating,
19:28one of the things that could help them
19:30is just having better offense.
19:32Like you saw tonight,
19:33part of the reason why they were so bad defensively tonight
19:35is because they had so many poor offensive possessions.
19:37Transition defense.
19:38Transition defense.
19:39Yep.
19:39A lot of missed long threes,
19:41less long rebounds,
19:42and guys pushing it.
19:44Or even just like not taking care of the ball.
19:47There's poor shot quality.
19:49Even just getting better shot quality
19:51will make you a better defensive unit.
19:53So that's on the table.
19:55I want to bet on it.
19:56Thankfully, it's not a market you can bet on.
19:58Yeah.
19:59Yeah.
20:00Okay.
20:00So you wouldn't bet on it.
20:01That's not a lot.
20:01That's on the table.
20:02Not a lot of confidence.
20:04Russ Beetle 63 says,
20:05not concerned at all.
20:06This team cannot win every game,
20:07but this team can win a seven-game series.
20:11Yeah, sure.
20:11They can win a seven-game series.
20:14They got to play better than this.
20:17You know, I think if healthy,
20:19if, look, I'll still say this.
20:20We seem like,
20:21if healthy, I'm picking the Knicks.
20:24I'm not saying I'm overconfident in it,
20:27but I would pick the Knicks.
20:28Pick the Knicks to win the East?
20:29Yeah, I still think the Knicks are winning the East.
20:31I'm still on that vibe.
20:32Of course.
20:33I'm still on that train.
20:33I still think,
20:34Ryan, don't look at me like that.
20:36What?
20:36What are you thinking?
20:37I'm not looking at you like anything.
20:38I thought you were like,
20:39I don't know if I'm going to say that.
20:40I don't think you've moved off that all season, no.
20:42No.
20:43There's no reason to.
20:44I don't see your,
20:45I think they should.
20:46I have respect for Detroit,
20:48and I think it'll be a tough series,
20:50but I'm still taking the Knicks.
20:51Assuming that, you know.
20:52Let's see if Detroit doesn't get there.
20:54It gets to where I think they would play the Knicks.
20:55Assuming they both get there.
20:56Right, we'll see.
20:58I also want to be fair to Denver,
21:00because Aaron Gordon was out,
21:01and Payton Watson didn't get hurt in that game.
21:03Payton Watson,
21:03I don't know if you've seen him lately,
21:05but Payton Watson is ridiculous.
21:07Those teams were a little shorthanded.
21:11This was the Knicks' most lopsided loss
21:13they had since 2019.
21:14So we went back to them.
21:15We talked about the pre-COVID days.
21:17Oh, my goodness.
21:18Right?
21:192019.
21:19And this is a much better team.
21:21Do you remember 2019?
21:22Those first two months of Julius Randle.
21:24Oh, my God.
21:26Wait, was it the 18-19 season?
21:28Because that's the Luke Cornett era, Knicks.
21:311920 season, not the 18-19 season.
21:321920?
21:33Okay, that's R.J. Barrett's rookie year.
21:36Julius Randle.
21:36A little Marcus Moore Sr. up in that team.
21:39A bunch of mercenaries.
21:40Yeah.
21:41Bobby Portis.
21:42Portis, yeah.
21:42Who came through with an over for me tonight.
21:45Yeah, that was a rough time.
21:47Tough time.
21:48Was Wayne Ellington on that team?
21:50I believe so.
21:51Tough times.
21:52Reggie Bullock, Dennis Smith Jr.
21:55And they lost to Milwaukee 132-88.
21:57That was the game that was their most lopsided game.
21:59This is the most lopsided game they've had since then.
22:01They gave up 132.
22:02Oh, Milwaukee was good.
22:03No, never mind.
22:04Milwaukee was a content.
22:04They lost to the Heat in the playoffs, but Milwaukee was a contender.
22:07Was a good team.
22:08I mean, they won the title the year after.
22:11Can you name the starting lineup for the Knicks?
22:13That season?
22:14Yeah.
22:14For that game?
22:15That game?
22:16Wow.
22:16Was Kadeem Allen in it?
22:18Jeez.
22:19No.
22:21Kadeem Allen was not in it.
22:23But damn, that is a pullback from that season.
22:28That is a throwback from that season.
22:30He won zero for the Knicks.
22:31Kadeem Allen won zero.
22:32That team stunk.
22:33He might have been the year before.
22:34I don't know.
22:35That wasn't Alonzo Trier either.
22:37R.J.
22:37Barrett was in the starting lineup for sure.
22:40R.J.
22:40Barrett, Julius Randle.
22:41Hold on.
22:43R.J.
22:43Barrett.
22:44Julius Randle.
22:44Julius Randle.
22:45You're right.
22:46You have two.
22:47Ennis Cantor or Mitchell Robinson?
22:49One of them two?
22:49Mitchell Robinson did not start.
22:51Ennis Cantor not on the roster.
22:53Kadeem Allen did play in that game, just to let you know.
22:55He did play 60 minutes.
22:57He played 60 minutes in that game.
22:58That's wild.
22:59Frank Nilekina?
23:01No.
23:02Oh, my God.
23:04All right.
23:05Who was the center?
23:08I can't remember.
23:08Who started at center?
23:10Yeah.
23:10It wasn't Luke Cornett.
23:11It wasn't.
23:12No.
23:12Come on.
23:13You should get this.
23:15I don't think people are enjoying it.
23:15I got to see this.
23:16Who does this person start with?
23:19He's going to be married when he doesn't know it.
23:21Yeah.
23:22Who's this person?
23:22It's not Bobby Portis?
23:24No.
23:24Bobby Portis came up with the bench.
23:25Who's the person?
23:25Who's the person?
23:26Who does this person's name start with?
23:28T.
23:29No, that's too many.
23:29Taj Gibson?
23:30Taj Gibson.
23:30Oh, my God.
23:32All right.
23:33You got two more.
23:34You got R.J. Barrett.
23:35You got Julius Randle.
23:35You got Taj Gibson.
23:36What positions are the other two?
23:38Small forward and point guard.
23:41Jesus Christ.
23:43I got to see this.
23:44Dennis Smith Jr.
23:44Dennis Smith Jr.
23:45started in point.
23:46Okay.
23:46Reggie Bullock?
23:47Oh, yeah.
23:48No, Reggie Bullock.
23:49It was a couple seasons.
23:49This was a mistake, bro.
23:50Yeah.
23:51You and I just talked about this first in the other day.
23:54No.
23:55It was a mistake.
23:56You and I just talked about this first in the other day.
23:59Alonzo Trier?
24:00Alonzo Trier played 12 minutes in this game.
24:02Had 10 points on five shots.
24:04He did not get the start.
24:06Who is the small forward?
24:07What does it start with?
24:08K.
24:09K.
24:09Kevin Knox?
24:10Kevin Knox.
24:12Kevin Knox.
24:13Kevin Knox.
24:13Wait.
24:14Dennis Smith Jr.
24:16R.J. Barrett.
24:17Kevin Knox.
24:18Julius Randle.
24:20Taj Gibson.
24:20Taj Gibson.
24:21Those were the days.
24:22What a time.
24:24That was the last pre-Tibs team, right?
24:28Taj Gibson.
24:29The Knicks were 4-17 at the time.
24:31They were 1-9 on the road with this loss.
24:33I actually didn't think they were going to be that bad that year.
24:36They were bad.
24:37You know who got minutes in this game?
24:39Remember Izzy Brasdakis?
24:41Oh, my God.
24:42He's still getting them checks.
24:45Damian Dotson.
24:47Wow.
24:48Recorded minutes in that game, guys.
24:49I like Damian Dotson.
24:50Damian Dotson.
24:51Mitchell Robinson, 23 minutes and 4 points.
24:54He did a 14 rebounds.
24:55Look at what New Yorkers dealt with.
24:56I think I saw something that said Mitchell Robinson's the longest tenured player in the NBA.
25:00For his current team?
25:01For his team that drafted him.
25:03Is that correct?
25:04No, because Steph Curry.
25:05Steph Curry.
25:05Oh, Steph.
25:06No.
25:06He's the longest tenured, Nick, for sure.
25:08Oh, you know what it is?
25:09He's longest tenured for that draft class.
25:11Oh, okay.
25:11Because in 2018, like, Shea's been traded.
25:14Yeah.
25:15Brunson's obviously moved.
25:17That's it.
25:17Luka's been traded.
25:19Trey.
25:19That's it.
25:19Aiden's move, like, that's what it is.
25:23Which is crazy.
25:24All right, back to some more comments.
25:26Jake Lomazow says we're not going anywhere with this roster.
25:29Izzy Brzezakas, by the way, is in the EuroLeague right now.
25:32Wow.
25:32He's playing for Zagras.
25:34Jake Lomazow seems very concerned that we don't have any size.
25:37Are you concerned about the lack of size on the Knicks?
25:39I think they do need a third center.
25:43Not one to, like, I just, Huckporty, man, I expected more.
25:49It's really where I'm at.
25:50And I think in the playoffs, just in case, something happens.
25:54Like, Cat has an injury history.
25:55The laceration is not a long-term thing, but he has an injury history.
25:58Mitchell Robinson has an injury history.
26:00I just think you need an insurance guy.
26:02And I don't know if Huckporty is the guy you want to throw in just in case.
26:05Both guys could also, Cat specifically, get into foul trouble.
26:10And, like, I'm not trying to play OG at center if I'm Mike Brown.
26:14I know it worked against the Sixers in spurt.
26:16Small sample.
26:17But, like, Boston just got bigger.
26:19Some of these other teams, like, Detroit's bigger.
26:22Cleveland's got two centers.
26:23Well, a center and a half, but, like, two bigs.
26:26Like, Orlando's big as well, also.
26:30Like, even though they've had Orlando's number.
26:33Has size cost them games, though?
26:35No.
26:36I mean, the Knicks' superpower is offensive rebounding.
26:38One of the best offensive rebounding teams in the NBA.
26:41Here's what I would say.
26:42Size helps them.
26:43They feed off of it, I think.
26:44I wish they had more size on the perimeter.
26:47See, that's where I really do.
26:49I wish they had a student guard that wasn't Mikael Bridges that was over 6'5".
26:53A lot of teams would like that, though.
26:55You basically want, like, a bigger Josh Hart or Josh Hart to just be taller.
26:58I would like another Josh Hart.
27:01But, like, 6'8".
27:02Yeah.
27:036'9".
27:03Exactly.
27:04That you could throw on guys.
27:05Yeah, that'd be nice.
27:06Yeah, because it's funny because Jake Lomazzo said, you know, that's why they lose games.
27:11And I'm like, I don't think size is the reason that they've lost the games that they've lost.
27:17No, look at the rebounding numbers.
27:18The Knicks are one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA.
27:20Yeah, it's not size that does it.
27:25Look, it helps they have the best pound-for-pound rebounder in the game in Josh Hart, in my opinion.
27:29They've got the best offensive rebounder in the game with Mitchell Robinson.
27:33Yeah.
27:33And they have the best top overall rebounder.
27:36Rebounder and an elite defensive rebounder, Carl T. Towns.
27:39Yeah, so size ain't...
27:40Now, size on the perimeter, I think that's what you've got to specify.
27:43Size on the perimeter.
27:44Not still saying that I don't disagree with you, that they can't use another big for insurance.
27:48It's just an insurance bag.
27:49It's a small thing.
27:49It's a small thing.
27:51It's insurance bag.
27:51Size on the perimeter.
27:52I don't know if they'll lose a playoff series because of it.
27:54I don't know.
27:56It's not high on my concern list.
27:59Yeah, I mean, look, I think for all the things Jose Alvarado's going to bring,
28:03and you know I love Jose Alvarado, he ain't going to bring size.
28:06The Knicks, it's going to be very difficult to have a perfect roster.
28:11Has there ever been really a perfect roster?
28:13No, we like to act and talk like people have perfect rosters, but they don't.
28:16Yeah, yeah, yeah, every roster has a whole.
28:18It's the best team you're usually close to.
28:21Yeah, it's hard in the second apron.
28:22The best team that's maybe close to a perfect roster,
28:24there's even things that Oklahoma City Thunder wish they could have more of.
28:28Offensive.
28:28Offensive, probably like a little bit more shooting if it was up to them.
28:30And to be fair to them, they've been destroyed with injuries this year.
28:34Yeah.
28:35They're still the best team because of their depth,
28:37but their injuries have been, like, Shea's now out for a couple weeks.
28:41Which shows you, you need to be healthy.
28:43It's about when your injuries happen, at the right time.
28:45What do you learn from your losses at the right time?
28:47Right.
28:48Right?
28:48Is Oklahoma City freaking out?
28:50I mean, if they don't have Shea, they're probably not going to win.
28:54But now it's about can they survive these weeks without Shea.
28:57Someone asked if DOR is a big, and no, he's not.
29:01No.
29:02He's a big wing that could turn in.
29:04He's a tall wing.
29:05He's a tall, big, tall team.
29:06Yeah.
29:07He's a tall wing that could turn into what you would like down the road.
29:09Not now, a guy that can be on the perimeter, that can guard.
29:12I like his makeup.
29:13He doesn't look lost defensively.
29:14I'm a DOR fan.
29:15Yeah.
29:16But it's different.
29:16He's not a big.
29:17He's not there yet.
29:18Mitchell Robinson is a big man.
29:20Evan Mobley's tall, man.
29:22DOR.
29:22DOR is tall wing, man.
29:25I told you guys I covered that 19 Raptors team.
29:28DOR, he reminds me of the impact that OG Ananobi had on that Raptors team,
29:36which was minimal.
29:37Yeah.
29:37Remember, OG didn't play in those playoffs.
29:39He had a, I forget what the injury was that he had.
29:42He had a lot of injuries.
29:43Yeah, he had a lot of injuries.
29:44So he never really, he won the title with Toronto,
29:47but OG never really won the title with the Toronto.
29:49He never really played.
29:50He started blossoming after that.
29:51But I think, but he'll tell you, him being there for that
29:55and watching what happened and learning winning habits
29:59and seeing how Kawhi played and seeing how the team came together
30:02is what has made OG what he is now.
30:05And so Diawara being in this situation now,
30:08watching a guy like OG blossom,
30:10potentially being affiliated with the Eastern Conference Finals
30:12Championship team, maybe being affiliated with an NBA Finals team,
30:16could maybe make him something going forward
30:18that the Knicks could be very happy about.
30:20I love his makeup.
30:21He obviously has a very, his physical frame is something you want to build upon.
30:26You want him around for hopefully what can be a long extended playoff run.
30:30It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being a contributor
30:33by next year in meaningful games.
30:36No, it wouldn't surprise me at all.
30:38I think oftentimes when these kind of games happen like this
30:43and, you know, there are people among the fan base that totally ignore context
30:47because they want the Knicks to win every game.
30:50And they're looking, we saw this one, the Knicks stunk too.
30:53Everybody's like, Mike Brown.
30:55Mike Brown's the problem.
30:56They got to find, there has to be one thing to point out, right?
30:59And sometimes it's not one thing.
31:01Sometimes you got a bad night.
31:02It happens.
31:03Like sometimes we don't have to overreact.
31:05You know what I mean?
31:06I'm not saying it's good.
31:07I'm with Brian.
31:08It ain't good.
31:10Yeah.
31:10Right?
31:11It's not the end of the world either.
31:13Like I can't say a 40-point loss is nothing.
31:17It's not, it's obviously not everything.
31:20And, you know, there's a lot of context to it.
31:22I don't think it's as bad a loss as the game where they were more healthy
31:25and lost by 30.
31:27I agree.
31:27You know, that one was like, you came into it and it was like,
31:31it felt like what this could have been also before the injuries.
31:34Like it felt like the game of the season at that point.
31:36And there's going to be more of that moving forward because we're getting
31:38to a more important point of the calendar.
31:42You would have rather not lost by 40, I think.
31:44Yeah.
31:45I mean, ideally.
31:46It's not ideal.
31:47You know, like you would have rather like Brunson not shoot whatever it was,
31:51four for 20, and not play basically a quarter and a half of garbage time.
31:56You know, like, because a lot of Knick fans, let's be real,
31:59y'all would have been pumping your chest if they kept it close and lost by four.
32:05Maybe they cover.
32:06You know what I mean?
32:07And it's a close game.
32:08And it's like, oh, look at that.
32:09Without OG, without Mitch, without Deuce McBride,
32:13and with Josh Hart leaving, you only lose by four.
32:16And the Pistons, even without Jalen Duren,
32:18like that still would have been like a feather in their cap, so to speak.
32:22And on the other side, Pistons fans would probably be there freaking out,
32:25being like, we lost to the Wizards,
32:27and then we only beat the Knicks without these guys by four.
32:29But this is the regular season.
32:31Like, this is just, if you've been watching covering basketball for long enough,
32:35like, you know, like, there's just the ebbs and flows of this.
32:38Like, this team lost two games, I mean, lost nine games in an 11-game stretch
32:45and then won eight straight.
32:46Like, that's just ridiculous.
32:48But the thing that's amazing to me is that the fans don't learn from that,
32:52and they're just still, like, overreactions.
32:53Like, you just saw this.
32:55You have, like, literal recent history.
32:57We did a video, five reasons why they suck right now.
32:59Yeah, and basically we're like, yo, like,
33:02we're not saying this is going to be the case the entire year.
33:05Right.
33:05But this is why they're losing right now.
33:08And these are the things they need to fix.
33:09And some of them are going to come back up
33:11because there have been issues with this team
33:13that they still need to work through.
33:15But as Harrison mentioned, there's no perfect team.
33:17Every team has issues.
33:19Oklahoma City, like, people still look at their offense.
33:23I look at their offense sometimes, and I'm like, yo,
33:25like, it gets into the mud a little bit too often.
33:27And they've also been very hurt this year.
33:29It's very hard to repeat.
33:30No one has since before those Raptors teams, as a matter of fact.
33:34It was the Warriors.
33:35Warriors, yeah.
33:35You know, Denver's been really banged up this year.
33:37We talked about Houston's flaws.
33:39Detroit, they need playoff experience,
33:41and also they might need a secondary score.
33:42The Knicks, we've talked about their flaws.
33:44Boston, they're waiting on Tatum,
33:45and even when Tatum comes back, not everything's going to be fixed.
33:48So this is kind of like the NFL season in a way
33:51where it's like you don't really know who's going to win the title.
33:53You don't really know.
33:54I love that because this NFL season was crazy.
33:56I just hope we don't get, you know, the Celtics,
33:59because that'll mean the Patriots are just in two championships.
34:02We don't want that.
34:04RussBeatle63 said, thanks, guys, for your thoughts.
34:07I think D.A.R. body-wise is similar to Mitch when he was a rookie.
34:10I mean, it's slender like that.
34:12D.A.R. might fill out.
34:13I think he'll put on, yeah.
34:15Yeah, I think he puts on and becomes that,
34:17but I just think his game is more,
34:18a little bit more perimeter-oriented than Mitch.
34:20Yeah.
34:21He's probably like a bigger three to me that is going to be very switchable.
34:26You could play him up on some fours, and I think you'll be fine.
34:29But I think that's the profile of D.A.R.
34:31If he's good enough to be on the World Cup team in 2027 for France,
34:36then that's a good sign, is what I'll say.
34:37That'd be a good sign.
34:38That's my barometer for him.
34:39Good sign with his development.
34:40Play in some FIBA competitions.
34:42Let's see that toughness.
34:44What are you guys looking forward?
34:45I mean, obviously, this is a disappointing night,
34:48even though I'm personally not taking too much into it.
34:50But is it more of an effort thing for you, Harrison, on Sunday,
34:56of seeing how they – is it like more – I say more of an effort thing,
34:58more of a timing of how they come out on Sunday against the Celtics
35:03in response to what happened tonight?
35:09It's just going to be an integrity thing.
35:11Just coming out there and really being intentional about
35:14trying to win the game, running the offense,
35:17not getting discouraged offensively or defensively,
35:22and responding to a lopsided loss like this.
35:28That's really what it's about.
35:30I mean, that's all you could ask for.
35:32I don't care who's in the lineup.
35:34You just have to come out there and play hard
35:36and not get discouraged by –
35:40and that's the one thing that the Celtics do to a lot of teams.
35:43They discourage them with the amount of threes they will hit
35:45or how disciplined they are sticking to the defensive principles.
35:49You just want the Knicks to go out there and compete.
35:52And I think, you know, we don't have to get into the whole Mike Brown
35:56versus Tom Thibodeau thing.
35:58We've done that enough.
35:59Yeah, I don't need to do that.
36:01But I will say the one thing about Tom Thibodeau
36:03or the one thing about the Knicks from last year,
36:06there's no quit.
36:08And so I would love to see how they respond Sunday in Boston.
36:14Yeah, you know what's funny?
36:15To that point, I'll say –
36:17I don't know if you're not saying this.
36:18I think the Knicks have fought a lot this year.
36:20I thought the last game against Detroit was a really interesting game for me
36:25because when Mikel Bridges had that foul at the end of the first overtime,
36:31that felt like a game where it was like, you know, the Knicks are just going to lose.
36:35We've seen that movie before.
36:37And he did it.
36:39Jokic won for 13 from three.
36:40You've got to take advantage.
36:42And Mitch, a lot of good defense by Mitch.
36:44Now, Jokic settled a lot in second night back-to-back,
36:46but a lot of good defense from him.
36:47Well, he just came back, too.
36:48Two.
36:49You know, that's the other part of it.
36:51That's another thing, too.
36:53I agree with you about the intentionality, though,
36:56that they have to have the intention of coming out on Sunday in Boston.
37:03We'll see how they look there.
37:06It'll be interesting.
37:07James Edwards of The Athletic tweeted out,
37:10there was no update on Josh Hart other than, you know, that it's an ankle injury.
37:19So there's no update on Josh Hart, just that he has an ankle injury.
37:23I'm sure there'll be more on that tomorrow.
37:25Hopefully it's not severe.
37:26We don't know if Josh Hart will be able to play right ankle again.
37:30So a little bit concerned in that fact that it is the same ankle for him.
37:34Josh Hart leaving this game, I think he only had six rebounds.
37:37He had 5.6 rebounds, two assists in this game.
37:41He's tweaked his ankle like four times this season or something like that?
37:46Yeah, so that's a little bit of a concern.
37:48That's a little bit of a concern for him here today.
37:50So the Knicks, they fall 118-80.
37:54Russ Beedle says, I want them to kick Boston's ass, as always.
37:58I understand.
38:00Everybody always wants to see them do that.
38:06We'll see.
38:07Look.
38:11Everybody was bad tonight.
38:13Everybody was bad.
38:14Brunson was bad.
38:15Except McHale.
38:16I'll give it to McHale was good.
38:18McHale came out for his first two threes.
38:21He tried to set the tone.
38:23Well, listen, here's one last thing I would say, too, on this.
38:27It's like, look, I think sometimes fans think that they are more angry than these players are.
38:34Nobody likes to lose by 38 points.
38:35That's more of like, oh, you make so much money.
38:40You can't possibly be as pissed off.
38:45I don't like when people do that.
38:47I don't like it either.
38:48You know what?
38:49You can't prove it either.
38:49You can't prove it.
38:50And some of the people that say this, you have bad days at your job.
38:53And nobody's coming and criticizing you.
38:55We say this.
38:57It's a job at the end of the day.
38:59You know what I mean?
39:00It's a job.
39:01Some people have bad days at your job, and nobody's coming and criticizing you, and you're criticizing God.
39:05They care.
39:06Yeah.
39:06As all of us who've covered teams, been around teams, these athletes care very much.
39:12Nobody's trying to be out here getting their butts kicked.
39:14A lot of them.
39:14A lot of them.
39:15Now, look, there are some who don't.
39:18I don't know if any of them are on this team.
39:20I don't believe that.
39:21You know what I mean?
39:22I doubt that.
39:23I really doubt that.
39:24I don't believe anybody's on this team.
39:26Yeah.
39:26All right.
39:26So, Knicks lose 118-80.
39:28Any final thoughts for you here?
39:31Even though you're 0-1 in the seat on the watch party.
39:34I don't like that.
39:36Hey, just flush it, y'all.
39:37It'll be okay.
39:40You know the injury's going into the game.
39:42The Knicks will be just fine.
39:45Don't ruin your weekend over this.
39:48I'll tell you that.
39:50Yeah.
39:50The last time I did that over a sports team.
39:53I'm not doing that.
39:54Russ Buehl says, maybe Josh should sit and get rest now.
39:56Be ready for April onward.
39:57Ankles need rest to get better.
39:59April.
40:00April's OD.
40:01No, no.
40:01I think he's just saying he wants him to be ready for April onward.
40:04I understand what he's saying.
40:05I agree with that.
40:06I think Russ is just saying, like, hey, let's make sure he's ready for that time and going
40:09forward so don't play around with him here.
40:11I don't necessarily disagree with that.
40:13I think you have to.
40:15It wouldn't shock me if Josh Hart doesn't play after the All-Star break.
40:18No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no rush.
40:20There's absolutely no rush for all of that.
40:21It wouldn't shock me.
40:22Brian, any final thoughts for you here?
40:26I'm looking at the poll to see what people.
40:29Oh, we got 30 votes in.
40:30Are you concerned after the Knicks' second blowout loss versus the Pistons season?
40:3467% of the people said yes.
40:37They are concerned.
40:38Yes, that makes sense.
40:39I mean, look, sleep on it.
40:42I'll be all right.
40:42I wonder how much of the 67%, though, I would say probably the majority of them, if I'm being
40:48fair, had concerns already that this reinforced, if anything else.
40:54I don't know how much of the 67% are people who had no concerns and now they're concerned.
41:01You know what I mean?
41:01Like, because of this loss, in a game where they're shorthanded losing by 40, like, I
41:06don't think it's that.
41:08I think it's more like they already had concerns about this team, which we saw during the skid
41:12where they fell in 9 of 11 games, that came back in this one.
41:18I think that's what they're holding on to more.
41:20I don't think it's, like, new stuff that pop up because of this game.
41:23Interesting.
41:28If I may shoot y'all some bail.
41:30I'll shoot them some bail.
41:31I'm also like they won eight games before this, right?
41:33Like.
41:34I know, but Detroit is the number one team in the East right now.
41:37No, it's today.
41:38Maybe we can throw this in the chat before we leave.
41:40I'll ask this to you guys.
41:42You can put it in the chat and put it as a poll, guys.
41:45It's Sunday.
41:46I can't believe I'm asking this about a game in February.
41:48It's a must-win game against the Sunday.
41:50Stop it.
41:50Stop it.
41:50I had to ask it.
41:52I had to ask it.
41:53Is Sunday a must-win?
41:56Them boys focus on the Super Bowl.
41:58Be alright.
41:58I don't know.
41:59Come on.
41:59Stop it.
42:01I don't think it is.
42:01I don't think it is.
42:02I was trying to, you know what?
42:04A must-win in February.
42:05I think a must-win in February is ridiculous.
42:07I think more of the fan base would tell you that.
42:11You think so?
42:12Put that poll up, guys.
42:14I want to hear from the fans.
42:15Is this a must-win on Sunday?
42:16The poll won't be the be-all, end-all, obviously.
42:18I'm just curious.
42:19Sample size, comparatively.
42:20But I do think there are more fans than you think that would be like,
42:23yeah, I'd better see them beat Boston.
42:25Part of it is Boston.
42:27But I think they're going to say, I'd better see them beat this team.
42:29Or else what, is what I'll say.
42:31Or else what.
42:32Or else what.
42:33What are you going to do?
42:33Stop watching Knicks games?
42:35They're not going to do that.
42:36They're not.
42:37That's not happening.
42:38Yeah, I think a must-win in February is crazy.
42:41The Knicks are 2-0 in noon games this year.
42:44This is a 12-30 start.
42:46But 2-0 in noon games.
42:48They beat the Magic on December 7th at home and beat the Cavs on Christmas.
42:53Both of them at noon.
42:55In afternoon games in general, we talked about the Sixers game,
42:58which I still think is their best win of the season in Philly.
43:00That game was at 3 p.m.
43:02So that's the third game.
43:04And then they have two losses in 5 p.m. starts and another 5-30.
43:08So if you want to be overly technical,
43:10you could say 4-2 in afternoon games this year.
43:124-2.
43:13Quote from Mike Brown, got to give the Christians credit.
43:15They kicked out behind, starting with me.
43:17Thought the team didn't play fast against Detroit.
43:20We talked about this.
43:21The pace.
43:22Harrison, you brought that up.
43:23And, quote, you have to against their defense.
43:26You have to move the ball quickly.
43:28We talked about it.
43:29Harrison said this earlier on.
43:30And it's hard with that athleticism, but you have to still.
43:32Yeah.
43:34You know, and I look at a comment here in James Edwards' tweet about that,
43:37and it's like, Mike Brown's offensive game plan has been awful.
43:39Like, guys, I'd like to say this.
43:42You don't think Mike Brown told the guys this before the game?
43:45You don't think this is part of his game plan?
43:46You think he's just saying this now after the game?
43:48No.
43:48Like he learned that we're going to have to do that?
43:50He just learned that tonight.
43:51Okay, come on.
43:52They know what to do.
43:53They just have to execute it.
43:54There you go.
43:55And I think that's the difference between Mike Brown and Coach Thibbs.
43:59I don't know if Thibbs believed in moving the ball as much as Mike Brown does.
44:08Now, the execution still might be at the same level.
44:12But I think Mike Brown believes in an offense that will allow the Knicks to thrive
44:18in a matchup like this.
44:20It's about them moving the ball.
44:21It's about him coaching it better.
44:24It's about them playing better and executing better.
44:27Point blank, period.
44:28Yeah, I agree.
44:29I think a lot of it comes down to execution.
44:32I mean, I said it before.
44:34You've got to get to the point where Jalen Brunson can bring up the ball,
44:38give it up, and feel confident that he'll get it again without there being more
44:43than five seconds on the shot clock.
44:45The thing I think was frustrating for Knicks fans is you've seen this.
44:49You've seen him do it in spurts.
44:51You've seen it.
44:51It just comes back to the C word we're talking about, just the consistency of it.
44:55Yeah.
44:55You've seen him do it.
44:56They were doing it through the cup run.
44:57Some of it was what you mentioned earlier, playing with second ball handler.
45:00We saw lineups with Colek, Clarkson, and Brunson.
45:04That was like two months ago.
45:05You'll probably see Brunson, Alvarado, I don't know about, and Colek, but you'll see some
45:10stuff.
45:11You'll definitely see Alvarado with both of them at different times.
45:14At times.
45:15I do think it's interesting that Brown's, one thing I'll say about Coach Brown and like
45:19somebody who goes to a lot of the home games and seeing this is him saying it publicly
45:23like this, that they need to play the ball faster.
45:25I'm sure he knows that, needs to move faster, needs to move faster.
45:27He's told the team that.
45:28They know that.
45:29Players of agency.
45:30Players of agency.
45:30They know what they need to do.
45:31It's what Harrison said.
45:32It's now about them executing it.
45:34They got to execute it.
45:35They got to go out and do it.
45:37It's not Mike Brown needs to scheme it up more.
45:40Yeah.
45:40They know what time it is.
45:42They know what time it is.
45:43And now look, we'll see if the Knicks respond in a must-win game on Sunday.
45:48Must-win game on Sunday against the Celtics.
45:51No, I don't think it's a must-win.
45:52But it will be a top-tier road win for them this season.
45:59Because the resume needs more quality road wins.
46:03The Philly and Toronto ones are the best two right now.
46:07This one would be up there.
46:09It would be up there.
46:10All right, before we get out of here, I got to ask you guys, who y'all got winning the Super Bowl?
46:14Seattle.
46:15I got Seattle too.
46:17I just think the amount, I know this is Sam Donald's first Super Bowl, but don't forget
46:22he was also with San Francisco too as a backup.
46:26I think just being familiar with the stage will help him.
46:30I'm always going to take the quarterback that's more familiar with the stage, especially when
46:32I feel like the executioner talent is even.
46:35And right now, I think they're even quarterbacks.
46:37Drake May probably has a higher ceiling.
46:39I agree.
46:40But right now, they're probably equal-level quarterbacks.
46:42Give me the one that has more experience.
46:44I like that point.
46:45Seattle's defense is ridiculous, and I think New England's schedule is bullshit.
46:48So, I'll go with the Seahawks.
46:50I like the Seahawks' defense.
46:51I think that's the biggest difference for me.
46:52And I damn sure ain't room for the Patriots.
46:54That's not going to happen here.
46:56Even if I thought they were going to win, good times are probably coming for Drake May.
47:00I agree with you that the ceiling is probably higher.
47:02Look, they're going to be here for a while.
47:05And they're well-coached.
47:06They'll probably go to another Super Bowl.
47:08They might win this one.
47:09They could win.
47:10But Seattle's defense is different.
47:12And I think that's a large part of it.
47:13We could talk about Darnold, but Seattle's defense now, because it hasn't been like this
47:18the last few years, their defense now is ridiculous.
47:21I also didn't think that either team was going to, like, I didn't think we'd Patriot Seahawks
47:25coming into the season, or even before the playoffs.
47:29I did not think we'd be here.
47:30And honestly, shout-out to Wes, who's one of our editors behind the scenes.
47:36I thought his Broncos would be here if Bo Nix were healthy.
47:39I did it, because I don't believe in Bo Nix, but that's a whole other story.
47:42Sorry, Wesley.
47:43I believe in that defense.
47:44You know that, but their defense is good.
47:46But last week, get out of here.
47:47Russ says, not a must game versus Boston in February.
47:50However, I want them to win versus Celtics in any time they play.
47:52I hear you.
47:53Darnold will see Casper and a lot of unfriendly ghosts, sadly.
47:56He's going with the Patriots.
47:57Ooh.
47:58I don't think Darnold's going to see the ghosts.
48:00It wouldn't surprise me.
48:00Look, I'm not that confident in this pick.
48:02It wouldn't surprise me.
48:04I just hope we're entertained, y'all.
48:05I don't want to blow out.
48:07I don't want to work.
48:07All I care about is the halftime performance.
48:09I ain't mad at that.
48:10That's all I care about.
48:11I ain't mad at that.
48:12That's all I care about, all right?
48:14Like, look, big week for Puerto Rico.
48:17They screwed us with the World Baseball Classic and the insurance shit.
48:20I'm not going to get into it.
48:21It's fine.
48:22Whatever.
48:23Jose Alvarado comes back home.
48:25We're finally hosting the World Baseball Classic, but don't worry about it.
48:28You know, we can't have our best players play because, you know,
48:31Javi Baez had weed in the system from three years ago.
48:33And Lindor, I'm not going to, whatever.
48:36But Jose Alvarado's a Knick.
48:38I think the Knicks are the only team in the NBA with a Puerto Rican
48:41and a Dominican on the roster.
48:42So they understand, like, the cultural importance of being in New York.
48:47You know?
48:47Like, I think they're the only team.
48:49I'm not sure.
48:50But I have to look.
48:51But I feel confident in saying that because, I mean,
48:53not a lot of us are in the NBA.
48:55And then, Bad Bunny, I mean, come on.
48:58Like, it's a big week for us.
49:00There you go.
49:01All right.
49:01Everybody going with Seahawks here.
49:03You're damn sure you're picking the Patriots.
49:04You better order some Spanish food for the Super Bowl.
49:06I'm telling you right now.
49:07I might do some of that.
49:08I'll be here soon.
49:09Don't do the pizza.
49:10You're doing a Super Bowl party?
49:11Always.
49:12I always have people over.
49:13Oh, so you host it.
49:15I always host.
49:16Oh, that's stuff.
49:16Do you make food or do you order food?
49:18Both.
49:18I make.
49:19People bring some food.
49:21That's how you got to do it.
49:21What do you cook?
49:22What do you cook?
49:23What do you make?
49:23Order some things and have some people bring some things.
49:25I'm Jamaican, so it's oxtail season.
49:27Oh, I didn't realize you were a fellow Caribbean brother.
49:28Yeah.
49:29Oh, no.
49:29Oh, okay.
49:30Some beef patties.
49:31I told you I was busting down some food before I came in here.
49:35I had a beef patty.
49:36I had some jerk chicken.
49:37Oh, you're even telling me that's crazy.
49:38You know what it was?
49:39You know what it was?
49:41I got some plantains out there because I gave some to Nikolai, our technical director,
49:46because I knew he was going to sniff it out.
49:47He was going to smell it.
49:48So I had to give it to him.
49:50You know, maybe it was I recognized the Caribbean-ness, and I was like, yo, yo, I can't let Harrison know.
49:55I was hungry, bro.
49:56Sorry.
49:56Thanks for letting me know after the fact.
50:00I got some left out there, though.
50:02I got you.
50:03I'm good on the left.
50:03All right, so you going to make some oxtail?
50:05Some oxtail.
50:06My man.
50:07Some beef patties.
50:08You know.
50:08All right, so we're not going to tell people where you live.
50:12Just Harrison Sanford's.
50:13Shout out to Alphabet City.
50:14We're good.
50:14There you go.
50:15Harrison Sanford's Super Bowl party is going to be lit.
50:19We'll say that.
50:20No, no, no.
50:20My watch parties are never lit.
50:22My watch parties are never lit.
50:23They're not lit?
50:24They're low-key?
50:24I'm watching the game.
50:26And you're not allowed to pull up if you're not watching the game.
50:28It's not music playing.
50:30That's fair.
50:30It's not y'all talking during the game.
50:33You don't want the...
50:33Oh, y'all want to talk during the game and then be quiet during the commercials.
50:39Hell no.
50:39Not in my apartment.
50:40Absolutely not.
50:42It's a watch party.
50:43It's not a party.
50:44It's a watch party.
50:45You know, I love that.
50:47You know what?
50:47I love the rules.
50:48Have you ever kicked anybody out of the watch party for disrespecting the rules?
50:51People know they don't come.
50:53I love that.
50:56I make the list.
50:58Yeah.
50:59You're like, I'm keeping those people away.
51:01No, they can't.
51:01I want to have a conversation on fourth and two?
51:05You can go.
51:06Yeah.
51:06No, I'm with you.
51:07You got to have a standard.
51:08I'm with you on that.
51:10It's too casual of a party environment for some of these Super Bowl parties.
51:13Not mine.
51:14You're watching the game.
51:15We can talk...
51:16Yeah, you want to be quiet during the commercial.
51:18Yeah, that's...
51:19Come on.
51:20That's a no-go.
51:21All right, we'll see.
51:22Should be a good Super Bowl.
51:24Brian's going to be watching for Bad Bunny.
51:26I'm going to be here in studio at work during the Super Bowl.
51:29So, doing some stuff.
51:30But it'll be fun.
51:31I'm going to bring some...
51:32I'm bringing some food for the people.
51:33I'm going to do that.
51:34I should...
51:34Nah, I would...
51:35Nah, I was going to...
51:36I'll say maybe I should bring some oxtail.
51:38Nah.
51:40Sorry.
51:40Y'all don't deserve it.
51:41No price.
51:42Oxtail prices.
51:43You say is the way.
51:44You must have some money.
51:46No, I...
51:47You're looking for the whole loaf of oxtail.
51:48Hey, man.
51:48The last time I made some oxtail was for Christmas.
51:51Right?
51:52You know, I always make some for Christmas.
51:53Sometimes for Thanksgiving.
51:54And...
51:55Yeah, the oxtail prices are crazy out here, man.
51:57The oxtail prices.
51:58Oxtail prices are crazy.
51:59Nikolai just asked...
52:00Nikolai just asked me in my ear for a plate.
52:02Should we give Nikolai a plate?
52:04Shit, I want one.
52:06See?
52:07Them prices.
52:08That's all I'm saying.
52:09Those sales prices.
52:10Oxtail's not cheap.
52:11All right.
52:11Harrison's going to be making the oxtail for the Super Bowl.
52:14And I charge at the door.
52:16With those prices, I am not mad at all.
52:20I am not...
52:21I am not mad at...
52:22I am not mad at all.
52:23$10 a head?
52:24That feels too low.
52:25A walk is...
52:26$20.
52:26You got to do like $20 a head.
52:28If you wanted to go pay...
52:30And you have to get a plate.
52:31All right?
52:32You can't come and not eat...
52:33Or just eat the finger foods.
52:34Yeah, nah, nah.
52:34You know what I'm saying?
52:35Absolutely not.
52:35You don't get like...
52:37For me, it would be like...
52:38You don't get an empanada and go, no.
52:39No.
52:40$25 and you got to bring something for...
52:43A drink for the guest.
52:45That feels like a fair, you know, purchase to get into the watch party.
52:50And then you got to remember to shut up during the game.
52:52That's the only thing we ask.
52:54Absolutely.
52:54All right, everybody.

53:15But you were 0-1 in the seat.
