00:47Well, I think I would, first of all, I would encourage anybody to go and find the full version of America,
00:52the Beautiful, the lyric written by this brilliant woman, Catherine Lee Bates.
00:57And it reads like, and the way I would love for people to interpret the song is more of
01:03a prayer than a boast.
01:05You know, this is a song about a country, a beautiful country that ebbs and flows in terms
01:12of hope, and it's a work in progress.
01:14And the song believes we can get there, and I believe we can get there.
01:18And so for that reason, I can put my whole self into that song and believe what I'm saying.
01:23And that's my job on Sunday.
01:27The Super Bowl is a really unifying thing.
01:30It's a big thing in this country.
01:31And all my friends and family are so excited for me getting to be an interpreter of this
01:38lyric and to be a part of this opportunity.
01:41So I take it like you guys, too.
01:43This is heavy stuff.
01:44These are big days.
01:45And we're being given a high honor here.
01:47What we do with it matters.
01:49I want them to feel inspired.
01:57I want everybody to know that music is such an amazing thing and can change so many people's

02:05It's, I mean, other than food, it's the thing that we can all, and I look at all of you
02:11right now, it's like everybody loves music.
02:13I've never met someone who doesn't love music, and it's, I just think it can color every aspect
02:20of your day so vividly.
02:22And I'm just, it's such an honor to sit here and talk to you about how I'm singing, how we're
02:28all, I mean, we probably share that same, that same feeling.
