00:00we see that there is a huge amount of trade deficit and it is skewed in russia's favor
00:05if we want to work towards improving that what all areas can russia scout for and india can look
00:12to export in the russian markets yeah um absolutely uh so if you look at you know
00:18both these countries and and their gdp uh rank by purchasing power parity right you know uh
00:25we are already the third largest economy by purchasing power parity otherwise we're the
00:28fourth largest right and uh and russia is fourth largest by purchasing power parity right so these
00:33are two great economies big sized economies and uh you know uh and and uh you know and russia's
00:41geography geographical expanse is so huge right you know but the fact is that uh you know on the
00:47export front i mean the export of indian products to russia on that front we have we have had a
00:51miserable performance since last uh several years it's not a new development at all in my mind the
00:57categories which are very very important uh you know are textile and garments you know if india
01:02is exporting to the rest of the world why not to russia uh as well you know uh other category you
01:08know india has emerged as a significant exporter of farm products right you know uh and and russia has
01:15uh uh you know uh you know its its population is about uh 14 uh crore you know i think that's another
01:22uh there are lots of mouths to be fed there as well and uh and uh i think that's one area where uh you
01:29know we need to get market access shrimps and uh other marine products uh in the fishery category i think
01:36that's another area where india can start exporting because russia is a huge shrimp consuming uh country you
01:43know uh pharmaceuticals you know uh even us could did kept pharmaceutical outside the 50 tariff uh
01:51barrier you know because it is very very critical for us to export pharmaceuticals from india and then
01:56there is no reason why india shouldn't export pharmaceuticals to russia as well you know so i think
02:00these four categories are uh uh very important to my mind and uh and uh slightly moving away from trade i
02:08think uh one area which is very very important if russia is a is a is an aging economy right i mean the
02:15the the the median age of indian workforce is about 29 years and in russia it is very very significantly
02:22higher uh than that uh you know kind of a thing and and also russia faces huge amount of skill deficit
02:28the data that i have been hearing in the last couple of days since uh president putin's uh visit uh you
02:33know uh uh took shape uh you know russia has uh needs almost uh uh uh half a million which is uh you
02:42know uh which is which is a huge uh set set of number of people almost five lakh people they want uh uh
02:49to to to go and work there
