Home Office Minister Mike Tapp says that he's "confident" Sir Keir Starmer will still be Prime Minister in a year's time, adding that it's "important" for the government to not be "sucked in to dramas about leadership", as criticism of Starmer's judgement around the appointment of Peter Mandelson as US ambassador continues to mount.

00:00Do you think Keir Starmer will still be a Prime Minister in a year's time?
00:02Absolutely, yes.
00:03You're confident?
00:04I genuinely think it's really important that we ensure we've got stability for the country.
00:11Look, I'm quite new to politics. This isn't my world.
00:14I just want to deliver and get on with a job. My colleagues want to do the same.
00:17So all this speculation around leadership, particularly from the media, is not helpful for the country.
00:21What we need to do is focus. We've got to focus on delivery.
00:27There's a very few, and they've been saying that for a long time.
00:29We've got to focus on delivering for the country because that's what matters
00:32and stop getting sucked into these dramas around leadership.
00:36But that's not me downplaying what's happened with Manderson, by the way,
00:38and it's important that there's transparency and that we deal with that
00:41and make sure that it absolutely never happens again.
