00:00Alright, Suns fans, let's break down this wild 2026 NBA trade deadline day, the big moves we all thought might happen have mostly gone down, with one gigantic exception, Giannis Antetokounmpo is, as of right now, still a Milwaukee Buck, let's start with our house.
00:16Suns, made a move, on Thursday, we traded Nick Richards and Nigel Hayes Davis to the Milwaukee Bucks for Cole Anthony and Amir Coffey, this deal got bigger at the last minute, bringing the Chicago Bulls in to take Nick Richards.
00:35But before our Thursday even started, the rest of the Western Conference was already reshuffling the deck, a major one, James Harden is now a Cleveland Cavalier after a swap for Darius Garland, that move keeps the red-hot Los Angeles Clippers competitive, as they push for the playoffs, maybe the biggest long-term shocker, former Grizzlies center Jaron Jackson Jr., is now a member of the Utah Jazz.
00:57That gives Utah a fascinating frontcourt with Laurie Markin and Walker Kessler, Kyle Filipowski and Joseph Nurkic, add in Chianti George, who's been sneakily one of the most improved players this year, and if a young guy like Cody Williams, Ace Bailey, or Isaiah Collier makes a leap, that's a scary roster.
01:14We were watching Memphis to see if Ja Morant was next out, but his market seems pretty sour right now, considering his injuries, loss of athleticism, off-court decisions, and on-court distractions.
01:25It's a tough situation.
01:26In the East, Trey Young and Anthony Davis are now teammates on the Washington Wizards.
01:31That gives them legitimacy, but it's a curious win-now mix due to Davis's injury history.
01:36Their supporting cast is interesting, though.
01:38Other quick notes, Nikola Vucevic is a Boston Celtic, the Oklahoma City Thunder got Jared McCain for depth, the Golden State Warriors finally moved Jonathan Kuminga to lock Kristaps Porzingis into their starting center role, and congrats to the Dallas Mavericks for getting draft picks for an all-star this time.
01:53Baby steps.
01:54So, what was left to do before the 1 p.m. MST deadline today?
01:58Giannis was the big name.
02:00Here are the most recent deadline day trades, reported by sources like Shams Karania and John Gambadoro.
02:08Ivica Zubak to Indiana, Benedict Matherin to L.A. Pacers get, center Ivica Zubak, forward Kobe Brown.
02:15Clippers get, guard Benedict Matherin Isaiah Jackson two first-round picks with protections reported by Jake Fisher, one second-round pick.
02:23The Clippers move a dependable player in Zubak, who's averaging 14.4 points and 11.0 rebounds on 61.3% shooting.
02:32They add perimeter scoring next to Kawhi Leonard and Darius Garland.
02:35Getting more from Matherin on defense will be Ty Lue's goal.
02:39Suns duck below the tacks and get some dudes.
02:42Suns get, guard Cole Anthony.
02:44Guard Amir Coffey.
02:45Bucks get, center Usmane Dieng.
02:48Forward Nigel Hayes Davis.
02:50Bulls get, center Nick Richards.
02:52We checked an important financial box here.
02:55Nick Richards was likely moving for salary reasons, and because he fell out of the rotation, we didn't get draft picks back.
03:02But we added proven rotation players.
03:04Anthony offers more playmaking, and Coffey brings size and shot 40.9% from three last season for the Clippers.
03:11This gives coach Jordan, Ott, more, options.
03:14John Gambadoro believes this sets us up to possibly offer a standard contract to Jammery Bouye,
03:21as we still have an open roster spot.
03:24Tyus Jones heads to Dallas in his second trade this season.
03:27Mavericks get, guard Tyus Jones.
03:31Hornets get, guard Malikie Branham.
03:34Jones gets a chance to steady a Dallas roster that will need order to help rookie Cooper flag.
03:39Eric Gordon traded to the Grizzlies.
03:41Grizzlies get, guard Eric Gordon.
03:4476ers get, a roster spot.
03:48This 37-year-old last scored in double figures with the Suns in 2023-24.
03:53The move lets Philadelphia convert Dominic Barlow's two-way deal to a standard contract.
03:59Knicks find a bench ringleader.
04:01Knicks get, guard Jose Alvarado.
04:04Bucks get, guard Dalen Terry.
04:07Two second-round picks, cash.
04:10The streaking Knicks, who've won eight straight.
04:12At a backcourt instigator in Alvarado for depth, Celtics trade Josh Minot to Nets, via Jazz.
04:19Jazz get, forward Josh Minot.
04:23Celtics get, salary cap relief.
04:25Minot averaged 5,8 points and 3.0 rebounds in 33 games this season.
04:30Celtics dump Chris Boucher.
04:32Jazz get, forward Chris Boucher.
04:35Celtics get, salary cap relief.
04:37Utah, already stacked with bigs, might flip Boucher later.
04:41He was a key bench player for Toronto just a year ago.
04:44Luke Kennard gives the Lakers shooting.
04:46Lakers get, guard Luke Kennard.
04:49Hawks get, guard Gabe Vincent and a 20-32 second-round pick.
04:53Kennard is shooting a stellar 49,7% from three this season, though he doesn't help LA's defense.
04:58Io Dosanmu bolsters revamped Timberwolves.
05:01Timberwolves get, guard Io Dosanmu and Julian Phillips.
05:05Bulls get, guard Rob Dillingham, forward Leonard Miller and four second-round picks.
05:10Minnesota moves on from waiting for Dillingham and adds Dosanmu, a combo guard averaging 15
05:15poimeno points on 45.1% from three this year.
05:18So, Suns fans, that's the whirlwind.
05:21We added backcourt depth in Anthony and Coffey while managing the finances.
05:25The West got tougher with Utah's move and the Clippers retooling.
05:29My final thought for you.
05:30With our new additions and the competitive landscape, what's the one thing you think this team needs
05:35to focus on most to make a serious playoff run?
05:38Let me know your take.
05:40Mikey Frob.
