00:00After Alex Preddy was killed by federal agents while having a gun on his person, some questioned
00:05if protestors should carry at demonstrations.
00:07He certainly shouldn't have been carrying a gun.
00:09I don't like that he had a gun.
00:10I don't like that he had two fully loaded magazines.
00:13That's a lot of bad stuff.
00:14How about we take the opinions out of it?
00:16What does the law say?
00:18Let me explain.
00:19In Minnesota, gun owners are allowed to carry a legal firearm in public as long as they
00:24have a valid permit.
00:25There are multiple Minnesota statutes that address where you can't carry.
00:29None of which say a protest is one of them.
00:32Preddy was shot in Minneapolis.
00:33City ordinances there say you can carry a gun in public as long as you have a valid permit.
00:38And Minneapolis PD confirmed that Preddy had one.
00:41Let's move to the federal level.
00:42In 2022, the Supreme Court ruled the Second Amendment protects the right of law-abiding citizens
00:48to carry a gun in public for self-defense.
00:51If you want to see these laws and facts for yourself, here are my receipts.
