00:00For one week every year, Davos becomes a focal point for global decision-making, where politics,
00:07finance, and industry intersect.
00:09Among the leaders here this time is Morocco's Prime Minister, Aziz Akhanoush.
00:14He's here to highlight how his country is a prime destination for international capital
00:19and innovation, and a strategic link between Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
00:24Hello and welcome to this episode of Focus in Davos.
00:28We're looking at what it takes for a national delegation to navigate the World Economic
00:33Forum, in particular the Kingdom of Morocco.
00:36It's got a tight schedule, and every minute counts.
00:42The day begins amid the Davos rush, as the Prime Minister moves quickly from arrivals
00:47to meetings, taking the stage to outline Morocco's economic ambitions to a global audience.
00:58Around the Prime Minister, the delegation moves through the Forum, meeting partners and sharing
01:03Morocco's vision.
01:05Every conversation and panel is an opportunity to highlight the country's strengths in logistics,
01:10energy, and innovation, and its role linking Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
01:15Helping to carry that message is the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Feta-Alawi, setting
01:20out Morocco's economic priorities and long-term strategy.
01:25It's all about jobs and about, I would say, impact on population.
01:44So we have a straightforward, I would say, strategy on many sectors, building ecosystem and a sustainable
01:52growth.
01:53Morocco is definitely a geographical bridge, but we are also an industrial bridge, I would
01:59say a technology bridge and a human bridge.
02:03Because we have strong roots in Africa, and we are some kind of honest broker between the
02:10two continents, because we can be a solution for European investors and industry.
02:16The Prime Minister also sets it out where Morocco sees its next phase of growth.
02:21After questions from the floor, the delegation moves on to their next engagements.
02:43Davos provides a constant hub of exchanges between policy makers, financiers, investors, and the
02:49global media.
02:51How's it going today?
02:53It's going great.
02:54Great day today at Davos.
02:56Very busy, busy day.
02:58We've been exchanging a lot of ideas, exchanging a lot of contacts, and connecting with a lot
03:04of people.
03:05So, an excellent day for business.
03:07You can't think of a better stage, global stage, to do what you're doing for Morocco,
03:12right?
03:13Exactly, absolutely.
03:14This is why it is important for us to be here, to share the word that Morocco has become
03:19a world-class, sustainable hub for investment and trade.
03:23Also on the delegation's agenda is a Euronews roundtable.
03:27It focuses on some of Morocco's top priorities, a business-friendly policy environment, major
03:33infrastructure, and innovation that stretches beyond traditional sectors.
03:37Morocco is so strategically positioned.
03:39It's positioned in Africa, in Mediterranean, and really at the gateway to the Atlantic.
03:44And I think in a time where we're seeing supply chains being disrupted, we're seeing how
03:48important it is that near-shoring, that we have sort of proximate supply chains.
03:55Morocco is today the largest passenger car manufacturer in Africa, with a total capacity exceeding one
04:01million cars a year.
04:03So, it's showing, it's showing that we were capable of building a serious, serious ecosystem
04:11built around a large number of suppliers.
04:14Morocco is also the first country in Africa to have a high-speed train, and not only a high-speed
04:19train, but a fully powered with green energy.
04:22Through countless meetings and discussions here at Davos, Morocco's delegation has highlighted
04:27the country's long-term vision, infrastructure, and innovation, signaling why it continues to
04:33attract global investors.
04:36That's it for this edition of Focus from Davos.
04:39Morocco's presence here reflects its role on the international stage, and just how national
04:45leadership navigates one of the world's most influential economic gatherings.
