A Selangor FC supporter pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court in Kuala Terengganu on Thursday (Feb 5) to a charge of using insulting language on a police officer.

Eight others were slapped with fines after pleading guilty to charges of possessing flares without a valid licence.

00:00A Selangor FC supporter has been charged in court for allegedly making an insulting remark
00:05to a police officer during investigations into a flare incident in Kuala Terengganu last weekend.
00:13According to the charge sheet, 44-year-old Alfadli Awaluddin allegedly said,
00:18Don't tell me you want to set off flares in the jungle so the monkeys can watch, to the inspector.
00:24The remark was allegedly made at Dataran Jambatan Angkat around 7pm last Sunday.
00:31Alfadli pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
00:38If convicted, he faces a fine of up to RM100, or in default, one month's imprisonment.
00:45Magistrate Nur Mazrini Mahmood granted him bail of RM1000 with one surety and fixed March 5th for mention.
00:54Separately, eight Selangor FC supporters were fined between RM2,800 and RM3,200
01:02after pleading guilty to charges of possessing flares without a valid license.
01:08They were accused of possessing the flares at the Kuala Terengganu District Police Headquarters
01:12between 8.45pm and 9.30pm on Sunday.
01:17The charges follow the earlier detention of more than 20 Selangor FC supporters
01:22for offences including drug possession and obstruction of public officials.
01:27They were caught creating a disturbance at Jambatan Angkat around 6.30pm on Sunday,
01:33ahead of the Terengganu FC vs Selangor FC Super League match in Kuala Nerus.
