00:00And we also saw UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who slammed Mandelson in Parliament,
00:05calling him a liar and saying he betrayed the UK.
00:09So was it really acceptable at the time for the government to ignore the Epstein files before Mandelson's appointment?
00:17Yeah, absolutely right.
00:19So Keir Starmer today at Prime Minister's questions had to admit that he knew about Jeffrey Epstein's links to Peter Mandelson
00:27around the time when he was Lord Mandelson and then he was appointed the British ambassador to the United States.
00:35At that time, he admitted that he knew of the links.
00:38And the question now becomes, was it acceptable for government to proceed anyway,
00:44knowing that Peter Mandelson had these links to Jeffrey Epstein, links with a convicted sex offender?
00:51Now, this will seem like a real failure of judgment, a real failure of judgment.
00:56Not just of Sir Keir Starmer, but the people around him.
01:00He didn't appoint Peter Mandelson by himself.
01:04There was a vetting procedure that he had to go through.
01:07So what was that vetting procedure?
01:09Was that vetting procedure thorough enough?
01:12Or did they know about Peter Mandelson's links to Jeffrey Epstein and let him go through that vetting procedure and pass it anyway?
01:20And those are the questions that are now being asked of the government and particularly of Sir Keir Starmer.
01:26What happened that you knew about Epstein's links with Mandelson and Mandelson's links with Epstein,
01:34but allowed this person to be in such a high office anyway?
01:38Enjoy the segment here.
