00:57Among this year's recipients is 18-year-old Ria Kaur Dhaliwal Inderjit Singh, pursuing a foundation in arts at HELP University, who said the scholarship has eased her family's financial burden.
01:10Also awarded is 20-year-old Wong Kam Man from Johor, pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy at Monash University, Malaysia.
01:19Wong, whose parents have unstable incomes, worked as a dental clinic assistant while applying for scholarships.
01:26She said the award has lifted a major financial burden and allowed her to focus on studies and community volunteering.
01:34At the ceremony, Chan also launched the Star Education Fund Scholarship Awards 2026.
