00:02Crowds of students and parents packed the halls of the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Centre in Putrajaya as the
00:10Star Education Fair 2026 opened on Saturday.
00:14Organised by Star Media Group, the two-day event features a broad range of local and international study opportunities,
00:21including Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET, as well as information on scholarships, study loans and other forms of
00:30financial aid.
00:32National TVET Council Secretariat Head Azmir Mohammad Yunus said TVET offers a practical, hands-on approach to learning that equips
00:41students with industry-relevant skills.
00:43This is the first time we are joining the Star Education Fair collectively as a TVET institution.
00:54We think it would be a good idea to have TVET institutions participate in this fair because this is like
01:02a major programme by the Star.
01:05And we want to highlight specific clusters within the TVET. For example, you can see manufacturing clusters, transportation clusters,
01:15so that it would be easier for parents and students to go to specific clusters and find the kind of
01:23programmes that they are interested in.
01:25International universities are also taking part, highlighting the advantages of studying abroad,
01:30including exposure to different cultures, academic environments and career pathways.
01:36Project Consultant Pika Sharma said the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Abu Dhabi offers world-class facilities,
01:44an exceptional teaching and research environment and student exchange opportunities with its main campus in New Delhi.
01:51We have a very good student environment, you know, teaching, learning, research environment is exceptional.
01:58And a lot of student exchange activities happen with our parent campus in IIT Delhi.
02:04Like I said, two different geographies, two different cultures.
02:06So it makes all the sense to, you know, make it a little more exciting for our students from all
02:10nationalities studying, you know, at our institute.
02:14For students interested in aviation and aerospace,
02:16Moscow Aviation Institute Head of International Department, Alexei Zaricensky said the university has strong industry links and a long-standing
02:26relationship with Malaysian students.
02:28We have more than 100 Malaysian students and we take care of them from the first minute of their admission
02:37till they graduate.
02:39And even after that, we were in touch with graduates from our program.
02:44We have more than 300 graduates from Malaysia.
02:47Yeah, so we have a very close connections.
02:51Meanwhile, University of Tsukuba, which opened its branch campus in Kuala Lumpur in September 2024,
02:59is promoting its Bachelor of Arts and Science program.
03:02We are offering the degree program called Bachelor of Arts and Science.
03:07But this arts and science is not like the art and the design.
03:11It's also not a pure science.
03:13This is a transdisciplinary program.
03:16So based on the problem-based learning.
03:20So problem-based learning itself encourages students to identify their own issue, to analyze it and solve it.
03:28Students at the fair were enthusiastic about the wide range of options on offer.
03:33First-time visitor Genevieve Elizabeth, 19, who is pursuing her A-levels, said she is considering a law degree but
03:40is still exploring her options.
03:43I decided to come here because I've heard a lot of good things about this Education Fair
03:48and I thought that I would get inspiration to knowing where I would narrow down my major.
03:54Noor Deanna Mohamed-Houzaini said she discovered a new interest in event management after attending the fair.
04:02I was thinking maybe to go into either entrepreneurship or marketing, but I also just learned about event management, which
04:11I think is something I'm interested in.
04:13Now in its 39th year, the Star Education Fair is one of Malaysia's pioneering education exhibitions.
04:20The fair runs from 11am to 6pm with free admission and door gifts for early visitors.
04:27Thank you very much.
04:37You
