00:00Hey, Natalie Curling World. It's me, Evelyn. Welcome to my crib, which is definitely not an Airbnb that we got just for video purposes.
00:07A bunch of the editors and I are going to be sharing with you our favorite things, our packing tips, what we're bringing with us on our trip to New York next week because we are headed there for Texture on the Runway.
00:19We're going to be sharing with you our tips, our tricks, our favorite products that we like to take with us when we travel.
00:26Hey guys, we're getting ready to go to Texture on the Runway. It's our annual hair and fashion show that we host in New York City.
00:32And we've been working with six of our runway brands. We have Shea Moisture, Cantu, Cream of Nature, Carol's Daughter, Miel Organics, and Curl Formers.
00:41And I'm packing up the ones that I want to use when I'm out in New York City.
00:45When I'm traveling, I try not to pack too much. I like to take either travel-sized products or put them in little travel-sized containers.
00:52So I start off with labeling them. I don't want to get confused, just in case.
00:58So I'm taking the Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Sulfate-Free Shampoo, and I just put a little bit in here.
01:04I won't be using it all, so I just try and put a small amount.
01:09So I do the same with my conditioner. I'm going to be taking the Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner.
01:14So that's my shampoo and my conditioner, and I do the same with my leave-in.
01:20But thankfully, I found a travel size from Carol's Daughter.
01:25It is the Hair Milk Nourishing and Conditioner Original Leave-In Moisturizer.
01:30And for my foam, I'm going to be taking the Carol's Daughter Hair Milk Nourishing and Conditioning Styling Foam, just as is.
01:39So this will go in my suitcase. But this will be the only product I'm taking in my suitcase, so I just eliminated a lot of space.
01:47So I take all these guys, put them in my leftover Glossier bag, and I just zip it up, and that's it.
01:55When I travel, I've always got to have my face stuff with me to just keep all of this intact.
02:01First thing I like to make sure I pack is my, it's either Conjac or Cognac. I get them from Korea.
02:07So it's softly going to scrub your face like a sponge.
02:10Foxy Bombs, this is her orange kaolin clay soap.
02:14It's got citrus oils in it, so you can't use it every day.
02:17But on the days that you do use it, it's just going to burn all the impurities away with that citric acid.
02:23This is the Strawberry Food Therapy Skin Food Mask.
02:28It's super scrubby. You can see the grit on it.
02:32You can't smell how it smells like jam, but it does.
02:35And it makes you feel like you're at home wherever you are just.
02:39Second to last, I have my serums.
02:43They're all Eva Hansen, and you're supposed to use them in three steps.
02:47This is the Vitamin C. This is the Hyaluronic Acid.
02:51Last step is going to be the Retinol Serum.
02:54And then the very last thing is going to be my sun protection.
02:58So this is my broad spectrum SPF 15.
03:01The Melanin does protect me, but you still have to get, you have to get some sun protection on there.
03:07So everything I got is not TSA approved.
03:11I don't really care about checking my bags.
03:14They can rifle through all my stuff.
03:16I'm not really, I'm not really concerned.
03:19I don't have anything valuable in there.
03:21As long as it all goes in the Ziploc bag, it's fine.
03:23You gotta have the skin to win.
03:25So first I'll be sharing my Everyday Makeup Essentials,
03:28and then also my Glam Essentials by Ardell.
03:31They are our makeup sponsor for Texture on the Runway,
03:33and I'll be sharing about their lashes, their red lip, and mascara that I'll be using.
03:38My Everyday Essentials are foundation, concealer, brow powder, and bronzer.
03:45So to add a little Glam to my look, it is important that I find the perfect red lip.
03:51So Ardell has sent me a few red lipstick that I'll be trying.
03:55So let's see which one looks best.
03:59And I really like Intense Lust.
04:03Really, really cute.
04:05It's really sassy and fierce.
04:07And this is so easy to apply.
04:09You don't need a liner.
04:11Because the stick helps you apply a little bit easier.
04:16Now I'm going to put on my lashes from Ardell.
04:19So my first tip for applying lashes is be sure that you have some tweezers on hand and ready to go.
04:27Because that is the best way to apply them.
04:29Since lash glue dries pretty fast, it's important to take your lashes off of the plastic and have them ready to go.
04:39So we'll start with my right eye.
04:41And we will apply the lash glue on this strip.
04:45And be sure you don't apply too much.
04:48Because Lord knows you do not need glue everywhere.
04:51So you are going to apply your falsies close to your natural lash line.
04:57And be sure that you hold them there for at least 10 seconds before you start trying to move them around.
05:03Believe me, it won't work out good if you move it too early.
05:06I use the end of the tweezers to press it down.
05:10So now that my lashes are applied, I like to add a little bit of liner.
05:14Just to hide that black strip and a little glue.
05:19Now I'll add my mascara by Ardell.
05:23And what that does, it helps to blend in your real lashes and your falsies.
05:28Here's my final glam look.
05:30I've added my lashes and lipstick by Ardell.
05:34Okay.
05:35So, going on a plane to New York.
05:38To text you on the runway.
05:40So the tips I'm going to be giving you in this video are like for body care, you know.
05:45Not like your skin care, you know, so that you glow or whatever.
05:48It's so the rest of your body glows.
05:50Right?
05:51So, tip number one.
05:53Do not rely on no raggedy hotel washcloth, Airbnb washcloth.
05:58You don't know where it's been.
06:00Bring these exfoliator gloves.
06:02You can get them at Target, otherwise known as Target, to peasants.
06:06But this is by Ecotools.
06:09And you just put them on.
06:11You rub the soap on.
06:12And you rub your body with it.
06:13You cleanse your body.
06:15Way better than a regular washcloth.
06:17And you get some exfoliation.
06:19So, I do bring lotion sometimes.
06:23So, right now I have the Shea Moisture lotion in my little travel size thing.
06:28But I found that oil actually goes a lot longer way than lotion does.
06:33So, what I do is I take my oil.
06:36You can see I finished it all.
06:37This is the Bolden 100% Natural Shea Oil.
06:41It's a sweet vanilla scent.
06:43And I put it in an old container.
06:45This used to be like a vitamin C serum.
06:48And I just put the oil in here.
06:50And what you do is when you get out of the shower and you're a little bit wet still,
06:55you just put like a drop.
07:00And then you rub it in.
07:02And you see how that one drop is like spreading to my whole arm?
07:07Yes!
07:08So, it goes a lot further than a bunch of lotions.
07:11So, this next tip is a life hack.
07:14You take an illuminating stick.
07:16This is the NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick.
07:19And this is for the night time, right?
07:21So, texture on the runway.
07:22It's at night.
07:23It's a hair and fashion show.
07:25Everybody's going to be dressed to the nines.
07:27So, what you do is you take this.
07:30And as you can see, it's like it has like a, I'm going to swatch it like a beauty guru.
07:35It has like some sparkle to it.
07:38So, what you do is you add it to like your collarbone.
07:41You know, the high points of your face.
07:44You add it to your nose right here.
07:46Add it to your shoulders.
07:48And you're just going to be like ultraviolet.
07:51You are going to be glistening so hard and it will be great.
07:55When I travel, my top priority is to feel well rested.
08:00So that when we're out there for texture on the runway, we're going to be working all day and all night.
08:05When I get back to my hotel room, I want to be able to sleep really restfully.
08:09What I like to bring when I travel is this pillow spray that has lavender.
08:18It's called Lavender Mist.
08:21It's just the most soothing thing in the entire world.
08:25I can spray it on myself or on my pillow.
08:28I also have an eye pillow that has lavender and like oatmeal in it and it's so soothing.
08:37You can either put it into a fridge and let it cool down or you can put it in a microwave and let it warm up.
08:43Either way, when I'm going to bed, if I can't sleep, I like to just put this over my eyes.
08:49And it kind of like, it's very calming to have a little bit of weight on your face.
08:56I know that sounds weird.
08:57And then the last thing that I bring with me is these Law of Attraction cards.
09:02So this is something that's part of my nighttime routine when I'm at home.
09:07And sometimes bringing things from your home routine when you travel helps kind of keep you a little bit grounded.
09:15I use them as a writing prompt and I'll usually pull one of those out, think about it for a little bit, and then just start writing.
09:24These are the things that I like to use.
09:26A lot of these things have helped me in those, um, everyone's sleeping except for me kinds of moments.
09:33And that's, that's my self-care practice.
09:35So those are our tips.
09:36I hope they were really helpful to you.
