00:00Hey NaturallyCurlyWorld, let's get retro.
00:04So to start off this hairstyle, I just co-washed my hair and dried it off with an old t-shirt.
00:09I have really tightly coiled type 4 hair so I usually do a blowout so that my hair is
00:15stretched enough for this pinup hairstyle.
00:19So to do that, I divide my hair into manageable sections.
00:22It's going to be different for every person depending on how much hair you have but I usually
00:26end up with 6 sections.
00:29I decided to use the UB Natural Smoothing and Defrizzing Cream.
00:33I use it as a leave-in conditioner but it also acts as a heat protectant and I put a little
00:37dollop on each section of my hair.
00:40It has great slip so it's very easy for it to distribute through my hair evenly.
00:45Just to stay organized, I split one section in half and blow dry that using the tension
00:50method.
00:51All you do is hold your hair taut as you run the concentrator nozzle of the blow dryer
00:56over your hair.
00:57I used their Defrizz Define and Shine Serum.
01:00Just one or two pumps for some added sheen.
01:03And then it's time to style my hair.
01:05So, section off your bangs in an upside down U.
01:09And then section off the two sides of your hair right behind your ears.
01:15And then pull up the huge middle section and pin it with one or two bobby pins.
01:21Now you're going to pull the left or right side over to the middle.
01:27Tuck your ends in and bobby pin it down.
01:30And then pull in the remaining side to the middle of your head.
01:35Tuck the ends in as best as you can and bobby pin it down.
01:38Do the same for the top little tuft that's left at the top of your head.
01:42And seriously, naturally curly world, that is all I did.
01:46So, I made a really homely version of a hair wrap.
01:50And I just used that to roll up my bangs into this cute retro pin up bang.
01:57You can definitely wear this as is, but I like to jazz it up with a silk scarf.
02:02It's better when it's vintage.
02:05So all you do is tie one knot, and then a second knot.
02:10And then you do the bunny ears, like you were tying a pair of shoelaces in kindergarten.
02:14And that's really all it takes to tie this bow.
02:17You just tuck in the tags or any other pieces that are sticking out, and voila!
02:23Old school fly.
02:25Hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
02:27Tag naturally curly in any pictures you post if you decide to recreate this style.
02:32Bye!
