00:00I wanted the experience of my dreams that I had when I was much younger and I
00:06wanted to make sure that he knew what being on a well-run, efficient, loving,
00:13open set looks like and feels like. So if he doesn't have that, he knows how to
00:19speak up for himself and to advocate for it and and to fight for it. So he didn't
00:24audition. I was like, that's the offer. He's a star. We are lucky to have him and
00:28we should treat him that way.
00:32Don't you think it's time for you to get back at it? I'm gonna have to ask you to
00:38get out of my house. To what do I owe this pleasure? You stole every job I ever
00:45wanted. Now I call all the shots. I need a job. I may have a guy that I want to
00:50introduce you to. What's your drink? Mocha latte. Yeah, that's me, but I have oat milk
00:55cause lactose intolerance. Ass is beat botching. Yikes.
01:00Shut up. Cheers. New job. And there might be something here for you tonight. You good,
01:07Sleeping Beauty? Could you be any cuter? You also look like a college student. I like
01:12something. A little more seasoned. Mm-hmm. Jenna! I'd like to introduce you to our new videographer.
01:19It's my son. You up?
01:24All right. So for my first question, this actually is for you, Gabrielle. The film's
01:30amazing. But one of the things that really stood out to me was the appearance of Janet
01:34Huber. How was it like having her on set and sharing scenes with her?
01:38It's like inviting the queen to come and she agrees. We treated her like the queen that she
01:45is. And having her cry at the sight of an all black hair and makeup team and that she
01:53said she felt really taken care of, that's a career highlight for me. She's so special and
02:03so talented and she deserves everything, all the good things. And so I just wanted to try
02:09to provide a couple of them at least. For sure. So to expound on that, and this question's
02:13for you, Keith. With those amazing actresses, Gabrielle, Gina Torres, Miss Hubert, how was
02:20that experience for you? And did you take anything as an actor from any one of them in particular?
02:25I mean, just the experience alone is just something to cherish forever. You know, all
02:32these, all my castmates that I worked with, Gabby, Gina, Janet, my goodness, they've done
02:39projects and done things that I, that I've loved growing up. You know what I'm saying?
02:44It really resonated with me. And to be a part of this with them, it's just really a blessing.
02:50And just experiencing it, I'm just trying to remain present and not, you know, just trying
02:57to remain present because it's a beautiful thing. And when I'm in it, you know, I'm just,
03:02I'm being me, but I want to really be present in this moment so that I can look back and be
03:07like, man, that experience was everything. It's really, I don't even have words really.
03:13Yeah.
03:14Both of you are very accomplished and you can, you know, do any type of film you want. What
03:19was it about this particular script that made you say, I want to be a part of this film?
03:24Well, I can't do any film I want yet. I'm still trying to get there. I mean, I can, but
03:32you know, I still got to pay, you know, I got to pay my dues and something like this helps
03:36me, helps me pay my dues. It was a lot of people on this project that believed in me to play
03:40Eric, Gabby being one of them. And that really helps me, you know, and help show people what
03:45I can do. I chose this because I mean, the story is fun. It's a beautiful love story.
03:52It's a, it's a dynamic we don't get to see all the time. And I love the cast. I love the
04:00setting and it was funny and fun. I mean, simple as that for me.
04:03Yeah. I was a fan of the book. So I bought Tia's book day one, it came out and devoured it.
04:09And devoured it in one sitting and I just a super fan. And so I was like, okay, let me
04:14see if the, if the rights are open and they weren't. And I didn't know, I couldn't see who
04:19had the rights, just that they were taken years go by. I run into Tommy Oliver at lunch
04:24in LA and he's like, yo, are you familiar with this book? The perfect find. And I was like,
04:29yes, I'm a super fan. And he was like, I have the rights. And I'm like, he's like, would you
04:35want to work on this together? And I was like, are you, are you, yes, you had me at a low.
04:40Okay. And then we were just off to the races and everything that happened since is just
04:45like the divine. It's everything came together so easily, like to have money, to be on location,
04:54to actually get to shoot in New York. What? And on iconic, you know, places like the bridge,
05:00you know, places like the bridge, like all these things, we generally don't get that though.
05:05Or they'll be like, yeah, you can have it all for the, for a sack of Doritos.
05:09Good luck. And you're like, okay, let me try to figure out how to finagle.
05:14But I wanted this experience to be different. And as an executive producer,
05:18I have influence over how this production can run.
