Transcript
00:00You had recently posted on Instagram showing your actual participation in the strike.
00:05I know that's something some folks feel like they can help in different ways.
00:09You have been on the front lines.
00:11This is from the front lines.
00:12Gina has been on the front lines.
00:15Can you share sort of your personal experience with actively being involved on the forefront?
00:21What does that feel like?
00:22What does it mean to you?
00:24I mean, I think, yes, there are many ways that you can be involved,
00:28but there is nothing more meaningful than being out there with each other in the heat.
00:36It's at.
00:38Marching and chanting.
00:40But what you also get is that sense of community.
00:44I mean, I was involved in the first strike in 2007,
00:48and the difference now, and we talk about it,
00:51there's so much more of us out there,
00:54and you forget because we're so often the only ones in the room.
00:57So now to suddenly be able to see each other, realize that there are more of us,
01:03realize the power that we have as a collective,
01:06the fellowship, the just helping each other through it,
01:10because we just know we get hit harder in these strikes than anyone.
01:15And there are things that we are fighting for as part of the guild,
01:19but there are things that we need the guild to fight for us.
01:22And so being vocal about that,
01:25but also just really being there for each other,
01:28because it's a tough time for everyone.
01:31But just being out there, having your face shown,
01:33it doesn't matter what level you're at,
01:35it's important for all of us to show up and show each other
01:38that this fight is important enough to get out there.
