00:14getaways as you possibly can but who wants to lug around a really massive suitcase and more
00:19importantly pay those ain't nobody got time for that shake back please I'm not doing it but look
00:23you fly on the dimes Patrice J Williams is back to show us some packing hacks how are you I'm
00:27pretty good thanks for having me again thanks for being here and dropping some dimes and some
00:30wisdom of course of course before we get started what's an international hack that you can share
00:35with our essence live audience I always suggest sending electronic copies of your passport your
00:40itinerary what hotel you're going to be staying at all the important stuff you're going to need when
00:44traveling make sure you email that to yourself but also someone back home so your family or a close
00:49friend they know where you're at at all times definitely especially for you solo travelers
00:53out there that's a very smart thing to do exactly you got to travel smart so I'm going to give you
00:56a little weekend scenario if you will say you're going to an island destination for the weekend you
01:03have a wedding to go to you may meet up with a boo or so your girls are there and you need several
01:09different outfits for several different experiences yeah you're going to show us how to do everything
01:13and just this little carry on just this carry on this is my actual carry on we're going to fit
01:17everything in this one bag and still have space left over okay so we are going to start with day one yes
01:23okay all right what do we have here so first off we have a casual chic outfit right here now I love
01:32this dress dresses are a nice one and done I like this kind of looks like a two-piece but it's just
01:37a simple dress so we're going to put this in our bag of course and I'm someone who likes to fold thing
01:42well you can fold or you can roll I think with a dress like this something that's so lightweight you
01:47really just want to roll it up tightly definitely definitely and I like the fact too that it's a dress do you
01:52recommend like doing a lot of one pieces if you will I do because dresses really are like you said
01:58the one and done really simple you don't have to worry about mixing and matching and this kind of
02:02looks like a two-piece anyway so you're really getting the best of both worlds gotcha and so
02:06we need our shoes of course we need some shoes which ones should I grab for these let's go with the flat
02:10sandals okay a nice nude sandal comfy you don't want anything too cumbersome so I'm going to put those in the
02:16bottom now is there like a shoes on the bottom shoes on top type of tip I say shoes on the bottom
02:22okay shoes are always going to take up so much space so you want to put them on the bottom let them anchor your
02:27bag and then everything else kind of just gets in where it fits in okay I heard that yeah all right and so what do we have
02:32next for day number one so also we want to use this clutch too for this first look oh so we have this clutch here
02:38right right now this is called the mighty purse and when I tell you what it does you're gonna be
02:43like what does this do this actually charges your phone stop it yes we want items that are double
02:49duty okay I love this charges your phone this is by H Butler so we're gonna put this in here for us
02:54okay perfect because you're on the go you're on about it yeah exactly and our next look for the day one
03:00yes so you need pajamas right well maybe well I mean if you want pajamas so we've got this cute set
03:08from forever 21 right here how adorable is this that is super do not make me angry I love this right
03:14don't you love that it's super soft it is super soft so you want to take this top right I'll take
03:19that off yeah so again we're gonna do the whole rolling thing we're gonna roll right so we're gonna
03:25roll put this in there it's just again super soft in the bottom of your bag and I love that rolling
03:31does not take up so much space it doesn't it will be surprised that your clothes really aren't that
03:35wrinkled they're really not I mean unless you're traveling with like a blazer or something like that
03:39you really just want to roll everything tightly and everything's not gonna come out so wrinkled
03:43you're gonna be good okay awesome okay so now we have day two yes our day two look our day two looks
03:49yeah we've got a few looks okay all right so what is our first look for day two now some of these folks
03:56out here want to work out when they go on vacation some of us don't I know I don't know people like
04:00that but if someone does want to do that if they do want to work out those people um so we have this
04:07full set here this is by motion by coalition okay really lightweight so feel how soft this is oh
04:12yes good so this is gonna dry really quickly if you want to wash it and then re-wear it so we're
04:17gonna take this off here which is super important those types of fabrics especially if you're like
04:21at a beach destination or you know you're exactly yeah exactly and then we have our sneakers right
04:25yes we do have sneakers get those sneakers in there again we want to put the clothes the shoes at the
04:30bottom bottom and since sneakers take up so much space you can even like stuff something inside the
04:35sneakers okay so that also was gonna like so you're maximizing the space you're really maximizing every
04:40inch that's what you got to do with the carry-on that's how some people they're like oh I can't do it
04:43yes you can maximize every single inch you can do it you can do it what's our next look all right
04:49so our next look here we have a casual day out so just your sightseeing or just hang with the girls
04:54something like that going with the girls so we have a little two-piece right here this is super cute
04:58right this is cute a little pineapple set okay so let's take our top here again quick question for
05:04you a lot of these pieces of course because this is our summer getaway they're light fabrics yes what
05:09about in the winter time or fall where we may have bulkier items like a sweaters or turtlenecks
05:13that kind of thing so winter and fall can definitely be a little trickier okay but one
05:18thing I always suggest is travel with your heaviest garments so if you have a coat obviously you're
05:23gonna wear the coat to the airport or something like that or even um shoes shoes take up so much
05:28space so traveling in a pair of boots I think that's always a great option and you want to do like a
05:33flat boot something that you can get in and out of you don't want to be that person holding up the
05:36security checkers don't don't be that I've been behind those people nobody likes those people
05:40don't don't be that person don't be that person all right so we also need accessories for this
05:44right we do need accessories so we have a crossbody bag that we're gonna have with this you know your
05:48sightseeing so you want something that's real hands-free right so let's put this in there and
05:52we have sunglasses you want to make sure that your your eyes are nice and protective are sunnies
05:56definitely gotta have the sunnies as well and for the shoe we're gonna wear the flat we're gonna wear
06:00the flat and the flat is already in there we wore that yesterday right it's really good to
06:03multi-purpose your shoes right you really do everything in your bag needs to serve multiple
06:07purposes because otherwise it's kind of pointless so have one item that can be worn multiple times
06:12and multiple ways got you and our third look for day two our third look we're gonna have a sexy
06:17bachelorette party okay so I don't know why I felt I need to do that dance like it's okay it's a little
06:23dance and this dress is the type of dress that makes you want to dance okay yeah a nice fire engine
06:28red dress really simple color of course but again it's all about the accessories so we're
06:33another one piece another one piece so let's take the nude heel over there got you okay and every
06:39woman needs a nice nude heel you really do and these are simply Vera Wang so by Vera Wang you can
06:46get these at Coles for like less than 60 bucks perfect every woman again needs a nude heel make
06:51your legs look super long and the heel is like a block heel so you're not gonna be teetering all over
06:55the place though especially on the beach and in the island area no you don't want to be in stilettos
07:00on the beach all right so we're almost there we got our accessories also oh I forgot I'm sorry which
07:03one let's let's double up on the necklaces so both in the necklaces here okay and I'm gonna put them
07:07in this little bag put them in this little pouch and this is a great way to store your accessories
07:11so nothing is getting tangled and all over the place put everything in a pouch and we're also
07:15going to use that same blue bag that we had earlier so again reusing the accessories same thing
07:20all right so day three day three all right so we've got a beach day we have a beach day all right
07:26so of course you want to go on the beach you want to slay while you lay out of course slay while you
07:30lay ladies slay while you lay that is the motto so we've got this little cover-up right here so
07:35you want to roll this for me gotcha I'll fold this up for you got our cover-up and we have this
07:40little bandage suit this is by boohoo this is definitely a type of suit that you wear when you
07:45want to be seen so you can wear this while you're out in the pool and then have your little cover-up
07:49and we do not want to be seen and of course on an island you're going to need more than one
07:53swimsuit so we're going to grab we need more so we're going to grab a few okay just in case
07:57you want to stunt on them which you do want to do right of course okay so you always want to stunt
08:02so I'm going to pack okay that one here and also one thing that I really love about these suits and
08:07having more options is that if you've been drinking or if you've been eating what you're
08:11going to do on vacation what you're going to do what you're going to do you should do these
08:16bottoms are a little higher so I can cover your belly a little bit nice and I love this brand
08:21right here this is by a shop called a Kenya so we love a for us by us black owned company and this
08:27is really going to sit a little higher up covers your tummy it's going to be a good one for you
08:30and we also have a beach bag over there we do we have our beach bag because you got to have
08:34something and it's a nice soft one too it is soft that means you can roll it really gotcha
08:38we're about rolling everything right everything's about rollability are y'all seeing that are y'all
08:42seeing the thread here the roll ability I think you made up a word but I did make up that word
08:46that's not a real word okay rollability rollability okay and so what is our final look for the big
08:53wedding day yes that is the purpose of the whole weekend so we're going to take our dress right here
08:58we have this bright cobalt blue dress really simple but we're going to jazz it up with the
09:03accessories okay so we're going to use our clutch that we already have in the bag right remember that
09:09clutch so that's already there uh-huh we're going to have the nude heels that are also already in
09:14the bag perfect and then we're going to use the rest of the accessories so the bracelets we're
09:17going to stack it on exactly stack it really on I'm all about a good stacking I know you got to love
09:23that right and then everything goes here into my everything goes out right which is good because
09:28then now I could just take the pouch take the pouch and plop it on in there roll up put it in the top
09:33of your bag and you're there now we we also have the last day home what do you wear for that you
09:40wore what you flew in perfect yeah there you go and our toiletries I think this is what women's
09:46downfall is I know I know toiletries right but we have a single pouch this fits everything that you
09:52could possibly need so your body wash anything that you need there's even a little makeup pouch in
09:57here deodorant toothpaste everything and also a lot of times people want to carry full products with
10:02them no no you understand no I don't do not do that yeah drugs but they have everything drug
10:07stores have everything but also you know those sample packets that you normally get throughout
10:10the year stockpile those and use them when you're traveling that's what I always do things up a lot
10:15of space is this everything now this is everything and absolutely everything we still got space we
10:21have a little travel pillow but we're actually gonna attach that to to the outside to the outside of
10:25it yeah okay so I'm gonna zip this bad boy up yeah this is actually your carry-on yes this is my
10:31carry-on I've had this for a little over 10 years now so it's going with me and it has wheels it has
10:35wheels you can just pull it and then it's perfect it really is this is awesome
