00:00Hey guys, I'm Lana Wins here at the 2017 Wealth Conference in Miami, Florida, and I'm with the
00:18lovely Sheila E. Hello. Hi, how are you? I'm fabulous. And yourself? I'm fantastic. So blessed.
00:25So honored to be here. Can you tell us a little bit about this 2017 Wealth experience and I guess
00:32your role here and some of the things that you've been partaking in since being here in Miami?
00:37Well, I came here to speak on Friday, but I also signed up for many classes and wanted to be
00:44involved in, you know, I think the important thing about all of us, we're never, ever too old to learn
00:51something and learning and knowledge is so powerful, you know, and there's always something
00:56that I can do better. I'm never perfect, never will be, but I love learning and there were
01:02so many great things that were programs and sessions that were here in the three or four
01:08days that I was here about finance, which I think it's interesting because it's something
01:14that should be put in the curriculums in schools that they should teach us about, you know,
01:19a bank account, a savings account, you know, saving for a college and all those things.
01:23You know, it's just, I think the system is setting up for us to fail, you know, so then it's our
01:29responsibility to go out and search and if it means coming to these conferences, to the HipHop
01:35Sister Conference and learning about things that are so important to our life, to our future,
01:40for us now, what's happening now, and building for our legacy and what we leave behind.
01:47Beautiful. I completely agree. Now, in regards to this community, this sisterhood, and those
01:54who are on the search to become entrepreneurs or to better themselves physically or health-wise
02:00or who are just seeking advice in general in terms of advancing their lives, what advice
02:05do you have for those people or for those women?
02:07Oh, for one thing, coming to conferences like this and the sisterhood and lifting each other
02:14up, it's so easy for us to watch reality television and see us, like, really just slap each other
02:23around like it's, you know, the norm. And it's just disrespectful, you know. We should
02:28be respectful. There's three things that we all want. And it's to be respected, to be loved,
02:32and that we want attention, you know. And the respect comes in, you know, hi, how are you?
02:39How are you doing? Making eye contact. I appreciate you. Lifting each other up. Encouraging each other.
02:44You know, enough is enough. There's already so many things going on in the world, and having new sisters, you know, sisters,
02:51finding new sisters, and hanging around people that are encouraging, you know, it's very important.
02:56So, the key for anyone, I say, is you fail if you don't try. You fail if you don't try and figure out what is your purpose. You fail if you don't live your fullest life.
03:11So, if you fail going forward, it's the best thing. Fail moving forward is great. That's my failure.
