00:00When I discovered Beyoncé, when she was a member of Destiny's Child, I was also in the
00:10beginning of my transition, right? So I was in this beginning of my transition and trying
00:14to find my look and find, like, my womanhood. And there was this group that was, like, fly
00:20and on the radio and on TRL. And, like, they were just, and they were from the South, like
00:25me. And there was all this, like, I related to them. And so there was, I came into my
00:30womanhood listening to Destiny's Child and looking at their fashion. I had the loose braids
00:35that, you know, Beyoncé had. And then as she matured and became Beyoncé, there was this
00:43level of excellence that she began to, really began to embody, where it was just, like, became
00:50undeniable that she was the best at what she did. And when you're black, when you're a
00:58black person and when you're a black woman, you have to be the very best at what you do.
01:03Oh, I appreciate it.
01:04And so I aspire to that. And so someone like Beyoncé is someone who makes me aspire to that.
01:12Serena Williams, Viola Davis, you know, aspire to being the very, very best and being great.
01:17And so meeting her, when it's been, you know, almost 20 years of growing up with her and
01:26all the inspiration, all the choreography, it was major. I'm saying all this, it was major.
01:34And she, I went up during a commercial break and everyone was surrounding her, of course,
01:38and so I kind of glanced and I'm smiling. And she sees me and her face lights up and she's
01:43like, can somebody help me up? And she didn't get up for anybody else. I was like, oh my God,
01:47I'll help you up. And so Beyoncé gets up for me and then she gives me a big hug and she's
01:53like, I love you so much. And I was like, I love you so much. And I just thank you and
01:57congratulations. And then Jay was there and I said congratulations to him. And Blue was
02:02there. He was so proud. He was such a proud father, but then proud father and husband.
02:07And he was just there to support his wife is what it felt like. It was beautiful. And she
02:11said, your lip sync battle performance was amazing. I was thinking, she had sent me flowers
02:17earlier. I said, thank you so much for the flowers. And I, you know, and she said, everybody's,
02:22I was like, I've loved you for years since then. And I was like, I know everybody's been telling
02:26me.
