00:00Hey, I'm Kirby Harle-Baptiste, I play Sasha on Barry, which is on HBO, and this is my first ever Essence shoot.
00:14I have been really fortunate, I've played a range of characters, roles that could be played by anyone,
00:21and I think some years ago they would maybe have not been cast as black women,
00:25but I think casting is opening up, and I think Hollywood is opening up,
00:28and so we're in a place where we are reflecting the real world a little bit more,
00:32like we are a multitude of things in the real world, and I think that wasn't always reflected in TV and film.
00:37More and more people are seeing themselves represented, which I think is great.
00:45It's really cool being able to be here and doing this photo shoot with Essence.
00:49Essence has always represented black women so positively,
00:52I think it's always been sort of a space where you can read about yourself, you can see yourself.
00:57I read Essence as a kid, and it's really cool to kind of come full circle.
01:02Let's do it!
01:07And look at it!
01:11Let's do it!
01:12So the speedcassend is only the height of each people who shouldn't change anything,
01:15it's the edge of the day, so you're finding places that never happen.
01:16And let'sw cin Hammendash come full circle.
01:18Well, we're gonna be much more interesting the correct vivre.
