00:07made sure that you got your pay, your worth, and the new project you're doing.
00:12Talk to me a little bit about what that moment felt like, because we as black women, we have
00:16a little bit of trouble, like, really trying to get our worth, you know?
00:20So tell me a little bit about, like, what that moment was like and what advice you can
00:23give to any woman who's trying to negotiate for herself right now.
00:25First of all, women have to take emotion out of negotiation.
00:29Women don't have emotion when they ask for things.
00:31We can't wonder if we're worth it.
00:34If you put in the time and you become an expert at what you do, which I'm sure we all have,
00:38then we should be paid as an expert.
00:40And men get paid as experts.
00:42And we have to take the emotion out of negotiation.
00:44And I'm grateful to LeBron and Maverick, because it's crazy that we have to say during negotiation,
00:52hey, this is a stopping point for me, because I've worked hard to get these things, and they
00:56had to intervene on my behalf, and we did it happily.
00:59But it's sad that we have to do that.
