FANS SHOW UP TO PAY RESPECTS AT THE PUBLIC VIEWING OF THE LATE ARETHA FRANKLIN.
Transcript
00:00I used to be a vendor at the Michigan State Fair and I had the privilege of her coming by every
00:25year having a picture that made and I asked her I have to have a token of your signature on one of
00:33these pictures so this is how I end up with this picture here. Aretha Franklin's last public
00:39performance was in Philadelphia at the Mann Music Center and she left me six complimentary tickets
00:46I bought two of them with me everybody that knows Aretha Franklin knows that she only leaves them an
00:51hour before the show. My first recollection of Aretha Franklin is going to Kobo Hall for the
00:58Gospel Fest when I was a little girl and I remember I couldn't wait I was on pins and needles I couldn't
01:04wait till she hit the stage. I used to walk to school so on the radio was Aretha Franklin and I remember
01:11Chain of Fools who could not remember some of this music that touched us all. I remember hearing the
01:18Queen of Souls voice at a very young age about three or four years old and I just at that even at that
01:24young age I could hear the soul the emotion the power in her voice and I knew right then that that's
01:29what I wanted to do I wanted to be a singer just like her. Aretha Franklin is an inspiration to me
01:35and my family she's a legend. I think it's very historical now to see because I mean we're not ever
01:42going to see her again so it's nice being here. See her for a final time.
01:47R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Find out what it means to me. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. A little respect. Yeah, yeah.
01:55I won't see that face no more because it'll be up in heaven and that's the reason I made it my duty to come down here and give my last respects to a regular person.
02:11Famous all over the world but regular.
