00:00Hi my name is Jaleesa Jaikaran and I'm a makeup artist. So if you're trying to achieve a bright
00:17lip you can use a brown lip pencil and the brown that you choose will be dependent on your skin
00:22tone. So it might be a deep brown with more reds, it might be more of a neutral brown but regardless
00:28of whatever your skin tone is and whatever lip color you choose I always like to do a brown lip
00:33liner and blend it inwards and that kind of gives a nice transition to any color that you wear. So
00:40it looks a little bit more natural and kind of has like a nice seamless finish. So as a woman of color
00:47I find that using an orange corrector is always my go-to and my go-to tip for everyone. I find that
00:54sometimes a lot of us have a bit of darkness around the mouth and what kind of neutralizes
01:00that is to pop a bit of orange around the mouth and this can be a lipstick, it could be a corrector
01:06but you just tap that and instead of like piling on foundation or concealer you kind of help
01:12neutralize that color so you end up using less product. I use that tip on all models and all my
01:19clients and even myself because I have darkness around my mouth as well. So that's really my number
01:24one tip for women of color when applying their makeup.
