00:08I was blessed to grow up with a circle of African-American women,
00:13Deltas and AKAs, Link sisters and sisters in the community and at church,
00:21who always helped me understand that the history of this nation,
00:26from abolition to civil rights, from workers' rights to women's rights,
00:32black women have been at the center of every movement for social justice in our country's history.
00:40And now we've got to realize, in this political season,
00:45that if black women are going to be the highest voters in this country,
00:51then the agenda of African-American women has to be at the center of the Democratic Party agenda.
