00:00I had no classic training. I had never been an assistant. I didn't know that Travis had 30,000 people and things like that.
00:07And I just, I had to, I had to force myself into it and create relationships because for a very, very, very, very long time, nobody responded to me.
00:20Nobody wanted to dress any of them. And when it shifted, when the time shifted, it was with Taraji.
00:26I was in, I was in Taraji's apartment and I was like, this sucks and I don't understand what's happening.
00:31And she looks at me, as I'm on the floor, she's saying, she looks at me and she goes, baby, I got you.
00:36Her exact words, I'm about to blow the fuck up. And I'm like, bro, I'm proud. Like, what are you talking about?
00:41And literally, Taraji transitioned, she was my transition. Hidden figures hit, Empire hit, and everybody wanted to know.
00:49Taraji wore this Casa Lombardo Freddy to the Oscars. And that was the transition in my career.
00:55It was the number one most searched gaming image after the killing of Princess Diana.
01:03You know what I'm saying? And this is a girl who like, I mean, so again, it goes back to how you, how you, how you decide to collect the people that you want in your life.
01:14And her story, her story, her story made so much sense for me. And it's like the journey still hasn't stopped.
01:22I still work with her. She's my OG. She's the original. And I still work with her through and through. But again, it's like, there's no, there's no, there's no book for brown people.
01:32There is no book for brown people. There is no book for brown people, there's no book for brown people.
01:44an internship in the summer in New York at AFA and it's like I'm like what like I'm at the work
01:51so the struggle for me was just to literally figure it out but no it takes one yes yeah
02:01but the magic is I also work with people who allow me to say we don't work we're not working
02:09you say no to me one time that's it like okay like everybody on my roster if you say no to one of
02:15my girls that means you say no to all of them so it's just like so but I'm fine with walking away
02:21literally fine walking away because it's a million dresses that dress is fine
02:25but it's about nine o'clock over there so the struggle is just the struggle for us
