00:00Well everybody was looking at me like honey that hair is terrible and I was just walking around
00:06looking like a bobble head. My current hairstyle is pretty much I shave the sides off and then I
00:14have my extension. The reason why I chose this was because I guess it's the one that I'm feeling
00:18most right now. Right before this I had my crochets in and that was a lot of fun but I was looking
00:23for something with more flexibility. I've worn a lot of different hairstyles previously. I tried
00:27different colors and did this extend, did that look, did those braids, did that. So I started combing
00:33the side of my hair when I was a kid. So it's actually a picture of me when I'm five years old
00:37from a photo day and I always was very into sideburns as a kid. So my sideburns was all slicked down with
00:42the pro style. I went all the way in. The worst hairstyle that I ever did was a full weave of this
00:48kind of like bang, bob. Oh it looks like a helmet head. I was horrified. I know everybody was looking
00:56at me like, honey, that hair is terrible. And I was just walking around looking like a bobblehead,
01:00like, ugh, Dora the Explorer, honey. It's terrible.
01:03As an entertainer, people often want you to just have that same look. When I got very tired of
01:11wearing weaves, I was really over it. And I felt like people kept telling me I had to wear them in
01:15order to get jobs. And it just didn't, that didn't make much sense to me. And so I, you know,
01:20went to New York and did Cinderella. And during that period, I cut all my hair off into a little
01:25pixie. And I, that's when everything, uh, I was just so liberated. Everything became so much easier
01:31because I wasn't so worried about all this hair stuff. And I could put it on and off and slap
01:35a wig on and whatever I wanted to do to express myself. I've actually found when I cut my hair
01:43off, guys were more, they became more into me because you have a feeling of, I don't care.
01:48And so they're like, what's up with this girl? You know what I mean? I don't know. I think it's the
01:52energy that you give off more so than the actual hairstyle itself. It's the same response
01:56I get from men is the same one I get from girls. They see how liberated I am with my styles.
02:00I feel honestly, you could be more feminine with your hair off because it's like you're
02:04bare and you're just feeling yourself and I don't need it to be beautiful.
