00:01Today, we are going to bust the myths about brown girls and bronzer.
00:09So first off, what is bronzer?
00:15Bronzer has several different purposes.
00:17You can use it to contour, you can use it to give yourself a more tanned look, or you
00:22can use a shimmery bronzer to highlight.
00:25The first thing that you want to do is pick the right formula.
00:28Powder bronzers are great for oily skin because they'll automatically soak up any excess oil.
00:33They come in either a tube like this, which is great because it already has a brush attached
00:38to it, or a dish like this, which is a loose powder bronzer.
00:43And often times a lot of bronzers come in a compact like this.
00:47This one actually has a highlighter with it, but we're only going to focus on the bronzer.
00:51Liquid and cream bronzers are great for more normal to dry skin, and these are often used
00:56to highlight certain areas where the sun would naturally hit your face.
01:01And then a matte bronzer is nice if you just want to give yourself a little bit more of
01:05a tanned look and an overall deeper tone, especially for more fair skin girls.
01:12And what's most important is your brush.
01:14You want to use a really fluffy brush that's rounded at the top.
01:19The fluffier the brush, the more seamless of an application you're going to get.
01:24And it will also help to prevent any streaking.
01:26We're going to use this matte bronzer because I do have a bit of oily skin, so we want to
01:36get rid of that.
01:37You want to cover your brush in the powder, shake off any excess.
01:43What's really key here is you want to prevent your skin from looking dirty, so you're just
01:48going to do the forehead area down the side of your cheeks really, really lightly, and
01:55then down to your chin.
01:59You can also do down the bridge of your nose.
02:01If done correctly, it should give you a nice glow without any streaks and a bit of contour.
