00:00Amber, I feel like you have an alter ego. Do you have an alter ego?
00:09Um, I don't know. Do I have an alter ego? I don't think so.
00:14No? No Sasha Fierce inside you, anything?
00:17I mean, I'm like pretty much the same like all day.
00:20What do you love most about being a black woman?
00:22What do I love? I love, um, hi. I love, I'm sorry.
00:27No, you're fine. I love, um, I love that we're so creative
00:31and we do different things with our hair and our makeup
00:34and I love that we're trendsetters and the music that we've created.
00:38I just, I love being a black woman.
00:40And if we just, we're here celebrating black womanhood
00:43and it feels so good to be a black woman at Essence Festival.
00:46Are you excited about seeing Missy?
00:48Oh my god, yes.
00:49What's your favorite Missy song?
00:50Uh, shoot. Is it worth it? Let me work it.
00:55That's everybody's right. Even though I cannot tell you what she's saying on the hook of that song.
00:59Me neither.
01:00And moving just to a more serious note, what are your thoughts on Black Lives Matter
01:04and everything that's going on right now?
01:06You know, I'm really for inclusion. I'm definitely on the Black Lives Matter,
01:11but not as a trend, as a mantra and a way of life.
01:16Yes, all lives matter, but right now in this country, it is, black lives are being attacked in this country.
01:22And there are other things that go on and everybody knows that.
01:24But it's very apparent and it's very prevalent of what's happening right now in the world.
01:29And I think it's time for everyone to start seeing each other as equal
01:33and not be intimidated by somebody's color or pre-judge them without actually getting to know them.
01:38So it's another step forward that we need to do because the Civil Rights Movement didn't end that long ago.
01:44You know, we're still fighting to be equal even though it's a little bit more mass.
01:48We're fighting to be equal.
01:50We're fighting to be equal!
