00:00What do I love about being a black woman?
00:05What do I love about being a black woman?
00:07Everything. Every single thing.
00:09I mean, we have strong backs.
00:12We have strong minds.
00:14We have to come through a lot because everything is not easy for us.
00:17But through it all, we learn how to love the hardest.
00:20We learn how to trust the hardest.
00:22And we hurt the hardest.
00:24Everything about it is emotion and intellect and being strong.
00:29I love it.
00:30We're ageless.
00:32We're ageless.
00:33We're strong.
00:34We're resilient.
00:35We're funny.
00:37Black women are resilient.
00:40They have an amazing sense of humor.
00:44They have an amazing sense, and I'm talking in general, of self.
00:52We're boisterous.
00:54We're colorful and full of color and excitement.
00:58It's because everybody wants to be like us.
01:01We're influential to the world.
01:04We have style.
01:05We have pizzazz.
01:06We have flair.
01:07You know, and in spite of whatever, we are just fabulous.
01:11So that's what I love about being a black woman.
01:13I love being a black woman.
01:15I love our skin tone.
01:16I love that we come in different shades.
01:17I love our attitude, our swagger, our walk.
01:20I love the way we talk.
01:22And I think we're special because we can get light, dark.
01:25It's just dope.
01:26I love the skin color.
01:27I love, you know, the texture of the hair.
01:30You know, it's cool.
01:32Look, it's cool.
01:33I just love that we're different.
01:37You know, we all like our eyes, our nose, the full lips.
01:42I love being a black woman.
01:43I love the fact that, you know, it was looked upon as a bad thing back in the day.
01:48And now we have a black president and it shows that we are equal.
01:51Whether y'all feel like it or not, we are.
01:54I love that.
01:55I'm particularly proud of being black.
01:59I was always proud.
02:01So proud now.
02:02Just looking at Barack Obama, Michelle Obama.
02:06It's almost like I'm in a weird dream.
02:09I'm looking at the cover of Post and it's Beyonce and Jay-Z on the cover.
02:14And they're saying first couple almost and laughing.
02:17Like, is this happening in my time?
02:19Is Jay-Z and Beyonce hanging with Barack Obama?
02:22Is Jay-Z texting the president and the president able to feel like,
02:26yes, I'm going to the 40-40 club and we're going to raise some money.
02:30And that's my man.
02:31And then Michelle and Beyonce.
02:33So I'm like over that.
02:35My father didn't get to see this, but I can't even believe this is happening.
02:38The way the world is happening.
02:39I'm blown away about being black.
02:42We are literally experiencing everything that Dr. Martin Luther King had envisioned
02:49for black people coexisting with all nationalities, races, and all the above.
02:57And it's just, it's powerful.
03:00It's because of the great leaders that we had in the past.
03:06They opened many, many doors for us.
03:08People lost their lives for this country to make things the way it is now.
03:14I mean, we didn't even have the right to vote.
03:16Black people didn't even have the right to vote.
03:18I mean, you know, so as a people, I mean, it was sad.
03:21You know, it was like we were treated really, really wrong.
03:24I was a little boy.
03:26I remember I came up in the days when it was kind of crazy, man.
03:29So some of those people really risked their lives and lost their lives for this country
03:36just to make a difference.
03:38And so I'm very proud to celebrate Black History Month, you know.
