00:00In a lot of ways, men do handle relationship issues the same way, but in other ways, they don't.
00:06Like, they tend not to be honest all the time.
00:10I think that a man should know whether or not he wants to commit to a woman within at least two, no more than three years.
00:17I get emails from women that have been with men for over a decade who have not committed.
00:23And they emailed me asking me, well, what should I do? How can I get him to marry me?
00:29I brought it up. He always says we'll do it soon.
00:32They have three or four kids together, but he says it's too expensive to get married, yet they're raising these kids together.
00:38And I have a theory about, not even really a theory, because some of my male friends who are single have talked to me about this.
00:45It's almost like even whether it's a couple that has kids together and live together,
00:50or whether it's a man who's just dating a woman but doesn't want to make it official.
00:54They want the benefits of being able to do everything in regards to relationship that it entails.
01:02But they also want the excuse to be able to say, well, I'm not your boyfriend or I'm not your husband,
01:08if they should decide to do something else. It lets them teeter the fence, and that's why they do it.
01:13If a man doesn't have that commitment within him, no woman's going to be able to change him.
01:19He has to come to that conclusion himself, that that's what he really wants to do.
01:24He has to want it. He has to stop wanting to have to look into a woman's eyes and see pain.
01:29And until he gets to that point, he's not going to change.
