00:00And we'll start, of course, with Xander Shoffley.
00:03His PGA Tour leading cut made streak ends at 72.
00:07The last time he was not playing on the weekend was the 2022 Masters.
00:11Pretty incredible streak, the fifth longest in PGA Tour history.
00:15And, of course, it is Scotty who has the next longest streak at 65 made cuts.
00:20Tigers record, of course, 142 made cuts in a row.
00:24Just looking at Xander, we started last year with Xander
00:27coming off a two-major win year in 2024.
00:30With that injury that really kind of delayed his start to the season.
00:33And then the observation you made was the putting, which was usually so elite,
00:38just wasn't there.
00:39There was maybe some equipment-based stuff on the loft, on his putter,
00:42things like that.
00:43We kind of talked on the side this week just looking at his swing right now.
00:46And you saw some stuff there that maybe, I don't know if it gives you a pause,
00:50but just a swing's in a place that hasn't been in the past.
00:54Is it fair to say that?
00:55Well, to me, it just looks like with the driver that it's getting inside and across
01:01the line.
01:01I know that's something he was kind of working on, fixing a little bit last year.
01:05And it just looked to me that it got a little bit over-exaggerated this week.
01:10And there's a reason why that he's hitting it so dang hard.
01:14I mean, it's 185 to 190 ball speed.
01:17And even in cooler temperatures, that's what he's hitting.
01:21So it just kind of tells you that I think the club needs to be moving a little bit,
01:27probably straighter back, probably a little bit less across the line.
01:30I think that would help with a little bit of his accuracy problems he's had off the
01:33tee.
01:34The iron game, awesome last year.
01:36Just not very accurate with the driver.
01:39He had a great Bethpage, but there was no rough at Bethpage.
01:42I'm not sure how many fairways he had, but it didn't matter that week.
01:45And he's such a good iron player.
01:47And the putter was pretty decent that week, too.
01:49He only had eight fairways at Torrey Pines.
01:51Good luck playing the weekend when you're doing that over two days.
01:55So that was the kiss of death for him.
01:57I know the stat with the made cut thing, it honestly, in the signature event era,
02:03feels a little kind of, I don't know how you want to take that stat as like,
02:08you know, where does it stand as great stats on the PGA Tour.
02:13You know, it's not all full field events.
02:15It feels a little bit kind of less.
02:17I don't know what your take is on that, but still very, very impressive.
02:22The consistency that he's shown over the course of his career,
02:25really since he got on the PGA Tour, has been top notch.
02:28I know this is not the start he wanted to get off to.
02:31And he talked about it after Friday when he missed the cut.
02:34It's like, hey, I had some equipment stuff that popped up that I haven't been able to quite sort through.
02:39And it felt like it cost him some strokes.
02:42He's going to have to go.
02:43He said he's going to work on it this weekend.
02:44He's like, I just took four or five months off.
02:47I don't have time to go sit on my tail.
02:49Got to go back to work, get this thing sorted out.
02:52So that's obviously frustrating as a player when you feel like you had a whole offseason
02:56to kind of figure out the equipment to show up and it be not quite right.
03:01I think it was a shaft.
03:03Did he know what the club?
03:04It was a shaft.
03:05It was a certain type of shaft that he switched into.
03:09Maybe it was something that was a little bit stiffer would be my guess
03:14because I think he felt like he got too fast last year.
03:17So maybe a little bit of combination of just getting the driver swing a little bit tighter,
03:24get the driver shaft, something that's coming out the correct window for him.
03:29And then he's off and running again.
03:31That's interesting.
03:32Yeah, I was trying to kind of find something here.
03:33And most recently, I didn't like that.
03:36Like a Diamante whiteboard TX.
03:39You know, that's not my category.
03:40It's a rebar.
03:42I have no idea with that.
03:44That's Spanish.
03:45You just spoke Spanish.
03:46Thanks for it.
