00:23This role, how does it feel in it?
00:26And what does it mean for you and for the industry?
00:27Well, first of all, the role, I get to finally show
00:30the varying layers of being a woman that's aging,
00:34but aging, I hope, gracefully, you know?
00:38You get to see, yes, she was disappointed,
00:41but you get to see her open herself back up to love.
00:43You get to see an older woman in a kind of sexy kind of way
00:46and in a no-nonsense kind of way.
00:49Having sex.

00:54Small, small sexy ride.
00:55You say ride in my pony?
00:57Easy.
00:57That's good.
00:58First of all, two things that I heard somebody say.
01:00I walked out in that maroon with all of that behind
01:02that we have and heard somebody say,
01:04all right, give us body.
01:06I started talking about that.
01:08And then the other, when the sex came,
01:09they were like, all right, get you.
01:11I was like, ah!
01:13We were here for it.
01:14I couldn't watch it, but it was fantastic.
01:15Congratulations, though.
01:15Because I hope that that's empowering
01:17for other women to see themselves and say,
01:19you don't have to give up because you're getting older.
01:21First of all, giving on a little nerd to God.
01:25For just the opportunity to be in the presence of greatness.
01:31Crystal Fox, Felicia Rashad, the, you know,
01:36Cicely Tyson and Tyler Perry, McCod Brooks.
01:38You know, these are names that you see alone
01:41and you go, wow, that's incredible.
01:43So to be amongst them and to stand next to them
01:45and act with them has been just a whirlwind of just blessings
01:50and I'll always cherish this moment.
01:52And Ms. Rashad, for you to be able to show such range,
01:56because this is a really wonderful role for you,
01:58but to be able to do wonderful,
02:00you're taking liberties with the word wonderful,
02:02but for you to be able to show such range
02:04and such grace throughout your career,
02:06how does that feel knowing that you've been able to, like,
02:08keep this legendary pillar of excellence on your shoulders?
02:13Well, it's humbling and it's a lot to be grateful for.
02:18Because as an actor, you could do any number of things
02:21that have no meaning to anyone.
02:24Okay. Take this.
02:26So to be able to be a part of work
02:29that has meaning for people, that's a blessing.
02:34That's a true blessing.
02:35I don't take it lightly.
