00:00Well, this is the same president who said he eliminated all the federal permits.
00:05And you know better than anyone which ones, they don't exist.
00:08He lied about that. He made it up.
00:11He said he was going to waive and address the state permits.
00:16We had already done that through a myriad of executive orders, well discussed and written about.
00:22It's all just made up.
00:24And now he has a new executive order that goes into effect when we don't know is it legal, almost surely not, that does something.
00:36But no, he hasn't coordinated or connected with anyone to tell him it's just typical Trump trying to, forgive me, it's a French phrase, piss on the grasshoppers to hear them sing.
00:47And by the way, just in forgive me, we are fully focused on fast tracking the permit process in Southern California.
01:01As of last week, there were 2,981 permits that were out.
01:07There's over 1,000 homes that are under construction.
01:09There's a dozen plus that have been reoccupied in the region a little over a year after this tragedy.
01:16We had the fastest debris removal in American history in partnership with the federal government.
01:22I want to acknowledge that.
01:23And I want to also acknowledge the partnership that was originally advanced by the Biden administration that allowed that framework of engagement.
01:30But there was no politics played in that first six months.
01:33Unfortunately, we are falling prey once again to the kind of politicization with this administration.
01:40If there is something more we can do on permits, we will do it at the state level.
01:44That's why I've signed so many executive orders.
01:46That's why we've worked with our local partners that are responsible at the county and city level for local permits to supplement their workforce and staff.
01:57We also provided them resources to provide new technology, artificial intelligence, Archistar,
02:05to fast-track some of the pre-planning and plan check approval.
