00:00The breaking news is that Robert Kraft did not get into the Hall of Fame.
00:05All right, so that's Belichick and Kraft did not get into the Hall of Fame.
00:09Belichick is going to get in, but now Kraft might not.
00:13But this is kind of big news.
00:14So, Andrew, okay, so when Kraft is getting voted in on the Hall of Fame,
00:21when he's on the ballot, who is he up against?
00:25Not specifically, but is he up against players or is he just up against coaches?
00:31Like, who's he up against?
00:32It's all the same people that Belichick was up against.
00:35It's the same category, believe it or not.
00:37Okay, then he should never make the Hall of Fame, but go ahead.
00:40Well, you have owners.
00:41You have Belichick, Tom Coughlin, Mike Shanahan.
00:44You have older players who haven't gotten in that the voters,
00:47which include a couple of former older players in that voting body,
00:50like Ken Anderson, want to reconsider.
00:52So it's this strange coach-slash-contributor category that they shoehorn everybody in,
00:58that they want to give a second chance or kind of expand to,
01:00but that's the only place where coaches go in.
01:01It's the only place where owners go in, and strangely, they pit them against each other.
01:05Okay, if I'm a voter, this is no BS.
01:08I don't care.
01:08If I'm a voter, I don't care who the owner is.
01:11Elsie Greenwood's getting in.
01:13Like, Elsie Greenwood, regardless of what you think of his career,
01:16Ken Anderson's a stretch,
01:18but even though the one Super Bowl I was at, Ken Anderson was the quarterback.
01:23I have no recollection of it, but I was there, apparently.
01:26What a wasted ticket my dad had on me, but I was very excited to go.
01:30And how out of character for my father to take me to something.
01:33But nonetheless, like, why should Kraft get in over a player?
01:40Any player.
01:42I know that Jerry Jones is in the Hall of Fame,
01:45but that seems almost like he bought his way in.
01:48I just, I would never vote for an owner, ever, if I was a voter.
01:54Yeah, look, I think it's categorically strange that owners do get voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame,
02:00where you have players and coaches, predominantly,
02:02who played or coached the actual game of football in there.
02:05But the precedent has been set, and when you include not just Jerry Jones,
02:08but guys like Eddie Departolo Jr., who presided over the 49ers dynasty in the 80s,
02:12is their owner, who spent a lot of money.
02:14The guy who's won the most Super Bowls in this group,
02:17or has the most rings and provided over the most Super Bowl trips,
02:20should be in there, especially more than Jerry Jones.
02:22Whether it's this year or next, or later,
02:25Kraft deserves to be in based on the precedent that they've set.
02:28No, and I understand that.
02:29I wouldn't have voted for Jerry Jones or Eddie Departolo Jr. either.
02:33I just think, with Belichick, there needed to be some kind of reasoning.
02:40Like, you know, Belichick should be in the Hall of Fame.
02:42He should have made the Hall of Fame the first time.
02:44It's, you know, entertaining that he didn't, but he really should have.
02:48Yeah.
02:48I mean, I don't think, it's, I don't even think that the voters need to justify not putting Kraft in.
02:55Do you understand the difference?
02:56What I'm saying is that, like, I think Belichick not getting in,
02:59they're required some explanation.
03:02With Kraft, I don't believe that's the case.
03:05Well, if they're the same people that voted in Jerry Jones or years ago voted for Eddie Departolo Jr.,
03:10because when you look at that voting list, by the way,
03:12you're going to see media names that were familiar in the late 80s, mid-90s,
03:17that have since changed outlets and still have those votes.
03:20So I don't know if they're actively covering the league,
03:22but I would presume they're the same people that have voted for multiple owners.
03:25So at that point, if their logic is, to some degree, owners deserve to get into the Hall of Fame,
03:30and you can include some of the business deals that Robert Kraft assisted or guided in the CBA negotiations,
03:35which, to be clear, I'm not making the case for owners to get in.
03:39I'm saying if you're going to put owners in, he deserves to be at the front of the line.
03:42They have some answering to do, because this is ridiculous,
03:46that the guy with the most Super Bowl rings as a coach
03:48and the guy with the most Super Bowl rings as an owner
03:51has to wait yet another year to be in the Hall of Fame
03:53waiting on the likes of a Ken Anderson or whomever they want to put in this year,
03:58which we don't know in this weird coach-contributor category.
